@ Betterthanyou: Wow, that was a very informative post. I have to honestly say I didn't know most of that. It was also very neutral politically, which is where I believe science should stay. I'm sick of liberals and conservatives making these things so political, because it often does more harm to the science's visage than it does help. In any case, I'm probably going to look more in to what you've said via the marvelous, all-knowing Google, but thanks for that. It sparked my curiosity in many ways.
Yeah, that was a really great way of thinking of it. Plus, wouldn't it be awesome for the US to be recognized for having the scientist(s) who discovered the cure to some major disease or some such? I mean, since most of the world seems to hate us, I'm sure that would help boost our own morale and global standing.
And at Doppelganger: Isn't it hilarious that normal people like us on an online forum board can rationalize things logically like that, but, for some reason, government can't? Oh well, maybe it'll be better this time around, lol
Well, I guess once it gets more integrated in to "accepted" scientific practice, it won't be a problem. The only people left fighting against it will be those random once-and-done web pages with the creativity of a legalist's painting. Hm... But then, I'm a legalist by my own definition of the term, and I paint...
Oh well. It won't be thought of as a "moral" thing anymore once enough time passes, it what I think I meant to say.
What an odd thing to say. The only thing he's really done so far was scrap the extraordinary rendition edict of which there is still a lot of confusion over. And also he's closing Guantanamo, which won't be for at least a year.
I was referring to the widespread fanatical loyalism to him, to the extent he's become a trend. I guess if he fixes all our problems and makes tomorrow glisten with golden rays of sunshine, ring with birdsong, and smell of wildflowers along a babbling brook, I have no problem with him. Politics is retarded, these days- they don't need my additional retardation.
Stem cell has already proven to be able to help some people. It's to what extent it can help people we're unsure of. But I mostly just hear of what it might could do for people.
I'm not sure if you were specifically talking to me when you said that, but, as I've said, I have no issue with it.

Well, when you have people licking the dirt he walks on, everything gets through fast.
If it helps people and doesn't harm anyone else, I don't care. Biological science isn't my field and never will be.
