I was thinking of playing Banished, but it looked way too complex. I don't wanna start anything that will cost me hundreds of hours and distract me from D3. Is Banished a game that you can just easily get into and play for a couple of hours, or is it one of those city builders where you need 10 hours to understand the basics, 100 hours to get a city that's not constantly dying, and 1000 hours to master it to an extent where you can say "I have beaten the game"?
This is my last §$%&ing day before my §$%&ing X-mas holiday and I can't play for the next §$%&ing 12 days (my laptop's kinda broken and good enough for work, but not good enough for D3). I'm pretty §$%&ing pissed right now.
.... yeah, I know, the stuff they're fixing is important and blablabla... but meh. I'm gonna kill some §$%&ing pumpkings in Terraria now to blow off some steam. Happy holidays everyone.
Don't you dare try and tell me that waiting in line for 3 days to get 50 bucks off is < actually working for 3 days and earning a couple hundred +. And no, I don't want to hear about how the stores mark up the base price so they can 'take 20% off' and sell you something for the same price that it's been the rest of the year. SHTOP THE LOGIC U SUNNOFABICH
What the hell are you talking about?
I think your first sentence is two sentences with the end of one and the beginning of another cut off...
Care to take a breath and try re-typing that in the English language? Preferably the American dialect, as opposed to the British dialect. Though, either would be better then what you wrote here...
Edit: Where is Elfen when you need him...
Well... typical case of "bazinga" ;-) It was sarcasm.
Replace the "<" with "worse than" and the "+" with "bucks" and the sentence makes sense (at least to me - but I'm not a native speaker...)
Nope, I'm not kidding. When I click on it using the housing guide (you can see the question mark to the left) it says "this is not a valid housing". I checked if there's a tile missing in the walls, replaced ceiling, furniture, and so on... I have no idea what's wrong.
Ok guys, enough slacking off... We need to get together and build a mega teleport complex. Has anyone been logging on recently?
Been online the past few days, but nothing going on, so I logged out. Up for any kind of nonsense. Out of money though, I guess we need to do some dungeon farming to get more $$$ for all the cables. Or we can just farm the WoF a couple of times (should make a "pre hardmode" savegame of the map though, because a 24/7 with hardmode enabled doesn't work).
How do you build an underwater house in Terraria? Never thought of doing that...
1) There's a water pump apparently (which I don't have)
2) What you could do in the past was build a huge chunk of blocks and by removing the inner blocks there would be an air bubble. Doesn't work anymore.
3) This is what I did: Build the "roof" of the building on the ocean bottom. Dig holes to the left and the right of the roof and put the walls in there. You kind of build the house "top to bottom". Then remove all the surrounding sand to go into your house. Okay, I guess that sounds kind of weird, but it's difficult to explain... I can show you next week ;-) Not sure if you can move the air bubble up though, because what I had to do is to "lower the ocean bottom" quite a bit. Didn't matter to me because I wanted to have lots of sand anyways.

Also, apparently there are teleporters in Terraria so we can add a couple of them to our world... like a teleproter for every different biome or something.
That would be awesome! What I have right now is a little house next to ocean/corruption with a guy+bed+chest in there, it's my "Deathweed seeds on Blood Moon farming twink". But teleporters (if legit!) would be awesome, indeed. But to be honest, if we don't need meteorite anymore, we can just build a loooong skybridge and you're anywhere in no time. Totally legit. Plus allows for star farming to have lots of pew pew pew ammo for the star gun ;-)
Yeah i would have just gotten a duped diving helmet after killing a couple of sharks. Farming for hours is something i am not going to do, in Terraria atleast. Unless it involves combat and a group of friends.
The nice thing is that you can do other stuff while farming in Terraria. For example, I gathered some 3000 sand to have enough glass for farming (bottles, glass walls for my gardens). I build an underwater house including an air bubble. I took breaks to fly up in the sky and completely disassembled the floating islands (I literally picked up every single block :P). In D3, I can't stand farming because there's nothing to do besides... farming. So to get a change you need to actually change your farming method (new goal, new spec, and so on). In Terraria, combat is always related to gathering materials and using them.
Damn trying to level up paragon is so boring without a group of friends... public games crypt runs suck.
You tell me. Even though I'm only playing with friends I'm stuck at 75 as well.
But there's annoying chores in Terraria as well... killed about a million sharks yesterday to finally get a diving helmet. (Well, only about a hundred but it felt like a lot more). The one accessory that I really need now is the Sandstorm in the bottle... I guess there's no other way than to just create a hundred maps, run to the desert and hope for a pyramid spawn (and then the right drop in the chest)?
By the way, something really funny happened to me yesterday: Was on a floating island when Blood Moon rose. Build myself a small protective fort, popped a water candle and HARPIES EVERYWHERE. Got ~50 feathers in a couple of minutes. Win! Enough gravity pots for now
Hey guys, the Humble Indie Bundle has Scribblenauts Unlimited, Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, and some other less awesome games.
The minimum to get Scribblenauts and Arkham Asylum right now is $4.53, but that goes up as the average amount paid goes up. Go now, get awesome games, and help awesome charities!
Wow. Over 300k copies sold and only FIVE of them for more than the original value, although it's charity? That is kinda disappointing, to be honest. Sure, you can say "I donated $5 to charity" but you also ripped off a company that gave away 6 keys of their hard work...
I'm not interested in any of these games, but I'm still considering to donate a bit... certainly not just $5...
Oh lawdy, minecraft and terraria players hate each other then, I assume?
I can only speak for myself. I don't hate Minecraft players (I don't hate any players, why should I hate someone just because they like a different game). I bet there are quite a few people who play both.
But I think Minecraft and Terraria are different in many ways, and I didn't really find Minecraft all that interesting. I like the 2D graphics - I often had trouble navigating in Minecraft as I'm not good in getting 3D orientation. Plus, Terraria looks like you're building your own Super Mario World, whereas Minecraft reminds me of the first steps of 3D first person shooter games in the 90s. I loved the first, was never too keen on the latter. Last but not least, afaik Minecraft is less RPG-heavy. The progression in Terraria is just insane. But I haven't seen Minecraft endgame, so can't compare that.
I always thought Terraria was a small niche game, played by ~5 people in the world. Turns out, there's quite a few more... did you know that it's #7 on Steam?
Hey, if any of you wants to host the server in the meantime, or during the weekend (I'll be away from my computer for long periods), I'll upload the world to my Dropbox. Just ask for the link and I'll PM it.
I actually managed to start Terraria on my WHS - but it was laggy as hell (even if I connect from within my home network). So, after years of being annoyed with my old and laggy home server, this is the final wake up call to buy some new stuff. If all goes well and my suppliers don't run out of hardware, I should have a new server up and running 24/7 in about ~2 weeks. If anyone here has experience in building a very low power (~25 W idle), zero noise, decent performance server I'd be happy for any input. (I'm currently of a Pentium G3220, MSI H87-P33 board, 2x4GB Kingston ValueRam, beQuiet! Straight Power E9 400W, Fractal Design Define Mini tower).

What does ICP stand for? Got 156 meanings but none of them makes sense.
The upper one is valid housing, the one down below is not. What the hell? Tried everything, any guess as to what might be missing?

Wait, isn't it just 8000 wires? That's 4 platinum. What's the part where we have to cheat?

I'm trying to get some of my friends to play the game, too. Only 1300 people left to take over Counter-Strike!
