I think my general disappointment with Demonsbane wasn't so much the pace, but the portrayal of Tyrael and the demons. I get that it's a short story and all, and that it is very old compared to the other books, but still. It's much too direct and unrefined compared to later writings.
Conversively, I don't get why everyone is brought down by the slow pace of the Black Road. I had no problem with that. Though I am a fan of the Wheel of Time, potentially the slowest fantasy books of all time
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

So, I am guessing I should read the books how they go chronologically, even if it means skipping like 400 pages ahead in my book?
No. The four books in the Archive are stand-alone volumes. Figuring out where they stand chronologically takes some digging in the texts, meaning there's no risk of the average reader being bothered by it

Go ahead and read it from the start to the end.
