Wouldn't you expect some lost records or something to be found in A5 though? Sense Barbarians and Druids come from the same group and have the same charge?
Realistically, I'd agree. There should have been some recordings of it somewhere. There should have been books you could read, like in Diablo I. I also think there should have been maybe a quest or two about the Druids since they're so related to the Barbarians. But, the focus was more on the defensive war (struggle, really) against Baal's invasion, and, as such, most of the quests were centered on this (although all were related to the war effort).
If the Elders hadn't of killed themselves to summon the protective ward (excluding Nihlithak), I'd think that they would have been a great compendium for knowledge on that front, since they're so old and would have likely been steeped in their historic lore.
Sigh... In an ideal world... Oh well
Maybe they'll catch on that in an ARPG, RPG is still an element, and we want stories. And history. That's why Diablo II, to me, just seemed like a straight Action game with some stray DnD/RPG elements mixed in.
Hm... Yeah, I hadn't really thought about that. None of them were very well defined, except, as you've said, the Barbarian. But even lore-wise, we don't hear much about Druids, like, not much is said in the books, either, whereas Necromancers, adherents of Zakarum, and so forth are more commonplace.
Druids use Natural Magic (Caoi Dulra), whereas Barbarians use Primal Magic. Isn't that one of the main differences? And, like the Necromancers, the Druids try to maintain a balance- but in nature. I, personally, loved the Druids. Loved them. I did a 37 page paper on the history of the Druids of our world (I only have half of it now, though, because I luckily saved that part on my flash drive). I would have really loved to go to their [the Sanctuary Druids] colleges (like Tul Dulra), or seen the great oak tree (Glor-an-Fhaidha). Oh well. This is a great topic, I just wish we had more information. The Druids are very elusive.
