The old system was really bad but the new one still needs work. Before you were incentivized to lose and now you're incentivized to quit before it gets tough. I think we'll see people delaying the rg kills on their mid lvl runs so that they can get their last jump to land a few lvls below their limit. I suppose it works out as an efficiency choice but I'd like to see an incentive to push yourself to the limit, maybe bonus upgrades the first time you beat each grift lvl.
