Mar 2, 2011TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Fan Art and Twitter Round Up: Gems, Runes, and EnchantmentsSome of these articles are becoming increasingly tedious to read. Usually a one-liner quote being excessively over-analyzed. And a whole lot of stating-the-obvious - 'it seems that...', 'it appears that...'. Yeah, I know. I just read the quote. Anyway. The whole new gem/runes/ revamp seems quite cool. Can't wait to experience it for myself soon.Posted in: News

Nov 19, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on More Hopes Dashed, 1.13 Delay Going StrongWell, you gotta wonder what the patch will be worth. No increased stash size, increased resolution, or added game content. Kinda kills the last bit of hope for a patch otherwise seemingly defunct even before its release. I mean, seriously? Even if it fixes issues that D2 still had (of which I'm largely unaware of), will it be reason enough to give the game another whirl? Maybe Blizzard are taking us all for a ride and have a surprise waiting. Anyway, other than that, this unlucky number 1.13 patch might be as exciting as the no-CD patch (was that 1.12?).Posted in: News

Aug 23, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Fansite Press Conference for Diablo 3 and WoW (Saturday)Hmmm. Town portals were quite a big deal in D2. At least for me. After a big battle where a few special (unique/rare/set) items could drop, I'd constantly take what I can and tp to town to offload or sell, then come back and rinse-and-repeat as necessary. Wonder how it'll work without tp's. I agree that being able to tp just any old time might kill strategy - but there's always the case of running out of potions in a group-massacre somewhere in the corner of a dungeon and then not having much of a choice but to save your beef- albeit somewhat cowardly. And no, finding yourself in a corner isn't always out of your own stupidity. Sometimes the way you explore a map just happens to lead you to a dead-end.Posted in: News

Aug 20, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Has the Tetris Inventory and Magic Find Returned?Wow, all this info even before Blizzcon is really brilliant. My mouth whets when I gander over those desert screenshots. I loved the city of Lut Ghulein in D2, so these screenshots are a joy for me. Can't wait for the next two to three days and all the stuff that transpires. Diablo fans, we're in for a ride.Posted in: News
PS. I didn't mind the previous single-cell inventory system, but I'll definitely not mind the tetris-style one if it does indeed return. -
Apr 23, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Ladder Reset to Accompany Patch 1.13I wonder if the amount of 'content' contained in 1.13 will be any indication of how far D3 is. I mean, let's say there's a considerable number of items being added as well as a quest or two, one might be inclined to think that Blizzard are keeping us 'busy' with D2 whilst we (impatiently) wait for D3. On the other hand, if 1.13 turns out to be an un-exciting patch...well, I suppose that doesn't necessarily imply D3 is nearing completion, because we more or less know it's not. Interesting nonetheless to see how much of an impact 1.13 will make...Posted in: News
...just a thought. -
Apr 19, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Ladder Reset to Accompany Patch 1.13I might dust off my LoD CD for 1.13, depending on how much content it'll bring. A D3 tie-in quest is a winner for me.Posted in: News

Mar 18, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on BlizzCast 8 nearly done and it's "almost entirely" about Diablo 3!Exciting stuff. One pushy fan later, we're all on the edge of our seats. I think August's Blizzcon will, at best, reveal some important announcement of some kind - possibly the (then) last class, and some hands-on game time in some of the major locations of D3. Release date? Not so sure. I'll only become impatient if such info hasn't been released after say Feb '10.Posted in: News

Mar 3, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Tell Blizzard Your #1 Diablo II Patch Note.Hmmm. Content Patch, huh? I'm wondering if additional quests is even being considered as an include in the patch. I think the mention of some sort of tie in with Diablo III is a good idea. I might actually click the lonesome little D2 icon on my shortcut bar again come the release of 1.13.Posted in: News
I think an additional quest or two is probably not a bad idea. One or two really difficult quests -
Feb 13, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Interview with Leonard Boyarsky provided by GameproPosted in: NewsQuote from "CapKosmaty" »As dunhac82 said, I also don't think that everything's balanced yet. For instance, they pulled the drop rate up quite a bit in order to test other features freely without being worried about death. it's way too early to judge about such things like 'too many orbs' etc.
Yup, my thoughts exactly. I think it's much too early to be too worried about anything, really. But I am getting excited again, reading all these new articles (to me they were all new) really gets me going. I think the last few months before D3 gets released will be torture. These articles do nothing but whet my appetite. -
Jan 6, 2009TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Bashiok Addresses Questions About Sites With Diablo 3 Pre-orders.Hmmm. If I'm not mistaken, there were some phony release dates for Diablo III following the first official D3 announcement.Posted in: News
I think all D3 fans with half a brain would know to consult, first and foremost, the official Blizzard D3 site, and of course sites such as this one. -

Oct 22, 2008TheBlueWanderer posted a message on City of Caldeum - Page UpdatedThe guard to the left seems to be doing all the talking. Lol. Nice music and very atmospheric animations. Though I dread these little 'updates'. They excite me all over again and then I can't sleep for another two or three days. Sigh.Posted in: News
Edit: I forgot to mention that there was something about the look of the landscape, the city in the background, and the music, which reminded me a lot of Morrowind. Which isn't a bad thing in itself. -
Aug 3, 2008TheBlueWanderer posted a message on Jay Wilson on Art Direction @ KotakuBoy, I just read through this topic's posts, and quickly came to realize why I don't visit this site as regularly as I used to. Not that I'm obliged to pay any particular attention to the plethora of badmouthing, degrading sentiments of some users. But it's hard to miss it.Posted in: News
I had thought the whole graphics argument had settled. Or at least, I was expecting the current art-direction's nay-sayers to give it a rest already. I was wrong
You can argue that the reason they're complaining is because they're concerned about the quality of the finished product. But all this bickering is becoming ridiculous; it seems more like they want Diablo 3 to be a bad game. Go figure.
I think I'll retreat once more and simply wait for Diablo 3's arrival. -

I lost a level 31 dh due to lag (my router's fault). Currently playing act 4 nightmare hardcore with another dh (and of course no auction house :)). Loving the challenge.

Edit: I've tried right-clicking on the link and selecting 'Save Target As'. That downloads a 'Diablo3-monktrailer_en-US-downloader' exe file of 15 bytes. No luck running that thing, nothing happens. *Scratches head*.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm keeping most of my thoughts on the release date of D3 'til after Blizzcon. Much could be revealed, yes. I don't think otherwise that D3's release date will be all that affected. I've been speculating a D3 release date announcement somewhere in the first quarter of 2010, stipulating the actual release date to be no earlier than say Q3 2010. With that in mind, my prediction for D3's release might not be bothered at all by the Starcraft news. Plus, this will be a 'draft' release date. We all know Blizzard will cut and chop that date a bit more for our waiting pleasure.

Wonder how many of those that fill the form in have ever used Kingston products.

That doesn't necessarily imply auto-ID is out of the question. They might toy with a system where, for example, certain items auto-ID and others don't. Rare weapons might auto-ID, whilst unique ones don't. Something like that. To be honest, I'd prefer identifying items myself. Mainly because of the suspense of not knowing how good an unidentified item is
