posted a message on Worried about casualizing D3
    Quote from "angelmaz" »
No, it's the only reason to play. There are two other possible reasons which have no merit:

    1. To PvM, which is utterly boring and repetitive as anyone who's played can tell you.

    2. To collect items and build characters. I fail to see what benefit these people get out of bothering to play bnet at all; if they're satisfied simply by improving their virtual selves and don't care about others then why don't they play single player?

In real life, self improvement is fulfilling and fantastic. After learning difficult concepts or finishing a tough workout, everyone feels good about themselves. But getting pleasure purely from improvement in a video game? Come--the fuck--on. There's absolutely no point in improving and reaching the pinnacle of power if you can't compare yourself to others (favorably, I might add) in PvP.

Really, if anyone here thinks there was any reason to play Diablo 2 besides PvP they're an utter fool, and I don't have anything more to say to them. Thus deriding D2 pvp is deriding the only purpose of D2 in the first place, and if you hate D2 then gtfo.
I hate to just pop in and insult you, but you started it. You are a conceited, self centered, inconsiderate ego maniac.
I DO tend to play single player. I enjoy it. You have NO right, basis, or authority to tell me why or how I should play ANY game. YOU should GTFO! I enjoy every couple of months cranking up a new character and finishing normal mode in a couple days in my spare time. I think you need psychological help for your issues. I hate to be the one to burst your bubble and crush your life, but THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU. Other people have the right to play the game the way they want to. Until Blizzard knocks on your door falls on their knees at your feet an begs you to tell them what to do keep your mouth shut. Ass holes like you are why I don't spend much time on this site. If you want to spend every waking moment playing over and over to get the best gear so you can have the highest leveled level 99 character, with exact same stuff as everybody else at level 99, with the exact same stat and skill point distribution as everyone else go right ahead. I won't tell you you're wrong, But then I've already covered what you are and thereby what I am not.

Back on topic. I think it's a little early to be worried about casualizing the game since they have already talked about keeping the difficulty levels in which is what prevented this in the first place. Normal difficulty SHOULD be casual, that's what it's for. Nightmare gets a little harder, and Hell harder then that. That's the point. As a little know saying goes: The higher the fewer. (bonus points if anybody identifies it origin)

For 2 I think some ideas have been GREAT, however I see things a little different.

Paladin - Christopher Judge (from Stargate SG1)
Cain - Sean Connery (I won't mess with perfection)
Druid - Alan Tudyk (from Firefly)
Necro - Peter Horton (from Brimstone)
Assasin - Angelina Jolie (this is where I think she belongs)
Barb - Joe Rose (the big cafeteria worker friend of the Janitor from Scrubs)

Althouth I hink we should start with 1. Though I don't want to derail the thread.
    Warrior - The Rock
Sorceror - Tony Amendola (from Stargate SG1)
Rogue - Virginia Hey (from Farscape)

I think a 12 or maybe 6 hour day would be good. The changes in D2 were just not distinct enough. Was there even ANY change after act 1. I don't remember anything later.

I like the peddler character idea too. I think it could be a more advanced idea from the stasht. Instead of just your stash he would be access to items from all of your characters. One huge stash for all characters on each account no more mules necessary.

Of course I assume he is a barbarian because he uses horned helmets, which I assume paladins wouldnt consider proper in the Diablo World.

Hmm. I always thought he was a paladin cause he used a shield. Guess there is a big need for more info on this one.

I'm sorry if I helped to derail your thread someone brought up a question in my mind and I tried to get a rational answer out of the PK crowd. You'd think I'd learn. Anyway...

I've been thinking about the progression from D1 to D2. In D1 it was free for all no warning. With D2 you at least got a warning and some info. It seems like for 3 they already are talking about limiting it more. I think mutual sounds as good a step as any.

This is a serious question: Why?
Why should Blizzard encourage this type of behavior? Give me a few good reasons why ANY character should be able to attack someone HALF there level.

Here's my original question again. I'll try and derail the flame fest with the few pot shots thus far. How bout an answer? Does anyone have one that doesn't involve insults? Here I am waiting to be convinced that you are right. Inform me of how being attacked by somebody twice your level improves the quality of play.

because this isnt a game for babies lol

Then in your opinion it's a game for school yard bullies?

It's amazing how the PK crowd talks about how great they are yet by your own statements your not good enough to face people your own level only to pick on "defenseless noobs".

Soundslike a really neat idea. I definately want the AI to be improved. It didn't seem to change much from 1 to 2 so I think it'd be great to see some bad guys actually seem to have tactics.

My statements were in response to intrinsik4's post about the differences in appearence between the males and females I see nothing wrong with the appearences from D2 or D3. I was just pointing them out to illustrate that fact.

I wouldn't buy it that way. It'd be silly to break up a game. I can't hink of asingle reason not to realease it piece meal if the whole thing tells one story.

If I remember correctly the big problem was that while the male barbarian was old and weathered, the female looked young - and despite being a melee/str character, has a very girlish figure.

That's because the male is older. He's the same guy that was running around twenty years ago. Whereas the female is a new person. Of course she's younger.

    Quote from "intrinsik4" »
While the male witchdoctor looks feeble and decrpit, the female witch doctor is a sexy bitch (affirmative action anyone?).

I suppose your definition of sexy bitch is your own. When I watched it that didn't pop into my mind. I can't find a good screen cap and I'm at work so I can't rewatch the vid now.

    Quote from intrinsik4 »

In diablo 2, there is no male standard with which to base the female characters off of. In Diablo 3, they establish a canon with the male characters, and break it with the female. Meanwhile, the character design makes more sense considering what the female characters do in D2.

They break the established cannon when it is necessary. As in the Barb.
How does it make anymore sense in D2? Look at the Necro skinny pale and weak looking. Look at the Sorc. "Well padded in the appropriate places!" They are both primary casters. The druid is supposedly out in nature surviving for himself yet he's skinny as hell and looks like he wouldn't last a week. He should be lot more muscular. The Assasin is a killing machine yet she looks like nothing but T&A.
I think you're putting the past on way to big a pedestal.

Bob Saget. he's actually kinda funny.

But then I'd choose ANYBODY over Paris Hilton. I can't stand stupid people. Unless of course you're asking who should die then I say PH all the way.

    Farscape or Firefly?
