Aug 19, 2008Anheuser posted a message on Bill Roper Shares Diablo III ThoughtsThe only thing I hate seeing is Jay Wilson's quote of appealing to an "extremely broad audience". Why?! That's World of Warcraft's deal, this is a mature niche game, not some trash that soccer moms will be playing with their families. =(Posted in: News

Aug 19, 2008Anheuser posted a message on Bill Roper Shares Diablo III ThoughtsPosted in: NewsQuote from "Creepsville" »Also, WoW is NOT an influence.
One second while I dig up the Jay Wilson interview.
“There’s a lot of back and forth between the two games, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. We look at ‘World of Warcraft’ and the art style there is more cartoony than we wanted, but in terms of target identification and having a world that feels like you can move through it and spend lots of time in it, there’s a lot of elements to the art style that really work. We wanted an art style that really feels like Blizzard. And we pull new influences from a lot of areas. I think people over-emphasize the ‘World of Warcraft’ comparison. But are we influenced by ‘World of Warcraft’? Of course. As I think anyone who makes games nowadays, they have to be.”

That being said, I don't mind the Art Direction. Blindly following a developer was pretty cute though.
Edit: I think Bill was making a good point about Blizz North having a totally different feel than Irvine, now that everything is back there, it's hard not to be influenced by their biggest franchise. -
Aug 19, 2008Anheuser posted a message on Bill Roper Shares Diablo III ThoughtsAs long as they don't try to push Diablo3 out the door with a T sticker, they'll still outsell everything on pure hype. Hopefully we get to see decapitated bodies, bloody smears on the walls and iron maidens laying around(IE Catacombs).Posted in: News
Have to agree with Ryan above me; the future of PvP in WoW is horrible in WotLK(Entire vehicle concept should be scrapped) and ill be leaning towards Warhammer's RvR. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

The country being Blizzard as a company, the government being the developers.Edit, not necessarily the developers but the games the company makes. My mistake =(
It's funny because this just makes me think of the ignorant Americans speaking out against other Americans "Well if you don't like what the President and Congress have done, LEAVE AMERICA". Which makes absolutely no sense, as a patriot or fan in this case you wan't to see the company or your country upright itself, not fail.
"Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that out country shall be righteous as well as strong." -James Bryce
Ok, I promise, no more quotes! =D

Scroll down and look at the pictures of the runes. The first rune we see in the picture is not a Frostmourne rune, it's a Shael rune. The second rune is a Hel rune.

They announced the merge in December '07, the EU(European Union) approved the merge at most a month or so ago. Im too lazy to dig through E-trade stock news to find out the exact date but it's also been said the merge should be complete in or around July.
You might be able to find out the timeline if you really want, just look around for ATVI news. That's Activision's ticker symbol.
