Skills/Stats:
In D2 skills were slightly linked, like:
Teeth had - Bone Spear: +15% Magic Damage Per Level
Double Swing had – Bash: +10% Damage Per Level
It seems like it would be cool if players could use a skill points to link the skills they wanted, so say (this is just a for instance, I know there is no Necro):
Bone Spear & Weaken: When the player cast bone spear monsters hit also receive a % of the Weaken skill effect.
Or
Blizzard – Charged Bolt: When the player cast Blizzard the affected area also receives a % of the Charged Bolt skill effect.
You could say 1 skill point in a link gets you 5% of the effect, 2 gets 10%, ect. Also, you could say that the skills cannot link for higher than either skills rank and the link only goes 1 way. So you cannot put 3 points in a link between a lvl 5 Bone Spear and a lvl 2 Weaken. You would also have to use extra mana to cast. For instance a lvl 5 Bone Spear cost 8 mana while Weaken cost 4, so you could say a linked bone spear would cost 10 mana (bone spears 8 + half of weaken). Passive skills would be un-linkable and skills cast on yourself (armors, auras, etc) couldn’t be linked.
On another note, several have suggested that D3 allow skill point respec’ing. My thought would be IF it is allowed, the player can ‘unlearn’ skills, but they do not get the skill points back and perhaps lose exp or a few levels, depending on how far back they want to go in the tree. This way it is not as simple of a task as dropping a few gold and you have a ‘new’ character. Last time I checked I can’t ‘respec’ what I studied in college…
PVP:
While there seems to be a large call for PVP in D3, I for one would like to see it either in a separate setting, like a battleground or arena, or on servers flagged for PVP. This way players who want to simply play through the story don’t get ganked by a supposed ally against the forces of hell. It takes away from the gameplay experience.

Stats are the cornerstone of RPGs, and to take the control away form the player really removes a lot of the 'role-playing' aspect in my opinion. It also adds a lot of depth having to balance the points your put in the different stats in able to keep up with both gear requirements and health/mana needs, while also giving you versatility in the character you create.
The visual changes they are making I am excited about, I think they have a nice stylized look going and things really did have to change with the switch to 3D. But all the changes they are making to gameplay I am not so thrilled about...
Was D2 really broken to the point the gameplay needed such an overhaul? I figured people playing your game for 8 years meant that it was pretty good.

Notice the presence of both Starcraft and Warcraft planets (Azeroth). And some of the floating debris looks like worldstones to me. Could be a map of the Blizzard universe.

Well ok, I highlighted what I saw, but someone else go and look at the original and see if you don't see it...

By the sound of things, you could in fact be ruining some lives here.
I for one find this exciting and whatever the announcement, I am looking forward to it. I think you did a good job saying what the announcement wouldn't be so that noob sauces out there wouldn't start jumping out of windows, but it appears that isn't good enough for some. You had a good idea and executed it well. Without the hype, I probably would have missed the announcement.

Talk about not reading, he defines what he means by Network merge. This refers to an internal network merge of Blizzplanet, Starcrafttwo and Diablo3.
He says nothing about the possibility of Diablo3 becoming a Blizzard site. Believe what you want, but you shouldn't missquote to suit your own wishes.

I know it was mentioned somewhere, and though I dont remember if it was refuted, the basic premise is, this is not a game announcement, and I don't think MD specified Video Game, so, that rules out board game too...

I had noticed the skull on the right hand side, but just today noticed that it is Diablo...

I think you are getting ahead of yourself if you think that by 'shaken' it means that something is actually going to happen (i.e. game evidence, patch, etc) on the 1st. All MD has ever stated was that there was going to be an announcement and that this announcement was not an official game announcement. Whether Blizzard states a date they want diablo3.com or not, if that is what the announcement is, it really can only lead to the summation that they are planning on using it in the near future, which, with WWI coming up, pretty much points to June 29th. I realize some people think that makes this countdown sort of a let down, but hey, after all these years, actual physical evidence (site takeover) ahead of a large Blizzard event definitely seems like "a step in the right direction" to me.
