Other than Act 6 and closing D3's story.

I would say an endgame mode that's as challenging as Inferno now that looting works.

On balancing/build diversity. It's kinda fine the problem is that the current endgame is unceiled so there's always a build that's kinda better than other. What we need more is a ceiled endgame.

    D2HD announced for 2018 - 90%

D3 Minor patch with buffs in season 8 - 50%

    Eveything else - 0%

congratz, you couldnt be more wrong. i ll be laughing and quoting this post of yours again after blizzcon reveal a new serious diablo game(d4 or some new big diablo game) please dont edit this so i can make fun of you later.
The same applies to you if D4 or new game are NOT announced at Blizzcon.
The most likely scenario is D3X2. Anything outside that are wild speculations.

LoN sets can take 3-7 days farming casualy if you got a build capable of doing GR 60-65 in less than 7 minutes. I do however like the idea that non-set items give you half the bonus, it helps testing out if an idea could work.

Whatever, we are getting an expansion and D3 turning into OW's business model. So don't get overhyped on D4 or D2 HD.

Tho you got overhyped for nothing :)
Yeah kinda but D4 is completely unrealistic specialy without a game director.

omg.... The Hype train crashed :(

Actually, I found something by comparing old and new builds.

    between Patch 2.4.0 -> Patch 2.4.2, 3 new "X2" files slipped in:

    • X2_Barbarian_Earthquake_DOT.efg
    • X2_Barbarian_Earthquake_DOT_Empty.efg
    • X2_Wizard_EnergyTwisterDOT.efg

All of the Reaper of Souls files are marked with X1. X2 files imply a second expansion. Now we don't know if a second expansion is in the works, has been scrapped or Blizzard is fooling with dataminers (They seem to be very careful on letting things slip out).

Among other interesting things: They've made over 4k builds from patch 2.4 to patch 2.4.2. It's quite a lot of builds, big projects like the famous Dolphin emulator have had around 8k in 10 years lifetime. D3 has had over 10k builds since 2.2. They are definitely doing something to the engine.

My going theory is they had plans for another expansion, and cancled it. Which resulted in the feautres we got each season, like the new zone. Most of the assets in that zone were X2 assets. Almost every patch post 2.2 has had x2 items in it (I thin 2.1 as well maybe)

as that seems like a lot of assets just for a patch if they were not alreayd being worked on for an expantion that never was
Well 2 things. There hasn't been any other items with X2 (check using CASC Explorer for older builds) other than an unreleased PvP zone within a cathedral. Are the new legendaries scrapped from an expansion? Doubt it, they've been introducing new legendaries every season since patch 2.1. It's a normal practice for them.
The new zones as nice as they are, I wouldn't expect them to be part of an expansion due to 2 reasons:
    • Theme, they wouldn't make an expansion with a very similar theme to existing acts.
    • They recycled a lot of assets to make them

I won't say that a second expansion is definitely on the works but there's reasons to keep faith in it.

If it's not a second expansion what will be announced then it's not D4 more like a different small game on the diablo universe. It could also be D2 HD.

I can verify this now that there's no DDoS attack.

All those files were back in patch 2.2, except pets collection. Sry folks, got overhyped.

The best I could do was find new legendary gems which I don't know if they will be used.

Well, those 'runes' you found were old school beta runes that they took out.

hmn, I see, sadly I haven't been able to verify in respect to old patches due to the DDOS Attack, thanks. I have removed that part.

Heyy folks, I decided to give a shot at datamining D3's lastest patch on the ptr to see what I would find, due to a bunch of speculation.

Here's a link of a guy that previously did D3 Datamine Image Gallary

Now, here's some stuffs hidden in the game files that were probably scrapped:

    The medallion:

Not sure what it does but seems to work like a place to add charms/traits.

The Merchant Ring, a place to offer and trade items:

Pet Collection UI, to keep track of the pets you own
