Jan 17, 2013Aldrek posted a message on Message from Jay WilsonAs soon as I saw "A Message from Jay Wilson" on the Facebook page I knew it was gonna be him stepping down as director. Can't say I didn't see it coming, either. Diablo III has gotten very boring for a lot of people, and they're very slow to add the fun back into the game. I hope he has better luck on whatever he moves on to.Posted in: News

I find three Uniques an hour in Torchlight 2, and it's way more exciting than loot in DIII. They need to stop worrying about balance and the AH and start worrying about how fun it is to find Uniques everywhere, even if we don't use them.Quote from UberMey

While I really like that they doubled the drop rate, 0.00001% doubled is still only 0.00002%. While those are definitely not the actual drop rates, it gets my point across that it's still going to be a stupidly low drop rate. They should have increased it tenfold.
the less the 'double' means, its better than nothing ... Im ok with the change
just take some time to farm now ... lets say I hope to find 3 legendary a week instead of 2 (I know rng is rng) but, you know what I mean eh ... just keep farming and you will find =P

Looks like just the colored text is missing. Is it really gone? Maybe it just blends in. Probably unlikely.Quote from Sojourna
Quote from MolsterQuote from SojournaFor those who may experience problems viewing this Blizzard blog on DFans, such as myself, you will need to disable AdBlock+ to see it properly. Or if you don't want to, you can view the blog via Blue Tracker or from the original source.
what problems is that?
Well...
I also can't see any text in the quote box in shootingbull's post nor the blizzquote in Aldrek's post. Again, the problems went away once I disabled AdBlock+ but normally I don't need to. /shrug
Your AdBlock is probably blocking the chuck of HTML that displays the colored text. That's how those things function. Try adjusting the settings for the site and see if the text pops up again. -

I love this. Make us work for everything, please. Don't hand stuff to casuals. Don't make this WoW.4) Not everyone is going to get to Inferno. I thought Blizzard said a while back that most players will quit after Normal? So...rather than letting everyone play around with rank 1 runes and at least see the various effects you aren't going to let them see them at all?
Totally! Reward for more invested players, and very likely a way to entice players not to just stop at Normal. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

The more recent thing he did was a "Budget Barb," showing that you can get through Inferno as a Barb without having to spend millions on gear. He spent around 400k (might have been a little more, but it was in the 400-thousands) on a whole set of gear and managed to complete Inferno with it on Softcore. Whether or not he replaced some of that with drops I'm not sure of, but he either bought or found all of his gear with zero outside help (if you believe he's being truthful).
Thus concludes Kripparian History 101.

This guy makes good points as to the difference in skill between ranged and melee. Melee, after a point, can just stand there and take anything. Ranged, depending on their build, always have to be careful as to what's going on. Melee, as a drawback, are much more gear dependent.

Also, I don't see how he could get cheap prices from fans from the AH. It's not like he went searching for the items that people could put up there for him to find. Other players would probably snipe the items before he got to them anyway.
It's also totally possible that he was dishonest about how he got the items, but I've not known Kripp to be dishonest, so it's really a matter of how much you think he'd be willing to do something like that.

That's basically the simplest explanation. Skilled people can do with less what others can't do with more.

As far as what to drop for War Cry: do you really notice a lot of damage from Earthquake? I just can't see it being all that great with a 1H weapon. I'd definitely keep WotB. It has great uses. I'd even drop Battle Rage if you're reluctant to get rid of Earthquake. It's hardly necessary in a defensive build.

Your health seems really low. You didn't post health numbers, only vitality, and based on that it seems you'd want more. You want enough health so that your Revenge hits heal for more, since it's based on total health.
Your damage is also really low. You didn't post your weapon stats, but see if you can't get one with more damage. Also try to get some crit% and crit damage if you can manage it without sacrificing survivability.
Your armor and life on hit are fine.
Something I'm a personal fan of is life regeneration. You said you had trouble with sustain while fighting packs that you can't actively hit all the time. Well, life regeneration has 100% uptime. You don't need to hit a guy to get its benefit. Maybe give that a shot if you can manage it.

The price has also gone up 300,000 gold recently, so ask yourself if you think it's worth it to get.

Definitely pick up War Cry: Impunity. It is absolutely the best buff you can give yourself. You said your gear was lacking for Act II? War Cry. There's your gear.
Again, would really like to know your weapon setup. It matters a lot.

+92 to silly? I need more Silly points for my Silly set!

Assuming unbuffed: you need more (maybe double-ish) resists, a few thousand more armor, more health would be nice, at least 5% more block would help a lot, maybe invest in some Life on Hit if you use Frenzy, and Life Regeneration is never bad.
