I would perfer for Diablo 3 to be in WoW perspective. Considering the fact that WoW perspective is the only good one, set camera angels aren't good at all. They suck.
sigh.... diablo2 is 3d!!! the isometric or birds eye view doesnt emphazise the 3d
and yes... wow does look like shit, it has terrible 3d graphics.. it reminds me of watching a poorly done cheap cartoon
Diablo 2 got old, fast, not only game play. I didnt like not being able to turn my camera to look around.. I had to get behind a wall and wait for it to go transparent. And yes, Im watching my friend play WoW as I type this and it DOES look like a poorly done cheap cartoon.. I will give you that. But If Diablo 3 doesnt have key features, its never going to make it in the RPG world.
Key Features : 360 Degree View Turnability. And others that I am far to tired to think of right now.
Im sure it wouldnt look all cartoonish, what they would probably do is take their art, add 3D rendering and add features. It more than likely would not look like WoW (Cartoonish) Soo.
Good. The only way for these game makers to go, is 3D. There would be no point in making a new crappy looking 2D game? It would defeat the purpose in even making a NEW game. It wouldn't put up a fight aginst anything.. As I have said before, if you like 2D graphics, fine, but don't hold us 3D lovers back just because you want a new crap looking game. Go back to Diablo 1 or 2.
If you are a 3D modelist.. Why the hell would you support 2D? Doesn't make sence. At all. On to the real issue.
Anyone who says WoW looks like crap ("...if diablo 3 looked like a stickfigure it would look better than WoW...") Either 1. Is into 2D games only or 2. Hasn't seen it.
Why would anyone perfer 2D over 3D? 3D opens a whole new world of graphics. With 2D you can't get the feeling as though it was you walking around killing stuff. The technology has long advanced since Diablo 2. I would gladly try the game even if it was 2D but I doubt that I would even get into it since demand these days call for a good RPG to be fully 3D. In most cases anyways. Let those people who like 2D stick to Diablo 2 I say.:cool:

Come on! 3D just opens the game to newer more exciting levels of fun guys.. 2D was the shit for a while, but the people at Blizzard have got to keep up with competition.. They have got to keep going with 3D as with WoW.. Can't keep holding your favorite company back, some fans of the game you are.. eh? What are people going to think, when people look at a WoW Game Box on the shelf at any local computer store.. "Oh that game looks freakin' awesome!" They look around a while.. but right next to it, was Diablo 3. He may have picked up the box and thought.. "2D!? So 20 years ago.." But if Blizzard goes with 3D, this may happen, "Woah! A new 3D game. Looks much cooler than stupid WoW.." Thusly bringing more players to the universe if Diablo for us Diablo players.. Now, some of you may say, "Who cares, they get money anyways.. stupid" That may be true, but, what you fail to realize is, if everyone who wants 3D is off playing WoW.. there will hardly be any good players left for Diablo 3. As my friend just commented in on, "There wouldn't even be a point in making it, they might as well stop now and let everyone play WoW in that case." So now, tell me, after reading this, if you still want 2D, stop holding us people, urging for a new 3D game to come out that is TOP OF THE LINE! BETTER THAN WoW! Then stop holding us back from what we want and keep to Diablo 2. Please. Tell me you want 3D as bad as I.
Edit. : Also, what do the game designers plan to do about this delima? Give an option? Is that a bad idea? Give people the option of 3D or 2D.. Do you think its a bad idea?
Edit again : A thought has occured in my brain. If they do go 2D, that would SERIOUSLY cut back on the whole, town/enviroment display. It would just be like, an update for Diablo 2. Waste of time I suppose. Stop voting 2D I say.
Then again, they may already have decided on 3D.. Or even 2D, but if it IS 2D, I am switching to another game.
