Sep 30, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Weekly Updates from D3 Development: Witch Doctor Gear Revealeddon't forget that we'll be able to use dyes to change the colors of our items into what we think of as more fitting. so its gonna be all the "i like it dark" people with black/grey dyes and the majority of the people with more interesting ideas.Posted in: News

hmmmm! nice pik, but
This is the way it should be
Not so colorful, without the warm tones.
and yes, cold and dark tones.
And a few scratches, after all who struggle with
demons can not look as pretty clean and fragrant.
Maybe he went shopping in the morning.
LOL!
Do you agree?

i like both pictures. but truely i think the environment of diablo 3 will also play a factor on visibility of the character. if you were to put the darker bloodied one in a diablo 3 environment, i dont think it would look as good.
Just a thought =]
this exactly.
environment plays a major part to how you'll see your character. darker environment with darker colored characters and darker colored monsters (as quite a few have been suggesting since the announcement) equals to seeing nothing and enjoying even less. -

Sep 28, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Character Limits and Muling in Diablo IIIThe big difference is not to assume that Diablo III leveling will be the same as it is for Diablo II. Diablo III will have random events (instead of side-quests) all over Sanctuary on each act that will make the game feel a bit different and a bit more interesting on every playthrough. We still aren't sure if items will be Bind on Pickup, Bind on Equip or if they'll be soulbound at all either.Posted in: News
I see you think of the rushing that happened in Diablo II in a positive way and i wonder why. Sure, the gameplay can end up boring after a few playthroughs in Diablo II, but at least once (for every class) it feels way different considering how the characters vary. Also the variery of runestones (thanks to Scyberdragon for asking about the terminology on Twitter) combined with skills makes the gaming experience way different too. So i'd say its both a matter of "many uber characters" and way different gameplay along the way. -
Sep 28, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Character Limits and Muling in Diablo IIIRespecs wont work as they do in WoW - from what i've been reading here in the forum at least (i really hope to see some official quotes, though). We'll be able to remove a skill point or two that will require quests to accomplish (i hope they wont be the same all the time or it would be boring).Posted in: News
Besides, who doesnt want max leveled characters with top gear and different specs? i'm sure i want more than 2 Wizards (melee oriented and elemental at least), Witch Doctors, at least a Monk etc etc -
Sep 28, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Character Limits and Muling in Diablo IIII was hoping for something like a bank for the whole account in major cities like Caldeum. They shouldnt be hard to reach through the waypoints.Posted in: News
Also something to think about would be a bank for the whole Clan this way that we havent heared a thing so far. If they used a bank system for the characters from the same account, it would be very easily used for Clans aswell. -
Sep 28, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Character Limits and Muling in Diablo IIIHow i understand it is that "we know they'll do it but not exactly how".Posted in: News
question is if they'll simply use a mechanic known from other games (shared stash like TQ or Torchlight) or try to find something more original (?) or simply more fitting for the Diablo universe.
Certain is that we know now of a few things they're making different (artisans for example - that i doubt could carry a "universal stash" for every character in the account since you have to get them to follow you with quests) and it could give us something more to speculate with better chances of getting something right. -
Sep 27, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Level 60 capPosted in: NewsQuote from pernunzI'm not sure that there will be a 7 skill set which dominates a character design. It all depends on how each individual player wants to play the game. With no synergies (I think) there will be many more active skills used, and with the rune alterations to skills, I don't think any 7 skill set will dominate unless the best runes are available really easily.
actually that's exactly how it is:
Official Blizzard Quote:
@Theeliminator2k You can spend into seven skills at a time, total. These are active skills and don't include passives.
thing is that Diablo III end-game wont be anything like Diablo II end-game.
we wont be mindlessly be running bosses for loots and xp as it was but we'll get to do something else that's kinda secret at this point.
i can't wait for more info on this, but i'm rather interested in the solution, because frankly, Diablo II end-game was too boring and never motivated me enough to reach the level cap because i didnt see a point. -

Am i one of the only few that does care?
The main replayability of d2 was the never ending level cap for most players AND the loot people got while doing that.
I didn't do baal runs just for the loot, or just for the XP.. I did it for both. Hopefully you wont be 60 or somewhere close when you end hell. I like the feeling of running dungeons for XP and the Loot.
They will probably pin this down in some sort of way and find a sweet spot for all of us.
its confirmed that the end-game in Diablo III will not be the same as in Diablo II (endless grind of the same bosses/places over and over again till you get the level cap - that wasnt my definition of fun).
what's not said so far - and we should expect more about in Blizzcon is how end-game will be shaped.
Quote from True-Saber
Its not diablo w/out 99, this isn't fucking warcraft, and since when did blizzard start doing things things the easy way (except for wow) i was hoping for a quality game
(goes and weeps for blizzard's sake in a corner)
is that right?
so Diablo 1 that had a level cap of 50 isnt Diablo, right? it was Warcraft?
seriously dude, its not about the level cap, its about the feeling and the features the game offers. that's Diablo, not the number of the level cap. Grow up and learn to deal with changes. -

30 levels of normal, 20 levels of nightmare, 10 levels of hell... thats pretty good logic. I just hope that getting to level 60 won't be too easy, and that the final boss on hell will just be insanely difficult.
He did say that we could expect a similar difficulty as reaching 99 for the 60 cap somewhere in there, I think. On that basis, unless you thought reaching 99 was really easy in II, it should be good. I might be mistaken, though.
i think he said it was about as hard as to get to 80-85 (playing the game, not being rushed, naturally) because the last 10-15 levels didnt really make a difference and it didnt feel like such a big accomplishment anyway (never motivated me in the 5 years i played and never got to 99 because it was simply boring, so i get his logic).
its just that they intend to make the level cap mean something and not have the game to end after you hit it (which was pretty much it in Diablo II unless you wanted to grind for something - that you could do with a level 85-87 character anyway). -
Sep 22, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Level 60 capi'm expecting events of sorts after you hit 60. kill the "final" boss. then a demon army is spotted to X place. you go investigate and kill its leader(s).Posted in: News
things like this more or less -

Guys are right diablo was before wow, you can say diablo > wow, you won't make a mistake ; )
i'd rather say Diablo =/= WoW to make it more valid
each has its own good and bad things and even though WoW got more from Diablo (and Diablo II) it still doesnt change the fact that if some features fit, they're good for the game no matter which game they come from! -
Sep 21, 2010FingolfinGR posted a message on Level 60 capi think they should remove the numbers 60, 70, 80 and 85 from all future Blizzard games that arent related to Warcraft because they all remind of World of Warcraft /facepalmPosted in: News
seriously now, what's more important? a game that will be balanced and interesting up to end-game or a game that has a number people like because people like it?
*edit* did that last part make any sense? i almost loled at my english. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Funny how "there's no customization anymore" and we already are so overpowered with the skill/rune system that we kinda forget about gear!

Noticed "Whats New In D3" tab??
Skill calculator is up!
I think those should cover it for now.

It didn't look bad, but it wasn't perfect either. I kinda prefer the new version. As I said before, personal preference.

Not sure what else there is to say on the topic. It's up to personal preferences.
