Everything you need to know for Demon Hunter in Patch 2.4.2 Season 7
Since there were very few fundamental and relevant changes for demon hunter this is mostly a copy paste from last season
Like in previous seasons I will list all the build guides I have for patch 2.4.2 plus some additional resources and information. Since the builds are still essentially the same I haven't made new videos, but the text guides will be updated and polished throughout the season and videos may be reproduced but for now will serve as a visual representation of the build's gameplay and overall idea. The build's foundations are mostly optimized for solo intermediate players, for more information on beginner, advanced, and group variations please read the text descriptions for each build!
If you find these helpful do not forget to give them an upvote, please and thank you! My guides will continue to be polished, updated, and current. If you have any questions or suggestions please kindly let me know! you can contact me either here on dfans or on my Live Stream
Everything you need to know for Demon Hunter in Patch 2.4.1 Season 6
All organized neatly in one place! Much like last season I will list all the build guides I have for patch 2.4.1 plus a few extras and some additional resources and information. Because most of the builds didn't change much I didn't make new videos for every build, but the text guides will be updated when the patch hits and the videos will serve as a visual representation of the build's gameplay. My build's foundations are mostly optimized for solo intermediate players, for more information on beginner, advanced, and group variations please read the text descriptions!

Build Guides are all fresh, please take the time to upvote the build guides if you find them helpful!
this is the best way to show support if you appreciate the guides
since dfans took so long to update the database and still haven't finished the database some of the guides are rushed and not quite complete, but it should be obvious what items are missing based on the rest of the guide, and they will be polished more throughout the season.
for pushing all build with prefix GR are ok or there are some that perform a lot better than the others? When I say "a lot" I mean double damage or so, or in other words 2 or 3 GR...
checkout the summary video in the OP, I generalize the strength of each build in that video, roughly it's (LoN>UE>M6>S6>N6) with the difference between all of them being very slight, except LoN is ahead by quite a bit.
I've been considering going DH for season 6. One thing that puts me off is the end game LoN build. It brings too many memories of the very boring LoN crusader bombard build.
Is there any chance any other DH setup will be competetive or is LoN definitively the only end game build?
Thanks in advance
LoN will be the Rank 1 Setup, but the DH sets are balanced enough you can get top 20+ with other builds
Are these going to be updated as I see taeguk in many and that's shifting to channeling skills pretty much?
yea for sure, but I have to wait for Dfans to update their database with the new patch, usually this happens along side the patch on live servers, but this time it's taking them a bit longer should be updated before season start... hopefully
what would be the "easiest" path to a quick'n'dirty GR60 build?
really GR 60 is pretty easy with any DH set, getting marauder for free from the gift would make it the easiest but they would all be really easy, with the power creep and nerfs to GR's UE would be really easy as well, perhaps whichever setup you get an ancient weapon for first would be the easiest, not that you need an ancient weapon to do GR 60, but that would make it much easier.
Hello Philo, was waiting for a thread of yours about 2.4.1
The 4man GRs support build will be the same as 2.4?
pretty much, yes, there is a few itemization options (M2 or UE4) but the basic idea and spec is the same, just slap on all the damage buffs / reductions you can and then there isn't too much flexibility left after that.
Hey there, demon hunter friends, I have been working on some content for Season 6 and wanted to share a bit with you all about the builds for next patch, I will be updating all my dfans text guides for 2.4.1 and will compile them into one thread for reference like last season (click here to see), but as a lot of people prolly know the DH builds are all basically the same so I will not being doing full video guides on all the same setups. There are only a couple builds I didn't have time last season to make videos on the 'LoN FoK GR' (legacy of nightmares fan of knives greater rifting) build and 'ZDH' (zero dps demon hunter) build. Since it seems the LoN FoK GR build will be the top solo push build and the ZDH will have a proper spot in group mostly thanks to the multiplicative wolf change, I will be making videos on these two setups soon.
Those two builds are more mid-late season progression setups, for now I just wanted to quickly share the build I will use at the start of season 6 with a short walkthrough of the early season journey for newer players.
short description: early season build, torment speed farm, easy to gear, easy to play, very fast rift clears

I'm afraid that DH could be out of the meta even in 4p - those LoN Pet WDs does huge damage tho.
As you said DH have a potential in almost every situation - both AOE and ST, but Wiz is much better at the point of AOE damage potential and that's sad. Also DH doesn't have some solo progression achievements at the PTR, we were almost at the end with low 80's - but I hope that main reason of this fact is that competitive DH players haven't payed too much attention for gear optimization and rift fishing as other players did.
I guess that everyone here will appreciate it if some competitive players like philos, wudi etc will write their own thoughts\forecast for a DH's in the upcoming season.
Sure I can say somethings about what I think will happen, keep in mind tho meta shifts are not uncommon and what everyone thinks is the best now very well could change at anytime.
I want to clarify a bit on what I said about DH having potential in almost every situation. The exception situation is Rank 1 Teams pushing late season. No one can be sure what the groups will look like at that point. And that is like 1% of the player base anyways so it's effectively irrelevant for most people. Average groups and early season however, DH will be choice in 4p for their easy to build (free even) and extremely potent single target damage.
When I say that DH has potential as AoE dps that is just to say it is viable AoE dps not to say it is optimal, these words mean very different things. All I am saying is average groups won't be severly handicapped by shifting the group comp around... running a DH for AoE and WD for STD would work reasonably well. Likewise dropping the AoE wizard for a Charge Barb would also work reasonably well. Or switching the LoN Doc to a LoN Crus. From what I can tell average groups and exp comps will be reasonably flexible. S5 should not be a repeat of S4 where the one optimal comp was miles ahead of everything else. (that is unless someone comes up with an equivalent static build in 2.4)
The only major exception to this is idea is the ZBarb, shifting the ZBarb out will surely handicap the group
