When I sat down with lead “Diablo III” designer Jay Wilson last week to talk about the team’s design choices and his thoughts on fan-altered screenshots, he told me that Morrisroe was the one who spearheaded the franchise’s design changes. Specifically, I asked who we should blame for the rainbows. Wilson said:
“If you want to blame anyone for the rainbows, you’d blame our art director Brian [Morrisroe]. Because Brian is more the person who drove the art style into where it is. But it didn’t really come directly from him. What he brought to the art team was concepts and ideas — the idea of contrast, the idea of using color more, the idea of going for a more stylized look. Because what we were looking at before was more photo-realistic. Really trying to get something that looks like a painting — that was his goal. But the actual result of that came from the art team. And a lot of the environment guys, and some of the texture artists, they’ve all kind of chipped in to try and get the feel of something that was very unique.”
When I read this I thought It's good that he Quit, or as I believe got sacked and was told to say he leave on his own account. Blizzard doesn't like to show weakness, they wanna look firm in their decisions without getting swayed by the fans outcry.
Who in his right mind leaves Blizz in the middle of such major project to build his own company with the state of the market today. Couldn't he wait some more? who knows, They should interview him and not Blizz about it, maybe he'll spill the beans.
And If he leaves in the middle it's not going to help his resume
Anyway ppl Ignore to what he "contribute" to the art as stated above. It can't be bad to get new perspective to stuff after all his good doings /sarcastic off
Why not elevate someone within Blizzard to the job if it's not a major role still? If the art direction is completely done with why not to...? The answer I vote for that it's not over & done with, expect some changes.

No, If a game is a failure, I won't even bother going to the shop I will read ppl reviews beforehand at a gaming site (I will wait till there are enough reviews from ppl not the main site reviewer cause they are biased)
Than if there are enough high rating I will bother buying.
I'm not one of those ppl who order first thing and than hope for good, I go only for successful games.
plus If I'm playing a game I can judge its worth by only playing it stright out for 5-6 hours I don't need a month (that's me only).

I thought just now of something.
Remember the 5 symbols at the opening of the site?
5 symbols=5 games.
what if 5 symbols= types of char based on other games hehe
I mean:
barb= GoW
WD=WoW (like a troll with the mask on..)
and the others are left to be seen

You see the difference? it's so much better like this, I just hope d3 will get the same overhaul.

What I said is that the overall feeling of striping the game of it's previous elements is concerning.
The half ass reply of Bioshok doesn't help one bit in relieving my troubled mind.
And all this yammering is getting old without specific to the point facts.
Overall I'm troubled but I prefer them to release 1 big focused sum of one aspect of the game (like pvp/pk) without us having to collect here and there tidbits of info and making a conclusion of our own (and i'm not happy he post in wow forum these info)

I call this BS
The setting is very different, the POV and weapon types are too, need I state more?
d2 team would've never done it to their fans!

It wasn't for their liking the so they quit.

I've been replying to many kinds of threads since the announcement this last couple of days.
and I feel that little by little I get more and more depressed by the general feeling of displeasure.
Not sure if it's all the hype in all the d3 forums or the vague replies from Bashiok that set the game more and more to failing, I know it's won't be like that but I already have a certain picture of the game in my mind, yes at this early stage, and it doesn't look good.
Instead of tidbits of info I prefer them to just shut the hell up till they decide things in stone and not get "maybe" "I had the bad experience..." - just don't post till it conclusive (to Bashiok).
I just wished they will release more precise data about their plans so we won't have to hang on straws and getting pissed over nothing.
I think we all needs to lay off the forums till we get such info or the hatred is going to consume us.
Is it only me?
p.s: Sorry If my English isn't very good, I'm not native.

They were talented ppl which created diablo, I believe Diablo franchise is more theirs than Vivandi, and If they were working on d3 they wouldn't have butchered half as much as we see d3 doing now.
They were Diablo fans first and foremost not wow past players.
So they failed in their first game, trying to please the left d2 players without getting sued by blizzard or called a copycats.
They went the wrong track with s-f and 1st person view and we all know it's pure fail. plus london as background city is lousy concept.

I don't think in the game options.
But I truly didn't see it at first...very small change.

1) HG:L is new game without background lore, made with today standart gaming industy idels which are high because of the carebear kiddies 360 graphic lovers :P.
2)They didn't have the support of investors for long period of development such as D3 have. they were rushed to released half made game as I recall. for lack of cash.
3)Fantasy>>>>s-f in today's popularity charts.
4)They HAD to make some different stuff than the formula of D3 or they would've been sued of copyright trespassing.
5)mmm what is more to say they made a very bad decision and made it 1st person view.
6)....prob more.

Let it be the last thing on our mind about this game, than it will rock either way.
