If I wanted to, I would have to buy the game again. I don't have my Cd keys written down anywhere, and I don't have anymore discs. I actually might though, been itching to play it before I heard about D3 today.

Hmm, I think that if they don't include it into the game it reflects poor decision making skills by the development team. There is no reason to not include it, and many people enjoyed the challenge/risks.

I just hope that they keep people from using hacks to PK hardcore characters. Nothing wrong with PKs in games, ie higher levels ganking lowbies "pretending" to help them. You can always make private games to level and if you shouldn't "need" higher levels to help you.

I agree that it depends on the leveling curve in the game.

If you can get rushed to a very high level in 1-2 days, then no it shouldn't really be an issue. After the first generation of players hit high levels, getting help shouldn't be an issue.

But if leveling is tedious and requires a lot of time input, then some leniency on specs should be given. Such as a quest after beating all difficulty modes, or an option to respec after beating all bosses on a certain difficulty. (That is if they are still doing like in the old Diablos, same quests just different difficulties)

I personally hated leveling a char to 85-92ish, regretting not going max block or vice versa, and then remaking the same character just to relevel, with almost an identical spec just to put more points in dex than I had before.

From what I remember, if you made a PK char that wasn't an ES bmana sorc and put points into energy you were a newb. Basically base str if possible or a few points depending on gear setup, dex if going maxblock or for reqs, and the rest pump vita. My memory of D2 is fuzzy, but that's what I remember.
If they do something with energy so that it does more than just +mana than it might have some worth.

Found out about this site from an IGN article after reading about Diablo 3. Got pretty excited as I played D2:LOD for a few years, always been looking forward to D3. Getting a headstart in registering on some forums doesn't hurt :P
