I must say that I really loved what I saw of the gameplay video, it was nothing short of amazing. They said in multiple interviews that the emotion was about being dark, they don't need everything being dark themed to portray a dark game.
The new colour scheme is amazing the outside is just breathtaking for an isometric game to actually look this good again, I felt like I was back watching some detailed isometric rpgs but made a new again for 2008+. your artists have done an utmost top tier job and I implore you, infact no.. I beg you keep the art the same because all that lush enviroment will contrast great when you step into hell, if we head back there. I understand what your trying to do with the new game to really contrast the light/dark side and it's turned out fantastic.
You may not read this, but yeah you've pretty much reinstated my love for isometric games and this will blow diablo 2 sales out of the water with the new look, story driven content but not to get sidetracked
I played wow for a long time, but stopped because it wasn't very innovative anymore, but I always loved diablo, hellfire , d2 and lod much more and spent about 20x the time playing them than I ever did wow. I can't really see what a lot of people are complaining about in the new style of graphics but as an ex-wow player who didn't really find wow that amazing. I still look at your game D3 that is and find it breathtaking, wow's graphics never blew my mind like yours have.
This is YOUR game and you should take the art where you want it and I'm right behind you 100% of the way as are a lot of people.
TLDR version : please stay the same, for the love of everything, stay the same! Your artists are THE most talented game artists in the current game market, don't give in to the few sour people who complain. Stay true to your game design and vision.
Well diablo has taken quite a beating over the last few games, I'd say he needs to innovate himself someway, having the same old diablo would be a bit plain and predictable that he was going to once again roll over and die They will definatly do something unique with him this time I'd say.
I'd definatly like to see a bit more balance and common sense from the d2 skills, the tree's in d2 were so bloated so many useless skills. Maybe a bit more uniqueness between spells.
If you could choose a hybrid to meld 2 classes into one, which would be your most anticipated class in d3 not really worth making a new thread for this.
Some people bring up some pretty valid points throughout the thread and some are a bit silly, but I'll say it again please don't make it pay to play. It fixes nothing.
I'd be interesting to see what they've done with the stats, I'd say we've probably lost an old one and have gained a new one, probably just due to keeping appearances up and modernizing the stat system.

diablo 3 Q4 2011 because of all the complaints.

In short, a lot of games come in close to looking near to each other even if they are made by entirely different companies.
