I never liked how people did runs and rushed through D2/LOD. It cheapened the game and made it seem like a chore. It made me think, "what's the point?". Plus it looked like no one was having fun, they just "had to do it" to power level, and for what? To keep leveling?
And similarly, power-leveling was just wrong. Why not go through each cave and area with buddies and really level up the real way? Not cheat and get help so you can leach.
To rectify this, blizz needs to introduce better quests, more quests, char specific quests (as they are), and randomized quests.
I have faith in them that they don't want their game cheapened and routinized like D2.

well put man. they do need to put in a TON more things to do besides mindlessly bashing thru dungeons over and over again. and they should make it so that the player would want to progress to the next thing, not stay back and do the same thing over and over again just to lvl up, or leech, or whatever. its more of a psychological thing tho.
it might even be a good idea if they put in activities that are non-combat.
well u really gotta remember "luck". every game has it, even FPS's, but most-def RPG's. but i know what u mean. ive played a ton of mmo's in my life and at times, the newbies that im teaching how to play often get lucky and find good loot, and they havent even played the game for a week! the system ur trying to share shows how hardworking and passionate and adventurous a player is. but what about the once that cant control their playtime? the ones that dont have much time to play?
Prolly would even be overkill for D3. Blizz said that they wanna keep the requirements low, that said the 8800GTX not only could run it, but most likely run it on almost max settings.
Also take a look at some ATI cards, they are getting much better recently, especially 4850 v GT280 (I believe those are the new names). And with the advent of DX10.1 which will run on ATI cards also, there is really no reason to stay out of the ATI market anymore in my opinion.
oh ok thanks. well im still planning on getting an 8800, good thing d3 doesnt come out for a long time yet. right now i have a 7900, would that be good too? another reason why im getting an 8800 is cuz im also playing unreal tournament 3 and cod4
well having a more gothic/horror look most def adds to the "creepy feeling" that ur talking about. what people are concerned about, is that the world of sanctuary is a super dangerous and demonic places. it doesnt make sense to have colorful lights and rainbow color environments in a world like that and i know it's been "20 years" since anything happened in the story. and seeing that almost everybody here hates wow, well the game looks signifcantly alot like wow, and people dont want that.
i think es saying just a small reward. to make pking a lil bit more "worth it". but not to the point of wow, where is so essential cuz u get epic stuff, therefore causing people to troll newbies.

oh wow thats crazy. good thing we did this during alpha so that blizzard can still make changes easily. itd be cool if they make more horror-like. itll really make the game more ambient and more "into" the gameplay and story.
and whoever said they hate G4, i agree with u. they used to be the best channel ever because they would cover video games, and just video games 24/7. then they merged and screwed TechTV. and now only God knows what kind of fking channel G4 is now. they have cops, ninja warrior, unbeatable banzuke, and cheaters now???? WTF!!!!! they scewed up themselves as well.
glowing weapons show status and "pro-ness", so hell yea keep the glowing weapons. and it makes it more fun experimenting with weapon combinations to maximize ur monster bashing.
