posted a message on Who's the Boss?
I wonder if they'll do something like have bosses fight differently depending on characters/builds. Like king leoric might laugh off poison damage. You can't poison a skeleton! A frost boss might be able to absorb ice attacks when he breathes in the frigid air around him. Or a boss with a magical shield can imbue his shield with the elements to reflect them. I'm just thinking of bosses having states that it picks just based on what skills the player is using, and make the battles more interestin

So I'm gonna be 17 when I play it... *shoots self in foot*

I don't care that much. A little heartbroken, and a little annoyed that we're probably going to see a bunch of people saying "I tld u so! Haxxors =DDDDD".

I'm gonna try to be optimistic and think that it's going to be released very late 2010 or very early to mid 2011.

    i'm gonna be 21. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you wait 2 minutes before continuing a bossfight, wouldn't the boss have full health again?
probably but at the same time, you have full HP + 30% extra in reserve so it's in his favor to wait it out.

    Except that Zod isn't worth 64 Lo's.
only because of dupes. It really IS worth 64 Los.

People who say it ruins hardcore...no it doesn't. Every 5 minutes the barbarian will have 130% health, that is all. That doesn't make him invincible, it just gives him a little more tanking power every once in a while. You could use it for emergencies like boss battles, or for taking on champions that you're not sure you can take on.

The barbarian is supposed to be in the fray, so giving him survivability only makes sense. The other classes can run around using their spells and running away from attacks, but the barbarian has less choices for evading, and will have to tank more than the others.

How many times do you have to kill Baal for a Zod?

    0.00003 x 33 333 = 0.99999

That is more than 30 000 Baalkills for one Zod? How many have got such a divine patience...

Actually, x33 333 = 0.99%...that's still less than 1% chance. Multiply it by 100, and you get a 100% chance of getting one after... yeah 3 333 300 baal kills :(

But, think of how many players there are. I just checked and there were 32,000 players on d2. If everyone did 100 baal runs, there'd be a Zod rune on the server, just like it was intended

I just had an awesome idea. Imagine you're walking through the woods and you hear a yell for help up ahead. You go through the trees and then see a druid's camp being attacked by assassins. And when I mention these characters, I mean the D2 classes! They're using the old d2 abilities you don't see in D3. There are spirit wolves teleporting around and lightning traps being laid around, tornados flinging debris, and dragon kicks to the head.

Would be awesome to see that

posted a message on Respecs can be expected (confirmed, i guess)
I completely agree. Respeccing does not fit in the Diablo style.
I played dozens and dozens over characters through the years, and starting from scratch was never really a bore to me. When I made a new character, I would look into what build I would make, and go from there. Some builds made it very tough to play through even just Act 1 because I couldn't spend points till a higher level. This made it an interesting replay.

With respec, I will lose that experience. The build that required me to skip a lot of skills would never be made, because I would just wait till I attain that level, the respec to use it. LAME.

And I just don't see myself forcing myself to play with no-respeccing if it's made avaialble and everyone else is doing it...peer pressure!

personally I just wish they'd keep the tetris system. Saying it takes away from the action is bull. Some of the most stressful times are when you're trying to clear out room for a giant unique item that just dropped while you're still fighting off tons of monsters. The tetris system is kind of fun by itself anyway, trying to organize everything the most efficient way possible.

I like the original posters idea. Would solve almost every problem. The only benefit the 1-slot system loses is being able to tell what item's what like the tetris style (like, going into your stash and trying to find your Lightsabre, you know exactly what it looks like)

Arcane Magician - Magic, Healing, Summons a pet

Jester - Uses maces, Traps, Card tricks :D

Ranger - Bow / Spears etc

    That's what I wanna see :P

Dude I love your jester idea, but I'd like to take it a step further to make it fit more into the Diablo world (cmon, a clown running around killing demons?)

How about take your idea of Card Tricks and instead use it for a Psychic class, who uses tarot cards to invoke magic and summons. They also have psychic abilities to control monsters and use their powers to shred away at the enemies' minds.
