I never said serious Diablo fans will quit because WoW players will flock to the game and muck it up or whatever you think I'm implying. They'll quit because it may be the kind of game that WoW players would flock to. There's a huge difference.

Most of what you're saying I agree with creepsville. But you can't tell me you actually like that idiotic random blue/green WoW-shit lighting in the dungeon scene at the start of the gameplay video. About 30-40% of that dungeon literally looks like a top-down view of a WoW area, right down to the silly blocky statues (the monsters look evil/dark enough at least :P).

Edit: reading that stupid link in your sig makes me rethink my statement. A legitimate concern about the artistic direction this game is taking is totally different from random whining. What if the art/lighting isn't the only area in which D3 resembles WoW? Then a bunch of idiots who play WoW will buy it, eat it up, and Blizzard will lose what they have left of their true fans. The ones who loved SC and Diablo 2, even WC3, who then played WoW and were sickened by that trash. If this game is anything like WoW in stylistic direction or gameplay, I will finally have an answer to whether this "new Blizzard" (post Bill Roper and North) deserves any of my money ever again. A lot of other serious gamers will as well.

It's funny people want that OP pic considering the story says it's been 20 years and they havn't been invaded. Do you seriously think the world is that dark after 20 years of no invasion after the worldstone was destroyed?

I'm pretty sure diablo 3 starts out the way they have the game now and ends up getting darker and darker as you progress just like D2...

Seriously -_- Give blizzard a chance to show off later levels lol?

The worldstone is the only thing separating the mortal world from heaven and hell. It became corrupted by Baal and had to be destroyed. Wow lol...

I can't believe that people are still arguing about the graphics of the game... I thought you grew up.

Don't read if you think it's childish, thickness.

The biggest problem is the "full screen glow" that they carelessly threw into the Diablo universe. It doesn't belong there. It makes WoW look like glowy fairy fantasy land, which is fine for some, but it does not work in Diablo. A couple critical examples where fullscreen glow is clearly implemented (and how it looks when the ridiculous effect is removed, contrast is adjusted, and the textures are UNBLURRED):

The bottom half of this picture: http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7807/itshouldrh5.jpg

Look at the stone disks the barbarian is standing on, and the stone circle surrounding him. Look at how crisp and detailed they appear when fixed. The foggy area in the top left is messed up by the process that the fan used to correct the shot, but Blizzard clearly has the means to fix that if a simple fan could make this screenshot so much better.

    This entire picture: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l318/frostwake/Diablo31.jpg

Look at the crisp texture of every stone block that makes up the bridge, at the toes of the broken statue's left foot. Full screen glow absolutely ruins the detail and setting. You've got to be blind to disagree with that one! Look at the corpse of the goatman a few feet behind the barbarian. Tell me the first one looks better. Seriously, how any true diablo fan can support this WoW-loving stylistic catastrophe is completely beyond me.
