The darker version looks shit loads better, but i still cant help but be annoyed at the pastel like background and the cartoony look of the enemies.
Generally I don't really care for the photoshop versions since they would probably get boring after awhile and at times make it difficult to see enemies and other players. I'm plenty happy with the direction blizzard has gone.
That being said, I do actually like how this photoshopped screenshot turned out:

Well that's when you use a potion. If those instances are occurring too often, your character probably isn't strong enough for the area.
From what I've seen in most games using health pickups dropped by killing enemies, the "oh crap I need health" scenarios that lead to frantically trying to kill any enemies that may drop health before being mauled are fun. Getting that health pick up can be a huge relief when it does drop and if you do die, at least it was more interesting than in D2 where you often just had the bad luck of being hit once or twice and taken out from full health.
Bosses that don't require healing would suck. Luckily it isn't too hard for them to design some source of health during a boss fight, just about every game using health pick ups in the past has managed after all. The boss could spew some weaker minions from time to time, there could be some breakable bit in the level that drops health now and then or the boss could just drop some after you deliver a particularly nasty blow.
I don't think boss fights should be a problem. In fact, they should be better than before where you had to use a portal to refill your belt with potions for chugging or run around with your inventory open.
Oh don't feel alone, there have been plenty who have complained about the health orb system. When it was first announced, I remember it being a source of quite a bit of debate. I think it's just that by now most people that didn't like it have either gotten used to the idea or grown tired of complaining about it.
I was a bit skeptical of it at first, but I always hated the way damage was dealt in D2(too many enemies that were either essentially harmless or instant death) and I suspect switching away from potion chugging may make it easier to remedy that balance issue. Also, when I did that little experiment I mentioned in my other post, I found that without potion chugging the game was much better in a way. I guess it just changes the way it plays.
Video game, fantasy, Bashiok said, yadda yadda, blah blah and so on.

Personally I've never been a big Tomb Raider fan, though I've only played a small amount of the first one. I know some people just love those games.
Just letting everyone know that Batman: Arkham Asylum is $25 on Steam right now or $22.00 bundled with Just Cause. Yeah, it's cheaper with an extra game tacked on.
I haven't played it, but have heard wonderful things about Batman: Arkham Asylum. It may be worth looking into for those that want a good beat-'em-up. Can't say I know anything about Just Cause.
The Final Fantasy XI collection is only 7.50 as well, though I don't know anything about it other than the fact that it's an MMO.

I actually tried playing D2 without potions to see how it might work. I made a charm for a character that reduced the amount of damage received(to null the 1-hit-kills) and gave a fairly high amount health after each kill(along with some other changes).
Because of the way the monsters were set up it never really worked that well and I had to re-balance things every few levels, but it was promising. The game was certainly more fun in a way without potion chugging, even if the balancing side of it never quite worked right in my little experiment.

Yeah, when we first found out I teased them about it plenty.
I heard back from my dad and apparently there are several clans we're related to, but the most prominent ones are the McDonnels of GlenGarry (not MacDonalds) and the Lemmons.

There were a lot of aspects I liked about UT3 but ultimately it just didn't keep my interest nearly as long as the first.

Oddly enough, my brother and his wife can trace their families back to the same clan. Everyone is related if you go back far enough, but it seems kind of odd that they can see just how far back they need to go before the family trees connect.

I don't really know anything about those ones other than that they look ok and got mediocre reviews. I think Order of War is a strategy or RTS and the other two are flight games, not sure.

You just need to take the last bit of the address("v9j0qjg4OMo" in this case) and put it between [ YOUTUBE] and [/YOUTUBE ](without the extra space I added so it'd show) using the youtube button to the upper right of the text box.
It should then show up as :
As for the topic, I don't really care how they decide to display the skills list. The way shown in the pictures is fine for me. I haven't played WoW, but Diablo 2 and Titan Quest(along with other games I can't think of at the moment) both used very similar displays.
Since I've never played WoW, I really don't consider it good or bad when someone points out a similar feature. I really just care if I think the feature would work well in a game like Diablo 2 or Titan Quest. I guess I just don't share the same hatred as many hold for WoW. I just don't bother with it because it's and MMO and has monthly fees, both of which put me off from it. People I know that have played it seemed perfectly happy with it though. Anyway, I'm getting off topic again.

I was so excited for number 4 but then the gameplay was garbage because of a bunch of changes they made, especially how the health/beast bars worked. I really liked a character they added, the graphics were nice and they actually had some blood in it(not a big deal but 2 and 3 had just about none despite the title) but one good character and some aesthetics are pretty meaningless when the general gameplay is ruined.
And for a bit of sarcasm:
Of course, one game that will never be on a list like this is Close Range:

Try the demo, it's awesome and has the coolest story ever. The controls are amazingly intuitive and the AI is perfect. The horse boss was tough. People say Bad Company 2 is supposed to give Modern Warfare 2 a run for it's money, but I say Close range shoots them both in the face...AT CLOSE RANGE

I looked into the game a bit and it's more of a tactical/squad shooter rather than a "lone wolf" type. Graphics are nice and the gameplay seems solid, although I watched a couple reviews and they were not especially positive regarding the allied or enemy AI.
I'm gonna skip this one since I tend to prefer more of a lone wolf type FPS(Delta Force 2 comes to mind). However, for those of you that like your FPS games to have some more tactics and squad managing, this looks like a great deal for $8.
Steam has a great deal right now. They have a bundle with 2 Deus Ex games(Game of the year edition and Invisible War) and 3 Hitman games(Silent Assassin, Blood Money and Codename 47) all for about $17 or $5 each if you buy separately.
It looks like they plan on having big Square Enix sales each day this work week(M-F).
I got the Hitman Trilogy on PS2 for $20 awhile back, and although they can feel a little clunky at times, the games are pretty good stealth/action games. My brother loved Deus Ex, so if you're into FPS games with some RPG elements, I strongly suggest it.

When I watched this one my cat jumped up in the chair next to me and watched the computer monitor with very alert eyes/ears.

No life bar wouldn't be game breaking for me but I certainly do want one. It is something reasonably important in my opinion.

I showed this one to my fiancee, it did get an aww, but sorta mixed with a sad ohh. We both agreed that this looks like something our cat would do. He's always falling off stuff, getting himself stuck in things and closing himself in cabinets.
