Aug 10, 2009In response to this entire conversation I just thought of something a bit ago. The objective of the Soulstones was to capture the souls of the Three in them and thus keep them contained so that they could not break free into Sanctuary. Then when they did break free, we recaptured them and realized we could destroy the stones to exile them back into Hell. I mean, the Horadrim didn't know about smashing them I don't think.Posted in: Lore & Storyline
Anyways, Baal died and Tyrael was forced to destroy the Worldstone. The Worldstone's purpose was to keep Heaven and Hell in check, with it gone now Sanctuary is wide open. My point being, whether the stone was destroyed or not would not matter anymore. Baal's corrupting of the Worldstone undid all our efforts to outcast Diablo and Mephisto from Sanctuary. We did all that for nothing pretty much.
And Baal's soulstone was not enough to contain him, which is why Tal Rasha sacrificed himself to endure so much torture to keep Baal contained. So its safe to say that whether the stone was destroyed or not matters not. It would not have been enough to contain him.
Which leads me to another interesting theory. Remember from D1 that if Diablo was slayed but not contained in a soulstone, his soul (or whatever) would just go to another close body and reform itself into his demonic self? Tyrael was the closest there, Baal might have at the very least corrupted Tyrael himself if not taken over the angel. Who knows, maybe he lives in any or even all of our heros. Not enough to form a clear assumption, thats why I leave it a theory.
Anyone see any logic to this?

I like the idea of a rapid regeneration power, not as imbalanced as the invulnerability, yet still good enough to provide some kind of defensive bonus.
I'd say regenerate 10% max health every second, for 10 seconds.
Well, considering he kinda, uhh, blew up, I don't see him making armor for anyone
That is actually not a bad regen rate considering the character, but I'd regenerate his mana and give him a damage bonus of like %40 more for those ten seconds. Again though, I'd like them at random moments so you can't plan it. It adds a bit more fun to the game, and keeps people from using it when they really need it. Then when your about to die in a boss battle and it pops on, you get that good feeling of your character giving that extra push to destroy the monster. Know what I mean?
Jul 6, 2009Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)Quote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »Headed down? More than half the countries in the world are bathing in sewage water, including my own country.
Don't we all do what we do because we want money out of it? Don't teachers teach for money? Don't plumbers plumb for money? Marines fight, for money. I doubt anybody would do what they do, risking their lives, no matter how petty the reason behind said fighting is, for free. Give another thought? If the human race wasn't immensely stupid, we wouldn't even have wars.
I don't get to pick my wars (though I'd like to go to North Korea ^_^) and yes we fight. But money is only the icing on the cake. Who would risk their lives for money alone? Theres ALOT more to it.
Now lets stop this talk of wars and military (and PLEASE don't talk shit about Marines no matter how trash the ones you know are) and get back to the real issue. Who lives in Virginia that would not mind hanging out with myself?
Jun 22, 2008Why don't you try googling it? Actually make an effort to find stuff on your own before you go asking for stuff.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
First of all, do this:
Google "how do i make wc3 heroes higher level in world editor" as I did in this picture.
Click on the link I highlighted.
Press Ctrl+F and type in "hero level" in the little box.
And that is all there is to it. So easy. Stop being lazy and research your own stuff.
Feb 6, 2008Posted in: SICK Clan ArchivesQuote from "Thasador" »You need to stop talking like that. SLAYERS is pretty much the foundation legion that rose SICK to power....that's right, led by you...Dont feel like this, get your comp up and start recruiting. I have already instructed a few Assassins on bnet to help out the other legions and they are fully aware of your predictament.
Much like Great Greece and Rome, SLAYERS rose to supremacy. Greece and Rome fell apart by crumbling from the inside, and the fatal blows dealt by outside forces. The question I ask myself is, have we crumbled yet? I keep going back to when the others left, was that it? Is that going to be remembered as the blow that crippled SLAYERS and soon followed by the rest of its demise?
I've tried to motivate them, to get some activity. And they are trying, they have their own problems and such that disables them from fully focusing in SLAYERS, and I understand that. But SLAYERS is in need in massive reformation and there are not enough people to do it. I may just be overthinking this, but it's something that is staring me in the face and I can't look away. Time will tell whether SLAYERS will rise greater and more powerful than ever before and retake its throne as the centerpiece of SICK, but things are looking dark for my legion, and I am beginning to doubt my ability to finish what I set out to do after everyone left.
SLAYERS was and still is a proud force. As you said Thas, it was key in making SICK what it is. But I see SLAYERS as a warrior. A warrior who is to his knees hacking and slashing desperately to not be drowned in a sea of darkness. Eventually the warrior will reach a point where he can no longer fight, and will merely roam around remembering and trying to be once again the once powerful commanding self he once was. I won't let that happen. There is only so much I am willing to let SLAYERS fall before I sink my blade in the heart of the one thing I poured so much love, pride, and effort.
Now you guys know what's up concerning SLAYERS. Those of you who have been here long enough should have an idea of how big this is for me, and how it's something I take super seriously. It seems lately I am feeling very emo-ish and defeatist, but I try my very hardest not to let any of it out. To quote Eminem in a song of his:
I'm supposed to be the soldier who never blows his composure
Even though I hold the weight of the whole world on my shoulders
I am never supposed to show it, my crew ain't supposed to know it
I'd never drag them in battles that I can't handle unless I absolutely have to
I'm supposed to set an example
I need to be the leader, my crew looks for me to guide 'em
If some shit ever just pop off, I'm supposed to be beside 'em
And to be quite honestly, I've been doing a crappy ass job. I'm not fit to lead. My pride has gotten in the way too much, I've lost respect with many, and I feel as if SICK no longer needs me. I've been away from gaming for a full month and if anything SICK is getting better! I've only been in the way by causing strife with SENTINELS over unhealed wounds, and doing something good here and there. I'm ignored when trying to get into conversations, I'm disrespected left and right by people who, as ranked in SICK, have no business speaking to me in such manners, I've turned friends into enemies, and I am in no way making a difference anymore. People I thought to be friends have trashed me and tried to destroy what I stand for. One example from someone, and I won't say who:
"You are living in a fairy tale"
My opinions mean crap to this particular person, and I understand that. Others think I behave childish, am hot-headed, have a huge ego, etc.
In all, I feel like I am no longer needed. I was a fix for those times people have lost or began losing hope, and for forum activity. Forum activity is back, there is news on Diablo however miniscule, I no longer serve a purpose in this community.
There are times when I am soaring high in the sky, and I feel great because I'm making a difference. And then there are times when I am so low in the pits of hell that it pains me. And there are times like yesterday when I was soaring high because things in my personal life are finally looking up. My face is getting better after having Proactive for a week, I really like this one girl and she likes me and things are going really good with her, and my comp is close to being in my hands.
Yet yesterday I was bombarded with how my views are stupid and childish, and how having hope is meaningless and how I'll end up a virgin at 30 years old because I actually value virginity and feel sex should be with someone you love very much, or because I have hope, and am optimistic. And then another person rants about how I should fix things according to his way, and if I don't nothing will ever be fixed between us, even though he's the one that did all the damage. Two people I once considered friends, trashing me and telling me how things really are and how wrong I am. And yes, I don't consider either of you as friends.
Morale. That's all it comes to. I've lost it, I have had it lost for a while now. I give hope to men, and keep none for myself. Time and time again that quote I relate with alot. And I don't know what exactly happened this morning to cause me to snap and feel all this stuff, but here it is. Do with it what you will. Flame me, criticize me. Understand me, help me. Do what you will. Now will be the time where I find out who is friend, and who is not.

Aug 26, 2007I do belive Pandemic is a more suitable term for this. (an outbreak of an infectious disease) that spreads across a large region (for example a continent), or even worldwide. As you can see the spam has spread everywhere... except the spam forums, go figure. (Spam forums don't increase post count.)Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
I agree about this spam shit, Im not talking about one member its with a whole. Today I logged on to find 13 spam threads by one member, I do belive that calls for an ip ban? Upon the literacy subject, I hate to see threads with jumbled crap in them... Lmaozors teh nubb, bad someone who cant speak english well thats fine, they are trying to post good information and contribute.
I hate to see all of those 'How is my avatar' threads, though I will generally post my thoughts in them, I just wish they would put them in the spam section where they belong. Everyone is responsible for dumb threads pointless posts and shit spam. Their isnt a person on here that hasen't contributed to this. I would love to see it stop, but sadly that won't happen, the only way to do anything about it would be to elimenate post counts. And still Im not sure if that would work.
Aug 5, 2007Paul Sams exclusively denied the existence of a console game in development at the current time. He all-out dodged a few questions which you can interpret as him having all the information and not being able to disclose it, or having almost none of the information, but when he comes out and says definitively "We don't have console plans" then you can rest assured that Blizzard is not hiding some ultra secret console dev team.Posted in: News & Announcements
You can't lie to the public - but you can sure as hell be cagey about your responses to questions that you are unable to answer honestly without sacrificing some prestige and element of surprise for future releases.
As for his reaction to the Diablo question - like we've all known, Blizzard knows damn well that Diablo is a very popular franchise and also a great money maker for them.
I think it caught him off guard, because in my opinion, maybe this whole Diablo-less Blizzcon could have been to throw us off the scent a little bit. I wanted D3 announced at Blizzcon as much as many of you devout fans out there, but at this point we all have to reinterpret what has just happened to us. Based on what Sams said, Diablo is still a living franchise (and he obviously hadn't much to say past that) and that we can expect to see it revisited. I don't think Blizzard is giving us a giant middle finger, because it's clear to them based on the community and the continuing number of players of the Diablo 2/D2x that we're not just meant to be passified, we need to be satisfied, and they have a lot on their plate right now and as such will not be coerced into producing crap (which we clearly don't want) so all the Diablo fans will shut their mouths.
I for one wouldn't stand for a new subpar Diablo product. I can't blame Blizzard for their hangups with Warcraft, but at the moment it's their most popular product. Remember when Diablo was on the top of the heap?
Also, another thing I can't tolerate are people saying "Oh I saw a job posting for a mobile developer on the Blizzard site, Diablo 3 is going mobile, sorry guys you lose." That is absolute nonsense. How does anyone know that Blizzard doesn't want to create a new Lost Vikings game for the handheld market (cell-phone, as handheld might fall under console)? How do we know they're not just planning a stand-alone app that allows you to check Blizzard news and ladder status (beacuse they're pushing the PvP eSport angle more in North America now, and our addiction to cheesy cell-phone apps is flagrant)?
Let's all take a deep breath and rethink this. Nobody get up in arms over Blizzard's decisions. I'm sure they'll follow through with thier promises, and if you want to follow the ever-so-popular "decade" theory, we're not due up for a sequel until 2011. That certainly sucks, but it would give them enough time to have SC2 out and fully supported while WoW dwindles a bit and those fans jump ship for a new taste of adventure.
It's so disheartening, but we still stand strong as a community and we don't have to stop analyzing artwork and release dates and coincidences, it's actually kind of fun. Just use some logic and it turns out to make the waiting less painful.
Ok, I'm goin to go do some MF runs
Aug 5, 2007Hello to all you Diablo fans. I'm sure most of you are disappointed and downright depressed about the absence of Diablo at this weekend's BlizzCon. I'm sure it's hard to realize there can't possibly be a cure to this seemingly life-threatening illness. But in fact there is.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
There are multiple cures, for multiple patients. Some will vary on others, most will work. Some may have side effects, while some will benefit. Here are the cures you should know about.
Cure #1: Take a moment to sit down and think, and think along these lines: "Man, Diablo wasn't at this BlizzCon either! That makes two in a row!" Now think about what that means to Blizzard Entertainment. They are well aware they have omitted Diablo from these past BlizzCons, minus the Tristram theme song. You know what they have to do now? You guessed it:
They need to make up for it. And mark my words, they will.
The next BlizzCon or large gaming event will probably feature Diablo III. It's downright inevitable. StarCraft II is announced, that won't be out for over a year, WoW's newest expansion won't make it out for about 8 months, so that leaves a huge gap of nothingness for Blizzard to toy with. Just think this way: There are at least two large gaming events left this year: Leipzig Game Convention in late August, and E for All Expo in late October.
The E for All Expo is to replace the E3 event that, until this year, was considered a huge spotlight for games. Blizzard announced many games at E3 in the past, including Diablo II. The event is four days long. It may not house the official annoucement, but expect some feedback from the developers at Blizzard about "Team 3". GC (Leipzig Game Convention) is also four days long, and very large as well. Blizzard (I assume) will be attending both these events. Expect more rumors of "Team 3" to surface there as well.
My prediction: The GC later this month will unveil the Zerg for StarCraft II, along with more information on WoW: WotLK. E for All Expo will be the start of (if not the unveiling of) Diablo III's existence. Reminder - the GC is in October - the same month the final Sin War book is released.
Cure #2: Revitalize yourself. Get that "I can wait" mindset you had before BlizzCon. This is the hardest cure to achieve, but it can be done. The longer the game waits, the better it can only get. Sure, the Convention was totally biased, but BlizzCons of the future will be home to Diablo someday. World of Warcraft will eventually run its course. I can honestly only see one more expansion after Wrath of the Lich King being announced. The expansions become worthless to casual gamers as things get more difficult and require more gaming time and devotion. Hell, there are many complaints already.
But for those that say WoW is dying, you are wrong. Just a few weeks ago, Blizzard announced the game has 9 million active subscribers. That's quite an achievement, and having that kind of fanbase should enthuse Diablo fans, and you're probably wondering why I say this.
The reason why I say this, is because if Blizzard decides to churn out Diablo III, WoW will still have millions of subscribers that are loyal to the game. Diablo III would take some fans away, true, but when WoW remains a multimillion-dollar-a-year game, Blizzard won't complain. Diablo III itself would be a multimillion (if not close to a billion) dollar game. Trust me, you can all wait.
Cure #3: Take your anger out someplace harmless. E-mailing Blizzard telling them, "OMFG YOU NOOBS DON'T KNOW WTF WE WANT... LAWL YOU PLAYED TRISTRAM BUT NO DIABLO WAS THERE GEE GEE BLIZZFUCKS", that doesn't really fix anything. That is more or less of a complaint, something I admit to have done a fair share of myself. Blizzard won't respond to a complaint like that. You want them to listen, send something like this, "I really enjoyed the events that took place at BlizzCon this weekend. I was looking forward to seeing some Diablo, but I'll wait until next time." A message like that, will keep Blizzard a lot less frustrated and careless, and make them more optimistic that the Diablo community is respectful, and worthy of a new game.
If you can't channel your anger into civil thinking, post in the threads here. We'll listen. There will be plenty to join you, I'm sure.
That's the only 3 cures I know of. Anyone know any others?

Dec 1, 2006Situation 1: Ryan is lying. What a jackass!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
*Situation 1.b: Ryan works for blizzard, and is generating hype for the game. Truth and lies do not matter. His mission is attention. He has accomplished his task.*
Situation 2: Ryan's contacts are lying. Shit on a stick! No one will believe this excuse even if it were true. It is impossible to prove.
Situation 3: Ryan is telling <50% truth. Nice estimation!
Situation 4: Ryan is telling >50% truth. His sources were reliable.
*Situation 1.b could also be applied to Situation 3 and 4.
Therefore, I would say there is a 60% chance ryan works for Blizzard. Spreading true and false rumors to generate hype. There is also a 20% chance that Ryan is lying himself, or his contacts are lying. Finally a 10% chance Ryan is telling the truth.
Based on these percentages, When Blizzard does release information about D3, I am going to bet that 10% of Ryans information will be accurate.
I think bits and pieces are accurate. I would say some spells might be true. The whip weapon is true. About 5% - 10% of the story is true.
So, why do I think ryan works at blizzard and will revealed about 10% of truth??????
THINK ABOUT IT!
There is very intricate information here. Classes, Spells, but most importantly, the story. That is one crazy story. A story so crazy, so insane, that it just might be believable. Why... because a Blizzard employee wrote it. I wouldnt be suprised if that was the first part of the first draft of the D3 story.
Ryan joined in October of 06, he gained a nice post count to get credibility, and the posted this thread when the time was right.
Like it or not, Blizzard, as well as other companies have leak schedules to generate hype. This was a strategic move by Blizz. They wanted some hype going into the holiday season and the new year. Making gamers anxious of what is in store for 2007.
Blizzard said there will be 3 big annoucements in 07.
1. Diablo 3
2. Starcraft 2
3. World of Warcraft: Expansion 2
Anyways, this is the most logical conclusion. Ryan works for Blizz. But then again, maybe I do too...!?
Nov 4, 2006I'm sure everyone remembers this?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Chronomancer-Chrono meaning "time". Soruce didn't have time to try out.
Monster Tamer-skills for taming demons and others.
Templar-More atuned to melee combat. combat masteries like barbarian.
Warlock-Male sorcerer. earth/wind/psyonic
Fighter-Hand to hand combat. Recieves bonuses without any weapons or shields. Skills much like assassin but no charge up.
Also the source said that u could still use all existing d2 and d2 lod chars in d3 and that u could switch d2 chars over into diablo 3
(SOmehwhat sounds like and expansion to d2 lod to me)
The source also said that the game was a bit glitchy but this could possibly be from the new havok 4 system that was intrigrated
The game starts were you are left off in Horagath. Rejoice for prime evils banished, however, other evils walk the earth.
also the source said that d3 would include alot more char detail as in char movement for certain actions
exp u drink a potion ur char actually grabs potion from belt and drinks it on screen
Ryan also said he would be Visiting his source again and would be relaying more evidence (possible screenies) to myself as/if he recieves them
He stated that the programming in the game wouldnt allow screenies to be taken(as i have heard of this in most beta/demo games)
but i told him digital camera or screen shot program ect would work fine
Like i said I blieve it to be true but must put a warning saying it might not be because of the lack of hard evidence and to cover everyones ass's
Well before u go off flaming me. read everything i have to say. first of all. ryan i do apologize for my rude behavior. and here is y. my sourc told me 2 chars. and 3 of them r currently being held secret by the ceo the manager and 2 unnamed people. altho as u can all see it was leaked. how u say? the last manager was fired for leaking info. not this stuff. but serious stuff that somehow hasnt reached these pages yet. and wana know how long ago he was fired? close to 2weeks ago. intresting yes?
And to soothe some of u. the potion animation has been takin out. the d2 players on the team made sure of that. the havok is just a rumor however is not on d3. and sadly at the moment u CAN convert chars from d2 into d3. altho there is a current vote going on whether to change it or not. the kids they do have testing it dont agree with converting. and yes they do have kids testing it. but not ur lil 10 yr old kids. 15-18 or so im sure. and they get paid to do this testing which means they have a legal contract means they need to shut the fuck up or blizzard sues them. so i think about covered it all? i for one can second most of wut ryan has said is true.
oh one last thing. the people they did happen to send the beta's to. they made sure they buffed the security on the game. and they also removed all camera's, webcam's and anything else might take a picture of their precious game.
one last thing. i got a time frame on when the game might be release. granted its not definate. they cud run into more bugs (they r fixing bugs right now btw) or they cud get lucky. but anywhere from 2-4 years. so u guys can sit on this for a minute. grab ur toilet paper some of u may need to wipe urself.
