"AAA game content" refers to its production value, not whether its design is excellent or not. Ubisoft, Activision, EA, and Blizzard all make AAA games. Plenty of their games are poorly designed.Quote from Holztransistor»
"discussing AAA game content"
What? D3 is still a mess when it comes to balance. The zdps support meta is proof. I would not call that AAA content. Of course casual gamers who never understand the game mechanics and barely reach p400 will not see that (2 of my co workers are such players).

I like Jay Wilson as a developer. I do not know him as a writer. I do not miss vanilla Diablo.
No joke, you're literally the only person on this world that I've seen that likes Jay Wilson as a developer (or a person). How on earth do you miss Vanilla Diablo 3? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

You can't let elemental type be selectable. Everybody will choose their highest percent increase. If I have 25% increase fire damage, versus a max of 20% for any other element, I will always choose fire. It does more damage.
This is pretty much what OP was asking. Builds defined by their function, not their output. Personally, I love the way D3 is headed with builds and skills and stuff. I just wish updates would come faster.

But there are unknown cube recipes! In an interview somebody asked about it, Blizz dev was hinting at it. There could be special portals nobody has discovered yet because not everybody has tried it. Could make for an interesting project.
Patch 2.3.0 Developer Q&A

This season has been a boring one. Why? Because I accomplished my goals in one weekend. Technically, much less than a weekend if you add up all the hours.
Back in Season 3 I had to earn my items. When I completed a set it was a goal, like an achievement. I needed that set so I could get the fancy portrait frame. I feel good about having that portrait, I wear it with pride. Because...I earned it.
In Season 5 I don't feel like I earned anything. I went from T3>T7 in a matter of hours of casual play. The Firebird set was practically handed to me on a platter. I did not need to earn it, so I do not appreciate it. I tried the Firebird set dungeon, but it was brutally hard. So I went out and played to earn the DMO set. Then I did the DMO set dungeon, thereby completing Chapter 4. Getting past Chapter 4 and getting the portrait frame was the only reward this season, and it wasn't a very gratifying one.
I think progression has gotten out of hand in D3. Within the first weekend of Season 5 everybody and their momma was on T6 and paragon 700+. By Monday I already saw people inviting for T7-T10! This is ridiculous! Why have all these difficulties if players are just going to fly by them at warp speed? Nothing is earned or achieved anymore, it feels like everything is handed to you.
I want to play and enjoy D3. Not speedrun through it like a game of Spelunky. If I don't, I won't have anybody to play with because everybody is light years ahead of you speed farming T10 while they pass over paragon 1000 like it is meaningless.
What do you guys think? Is D3 too dang fast? Should it be a game that you play for 3 weeks and then dump until the next season? I don't think it should be.

Nothing you suggested fixes any problems. Most of it is just more/faster item collection. We already progress very fast in this game.
The artisan leg gem seems like a good idea, except it is not. There is only one gem per artisan, so only one choice. In other words, not a choice. It's more of an upgrade, one which is "mandatory" because it enhances how much items you get/better rolls/etc. It does not add anything to the game or fix any problems, it just makes progression faster. And progression in this game is fast enough. Some might say, too fast.

Custom Rifts idea is more on the side of game design than game playing. If the problem is you want more control over spawns and environments, the ability to "customize" your rifts, then maybe the Kube would be a better idea.
What if you could put in certain items like any recipe and generate your own unique rifts. Path of Exile has a feature like that. We can already spawn a portal to goblintown, what if you could spawn a portal into a dungeon of Kurast that had some special modifiers? Like Random Boss Encounters or Elites Only? What about a dungeon where you have to get an artifact at the end and then high tail it back to the entrance? Certain "static rifts" could have a competitiveness to it that you don't get with greater rifts. Finishing within time should not be the only metric by which characters are judged.

Didn't they roll back Gabynator or whoever during the season for some shady shinaningans? Once Blizzard finishes their investigation they learn quite a bit and bring that to warden or their servers. The more they learn the better they become and preventing botting, the faster they are at taking action.
But, that is the problem. Detecting it quickly, confirming it, and then banning or rollbacking (?) the accounts of the cheaters. I imagine bot programs are quite sophisticated in pretending to be a human player. I don't think Blizzard wants to ban accounts of people who actually play for 18 hours straight. Even though that might good for them (the players).

All because those people have not been banned now, does not mean Blizz won't take action in the future. They ban in waves, not individually.

Blizzard bans botters/cheaters all the time. They just don't tell you about it. All because people have not been banned recently does not mean they won't in the future.
Solution: Let Blizz do its job. If there are new programs and exploits people are using to cheat, Blizzard will eventually figure out how to detect them, and take the appropriate action.

They thought of that for the 2.1 patch, I think, making crafting mats a currency. Problem is, players won't value the mats if they are "automatic". In games there needs to be some permanence, some physical form of the item even though it is totally virtual. That's why rift keys had to be put in that slot in order to open a rift. It gives the keys substance.
Blizzard is not opposed to micro-transactions, but their playerbase tends to be. It would be perceived that players who can afford to store more stuff have an advantage over those who don't. If people keep filling up their tabs, adding more tabs may not be the answer, it may exacerbate the issue. That's one of the reasons behind absorbing legendary powers with Kanai's Cube.

I think it is a good idea. It will discourage leeching. You know how many times I have found a Wiz or WD with yellows in a 40+ rift!?
Way too many times.

They have to "1-up" the past. It is software. All software should advance from the previous versions. Video games are no different. It is a great thing that Blizz istaking D3 ahead of D2, instead of copying and pasting previous features because they were considered fun at the time.
Don't get me wrong. Horadric Cube use was a lot of fun. If D3's team has found a way of fixing game issues by creating a "superior" version of the Horadric Cube, then good. Software moves forward.

Because they care about Blizzards products more than any other company's products. Just go around asking about Overwatch. Game isn't even close to coming out and people already want to make sweet love to that universe.

You would think that would be a solution. It is actually not.
Consuming 50% (or more depending on double UI space) means way less information for players to use. You can get hit and not know from where. Also split screens means the game has to potentially render way more models and effects than normal. On console that means you are forced to either low FPS or lower graphical quality.
Sudden "auto-teleporting" is not always ideal, but it is a pretty good solution.

Proof? Plenty of women play games, even Diablo.
Yes, they gave a woman character pants just like a guy. How dare they! Surely, female characters' first priority is sexiness.

Now, when you said "reset the router" you meant just power cycle it? Or, did you mean default factory settings-it?
