Well, if you think about it, the bow class is basically the same thing as a caster class. In most RPGs, ranged characters do less damage and have more defense than casters but that's not the case in Diablo because all characters are DPS and are supposed to do the same amount of damage. So what's the difference between the two?
That's part of the reason why I'd like them to either not have a ranged class at all, or combine the ranged class with the support class.

Except there won't be a support class, cause it defeats the purpose of them all being DPS classes who can solo just fine by themselves.

You're all pathetic. We get a new class, who combines similar abilities of two other classes, letting another unique class be created, and you bitch? You got your summons. You got your poison damage. You got your curses. What else do you want? Boners? Really?

    Honestly, you all disgust me.

I hope there is no holy warrior in D3. It's so cliche and overdone. I know I suggested a Templar class, half pally/half assassin, but at least the only really holy part of it was the skill names.

Blizzard has stated they don't want a support class. That all classes will be DPS and able to solo effectively. Buffs will be limited - the Barb only has a few "Warcries."

As for the WD replacing the Necro, that's wrong. It has taken aspects of the Necro and Druid to form a more complete close range summoner. You could even say its a "nature" character because it meddles in life and death, different animals, and spirits for its skills.

    No.
I played Druid. I loved it.
But I need a change man.

There's gonna be returning classes in the expansion, I don't see where's the problem?

This is not confirmed. And I hope it doesn't happen. 6 new classes and 1 re-imagined is better than 4 new classes and 3 re-imagined. I'm not in the mood for D2.5 in 3D. I want D3.

The catapult would be a temporary summon that would follow you. It would move fairly fast, but could easily get left behind because it would not teleport. However the Siege Tree is for slow pushing, what with ranged attacks and barricades, so its great for soloing and shouldn't be a problem. All the spells would be temporary. IE. the barricades would act like Bone Wall.

Really the biggest issue I have with my own idea is the fact that some of the ideas overlap with the Witch Doctor - explosives/skull of flame, barricade/wall of zombies.

Ok, so I'm really going out on a limb with this.
In WoW you can become an engineer. You can build lots of cool gadgets and devices, most of which aren't even era-appropriate.

What I'm suggesting is a more realistic inventor class for D3, who's skills involve building and using things like explosives (kill mass), catapults (ranged attacks), magnets (push or pull enemies), mirrors (reflect attacks, or create decoys) or just simple walls (protection). They could have skills to smith their own armor and weapons using mana (or some substitute), giving them temporary bonuses.

Anyway, its a very rough idea, and I'm expecting a load of negative feedback. But at least its outside the box instead of all these "ranged and holy" class predictions.

Well then you may not like what's to come. D2 had a lot of active skills but a good majority of them were useless in most cases, I think they're wanting to fix this by making each skill more unique.

That is exactly what they're trying to do, and it is a great idea. Granted, I'm not too fond of the 0/1 and 0/15 WoW influenced tree, but I'd rather 15 active skills that are all viable in combat, with added rune versatility, than 30 active skills of only which 5 are remotely useful and work the same way.

All it is, is numbers. Numbers that can be changed. A slow firing, yet potent poison dart can do the exact same damage as a rapid fire, weak poison dart. Any talk about a blowdart skill ending up OP and not being patched immediately is absolutely ridiculous. And honestly, the only way it could end up OP is if it causes a long enough stun to make it impossible for the opponent to escape between firings.

    A) A Diablo MMO would simply be called "Sanctuary."

    B) The WD already has two short range projectile attacks (skull of flame and firebats), so having another (blowdarts) in another tree wouldn't be crazy. If you look at how Blizzard is designing their skill trees, its based on having trees which are self-sustaining and have a good variety of offensive, defensive, melee, and ranged spells in each, but who's focus is clear.

    C) Shrunken heads!

The necromancer in D2 already had shrunken heads

Not as shields. IMHO that whole bit was stupid - how do u block with a tiny shrunken head?

I meant shrunken heads in a skill-based way.

well a nice spell credits to blizzard... but where are all the fire, air and magnetic spells? :(

    Fire is Hydra and Meteor
    Air is Tornado

And I am very intrigued by your suggestion for magnetic skills. The problem is that the best way to implement it, some sort of pull or pushing on enemy units, is already encompassed in the Wave of Force skill.

If Blowdarts was a skill, I'd suggest it do poison damage or stun. That would make it more "logical" with a decreased attack speed.
