    Quote from "pernunz" »
I think Bashiok may have touched on that though, ronoldenburg, in that going back to town just to Identify things was more of a hassle than anything, and they wanted less of those annoying things in it.

I wouldn't mind if, when you picked it up, it had a list of however many unidentified properties, and then it kind of automatically identifies it for you, but only after it's been in your possession for a while.

Say, every 30 seconds (or whenever), 1 unidentified modifier gets revealed, so it will encourage you to hold onto potentially good things for longer, because the last modifier could be a really good one.

Suppose this would only really work for the D3 equivalent of rares, where no-one really knows what's going to come up on them

I must say i do like this idea a WHOLE lot. Just being able to identify it was crap because if it didn't have the right mods people dumped and went looking for another one. This would make item possesion a little more improved i think....

posted a message on Varying Degrees of Visual Effect on Weapons
    Quote from "Siaynoq" »
I hope the variance means fewer visual effects. And to save the really great visual effects only for the super powerful weapons. If a sword does like +2 fire damage, I don't want the whole sword to be up in flames.

Yeah I agree. I played champions of norath alot for a while and the one thing that bugged me was even the early inserts made the sword glow just like the higher inserts on weapons. It would be neat to see a bone helm with like +10 fire dmg make your head appear to be that of say ghostriders. Or a blade that had +10 cold dmg that appeared to be to frozen ice sicles. but +1 fire would be a coal burnt look to it. and +1 cold with have a lil frost on it. If that makes sense.

posted a message on new mercenary ideas?
I'm new to this thread and haven't found any post about this topice yet. Thanks to havoc48* for mentioning it. What kind of mercenaries should diablo 3 incorporate if indeed they do have em? Im totally against the idea of the rogue so don't mention it I will shoot you down with my cyber pistol (lol).

I like the thought of making buddies mercs. Hire em as a merc while they are offline and letting them get exp with you... that would be SWEEET. Or even one of your own other chars. Set like 3-4 main skill uses on the merc and have em tear shit up. would make for faster lvling runs. not to mention would be kinda of neat. what do you guys think?

posted a message on Any D2 Classic Players?
I did some research on diablo forums and wouldn't you know it... They charge you 10 bucks to retrieve the key.. To me that is TOTALLY outrageous. and the fact you can't pull it off your cd is even more ridiculous. So now i have the option of using an illegal cd key or bit-torrenting one out so to speak. that is a serious crime in my eyes. I just want to play the cd i have. Blizzard your bogus to double dip someone whenn they have the cd all ready....

why would i try to start an argument on the first forum i have ever joined? Not the argumentative type so scratch that. Just wanted to get the point out that i will defend a multi billion dollar game for it's ideas if they are good ones. i liked wow and i loved diablo take what's good and go from there i always say...

    Quote from "Dimebog" »
In response to the above post.

Fact number one: Warcraft player used to be an RTS player.

Fact number two: It is in Blizzard's only interest to rather cancel projects they invested millions on already, than release something that doesn't live up to their reputation.

Fact #3: Sim City is not a kiddie game. Nor an MMO.

Blizzard has already hinted that this new MMO falls under the same category as WoW, when they said that they have no plans to stop working on WoW and that they are not considering a 'switch' to another game (yeah, oddly enough, they are not compelled to stab 14 millions of loyal players/payers in the back). What does that tell you?

Sim city is not a mmo but think of the sim factor of creating a character and doing odd stuff. It's not that hard to imagine a create a character, get a job, live in a world and do stuff style MMO. And yeah it is a kiddie game. Or more or less a bubble gum pop kind of franchise if you think about it now. How many die hard gamers you hear of talking about the new house they bought in the sims2 or what ever. total kiddie game.

But really think about where most of that lag came from.... Damn map hackers and bots... o lord the BOTS... One playable char on an account and 8 mules stretched on to a total of 31 mules on 4 different accounts... the steps i have heard of blizzard taking in diablo 3 seem to be helping correct most of these issues. That is why i think it redundant that people bash implementing wow ideas into the game. Let's just say i believe that the over CHARACTER - ization of diablo 2 : LOD was just to much.

posted a message on Jeffrey Kaplan Moving to NEW unannounced MMO
Let's see Next-gen MMO.... That is so wide open. I take into consideration an earlier post that stats that WoW players are the MMORPG. Starcraft players are RTS. And the Diablo players are ARPG. So is it that hard to believe that blizzard may be trying to bring in a new audience of gamer? Think about it. Every company likes to monopolize somewhere. All I can see that Blizzard needs to do is make some kind of lame azz Sim City style kiddie game. You know they could and would if they thought it profitable. Not trying to offend but MMO is as it's stated a massive multi-player online game. Think about it, IT literally could be ANYTHING. and I'm not so inclined to think that blizzard is milking the big three to their deaths. Hold on to your wallets if they do a kiddie pop game because in today's society anything is possible....

I don't think the lag is going to be as bad a problem.. Think about the crap tons of wow players that are all over the area... Blizzard is using a 3d rendering software instead of a 2d software.. I read that in a post on b.net forums. They explained it better.
