I?m thinking maybe like a drifter demon hunter that went from town to town killing demons and other supernatural beings, but during one of his missions he is bitten by a werewolf. This would bring in some game play elements where when he kills enough enemies (like the barbs rage meter) he transforms into a werewolf. He would be a dark/tortured type, and this would bring in a character that you have to play differently depending on how many enemies are present. It would be a ranged crossbow orientated class that can use swords (with demon traps, such as pentagrams.), but at times it would be a melee tank. I think it would be fun, thoughts? :)

posted a message on what about... (Class Idea)
There's been a lot of talk about monks, ranger and thieves but what about some sort of mixture?

I got an idea from watching Constantine and thought that it would be a great class. A human that doesn't care for Angels but kills demons for earth instead. (Supernatural)

    Demonology
    - Holy water
    - Exorcism
    - Protective circles that trap enemies for a certain period of time (or deal damage)
    - The deal (Taking life points from yourself to kill enemies)

Crossbows (maybe add some sword skills also)
    - much like amazons but with more holy damage (example: Holy bolt arrow)

    Incantations
    - Player buffs (paladin)
    - Enchanting weapons
    - maybe some sort of resurrection spell (takes enemies spirits and makes them fight for you)

    thoughts?

I wouldn't mind having a side quest in which you defend a small town or castle from being over-run by enemy forces, and if you don't go and do it then when you go there it would be like Tristram in D2.

Having a few knights or villagers helping

This kind of ranger was more based on the DnD version where pets are involved:thumbsup:

The ranger should have a designated pet that you choose during the game (only one), and one of your skill trees is just skill for your pet. If you choose let's say wolf then one of the skills could be wolf pack, which summons other wolves from the wilderness. (just a thought)

One for bows because as we all know it's mainly what rangers use. (basically the same as an amazon from D2)

The third skill tree would be for things such as traps
    - bear trap
then also a version of duel wield that permits him/her carry one short sword and one dagger. Also a lot of moves involving different types of poison damage.

Picture Stryder from the first LOTR (cloaked).

Think of the pet as a more in-depth version of the hunter's pet in WoW.
