Blizzard has had the same method of developing games ever since the first warcraft games, iteration after iteration, and so far it has brought games that are practically unrivaled in their genre, that is quite an impressive feat.
Other gaming companies tend to just release sequels to successive games that are the same game with more story and a bit improved graphics, slap a price tag of 60 euros, and then buy a Ferrari after watching it sell like heroin.
Blizzard has their own way of working which involves announcing titles pretty early so the fans know about it earlier than most games. Also they have this pretty unique way of working where nothing is set in stone before the game ships, and they do play testing quite a lot. This does result in long developing times and non-existant deadlines.
Blizzard is known of this fact, it would be nuts to expect otherwise. Don't like it? Can't wait? Don't buy the game, don't read about it, go buy an XBOX and Halo 3 or some NHL game. It's simple, really.
It's their game, they can release it during the first manned mission to Mars if they like, they don't have any kind of an obligation to rush it if they don't want to. And you can put the money where your mouth is and not buy the game if you don't like their way of doing things.

I don't think thats right that they can get everybody all hyped up about it once a year and then be like "suprise, there's still no released date, hope you don't mind till next year when we say the exact same thing".. what happened to deadlines anyway, do they not have to use them anymore? I'm thinking i'm gonna be in school and shit by the time they release it so i wont have time to play video games

Is anybody else just ecstatic about the amount 'drop and add' BS that goes hand in hand with this game? I'm all for waiting for a game to be perfect before its released, but this is getting ridiculous. I just about lost it when i heard they dropped the skill tree and replaced it with "more of a skill path".. OK A, that sounds stupid, and B, wtf was wrong with the tree system? Why waste all this time changing things that everybody was happy and familiar with? Give us info we wanna hear (PVP anyone?). why not just finish the game already? If there's something that doesn't fit, it can be change after. at least give us a release date... Anywho, my frustrations out. All i'm saying is there setting up some BIG shoes to fill, hope they follow through..

Diablo 3 has been in the making for awhile now.. I'm curious to see what people think they'll be doing with there lives when it finally comes, and when you think the game will be released.. I personally think an early 2012 release. Unfortunately i'm gonna be gone to school in 2 years and most likely wont have time for video games, however.. there will probably be churches erected in the name of diablo by then so i'll just have to take a short drive down to the local house of prayer
Bullets travel faster than arrows. Guns require both bullets and gun powder, not to mention maintenance. You can't have guns without gun powder - so that would mean we'd be seeing all the other effects black powder would have on the world, too. Old guns have high rates of jamming and backfiring and are very unreliable.
It would change the entire world of Sanctuary, and that's something I sure don't want.

I personally don't see the difference between arrows and bullets. it would still be in the same style as the game just different name and ammunition type.
Does anybody think firearms in D3 would work? A character devoted to using guns in my opinion would be SWEET! Look at Fable 2 for example. How many fans of that game got overly exited when they heard that ballistics would be replacing the bows and crossbows. Is it within reach? Decades later, and already we have seen some primitive explosives. Like i said before, i think it would be awesome, what do you think?
think harder people. first of all blizzard is definitely not going to just erase ranged weapons from the game. so there is going to be a ranged class. i apologize to oathofchaos but i disagree. however i don't think that its going to be the same old arrow/javalin slinger like in D2. If you look at the already existing classes, the only one to survive was the barbarian only because it sucked in D2 and they felt they should revamp it to be an awesome slaughter machine we all expect a barbarian to be. i think its going to be something completely different. but still utilizing the ranged weapons.
