Okay so one of my main gripes so far is that most of the beta is planned out, you don't get much randomization unless you are in a dungeon and I am hoping that the outdoor areas end up being super random.
If I'm not mistaken, it has been said that Blizzard plans on making the outdoor areas not random, unlike Diablo 2. I think, though, they plan on having random events, etc.
In my experience Blizzard has always had very long development cycles. As I was hopeful like everyone else for a 2011 release, this is not big news. I'm glad they are taking time to polish the product and actually release a COMPLETE GAME. More and more recently companies have been getting away with releasing unfinished games and completing them through patches or DLCs. The worst thing is people are becoming complacent about it, accepting it as the norm. That's more unacceptable than delaying the game, imo.
Its good to see some aspects of blizzard haven't changed. Fan-based feedback is always extremely important. I, for one, thought the resource system for the demon hunter was fine, but I'm glad that they decided to go with public opinion and not be stubborn about the design.
In a little late: Have people forgotten that there are more testing stages prior to release than Open Beta? There are alpha tests, closed beta tests, open beta tests, etc. This can very well be screenshots from closed beta or alphas.
The game is balanced so that everyone is required to have a mercenary for the intended Hell difficulty. This will diminish the experience of the people that don't like mercenaries.
The game is balanced so that no-one is required to have a mercenary. This will on the other hand make the game "too easy" (i.e. below balanced difficulty) for the people that are using mercenaries.
Easy fix, count mercs as 1 player or 1/2 a player when the game considers the level of difficulty by the amount of players. Like in D2, the more players in the game the stronger the monsters.
What the fuck is your problem, Blizzard? You do -everything- right, and then fuck it up right there in a single strike.
I'm not playing your fucking coop and your incentive just pisses me off as a single player guy.
What the fuck is up with today's thinking that playing with players is better, anyway. Seriously? My worse experience in gaming are all related to the shitty communities that comes with them. Don't try to force me into that crap, and give options to everybody.
I can't take this anymore. What kind of stupid developers do they have. So infuriating.
I've actually read about this a few years back upon the opening of a diablo fansite dedicated to the history and the making of the original diablo game. I found it quite interesting. They did, in fact, make a pre-release demo that was available to the public at the time. I believe it's been made available again through the website I was speaking of, though apparently the turn-based function was only present in their first alpha build and the prerelease was based on their third revision. So no turn-based gameplay. If anyone is interested to find more information about the development of the original Diablo game the website I am speaking of is Diablo Evolution. Enjoy.
EDIT: Just realized the website hasn't been updated in about 2 years so some links may be dead.

This is my first attempt at anything like this, hope you enjoy it. All layers are available:
one more addition, one without the glow effect, in case transparency is needed.
