Even if the bonus is say 20% per slider that number could still be quite low to find Legendaries since that might only boost the chance by .05% or some low amount like that. Blizzard does not want the headache of stating why it works that way and that it is broken. It is just better to leave it hidden.

Blizzard also does not want to list what the extra legendary find rate is at each point in the slider of torment
I bet it is like 0.1% each slide.
I think they might still be fine tuning it and make adjustment to it during patches and hot fixes. It might also be changing based on the last time you got a legendary to tie in with the safety net for Legendary drops.

posted a message on Paragon levels or Alts pre expansion?
I say go with what ever you feel like doing and having fun with.

Paragons will add a few nice stats for starting a new character when RoS is out.

But it is also quite fun creating new characters at this time as well.

I am doing a bit of both at this time.

Throw all your gear away and dress only in Loot 2.0. Come back here when you rolfstomp T6. I dare you to make it before RoS goes live.
Yeah, I don't know ANYONE who is much above T2 at this point on Loot 2.0 stuff. Almost everyone past that (whom I'm aware of) is using legacy items.... which is kinda frustrating, but oh well it's only a month.
Depends on how mean they can handle T2 and Above. If you mean 1 hit kills than that is likely only going to be a few if any. I can possibly take on T3 on my Lightning Shock Pulse/Hydra Close combat Wizard since last night a few nice finds were found that might make it work but I would not be 1 hitting monsters. Then again I feel no one should be one hitting monsters in any Torment difficulty even with the best gear.

The main issue is that + Critical Damage Percent is way too strong. In my opinion that should be taken out of the game. The + Critical Chance Percent should stay in but the Damage should stay at +50% and maybe a few skills or items can boost it but then you might have a big negative such as less max health or you take more damage if hit.

posted a message on Why Legendary Items Are (Mostly) Useless Before RoS (Video)
Legendary items are not useless until RoS. Will they be better when RoS is live, that is a big yes. But that is more to do with loot 2.0 was designed to work well with RoS but it still works nicely in the Vanilla Game. A lot of the Legendaries are fun items and some are not really meant to be as end game uber items. Some are designed for odd builds or fun builds that might only work on Master difficulty but can still be fun to play with.

The only thing I can suggest is to try to play in a group of 4 and play which ever difficulty you can kill monsters quite quickly. I have not really found a place that legendaries drop more frequently.

You can reset the quests and killing King Leoric will drop a legendary but before you can click on Reset you would have to finish all the games quests in all acts. This will likely change to Diablo since it was a bug for King Leoric to drop a legendary on the first kill after reset.

posted a message on The Future of Diablo 3
Like Shaggy stated Blizzard and the team behind making Diablo III need to look at the whole picture and see what fits in the grand scheme. Making a simple change to how something works might throw the balance of the game to a new direction which is no better than the current one.

Skills, Items, Areas, solo play, group play, PVE, or PvP just to name a few components need to be tweaked and retweaked to find a balance that is fun and that works well with each other. This usually can take a long time to master if at all possible. Blizzard at least tries to do this long after a game is made and sometimes small changes can male the game feel fresh again.

Trading is fine as long as it does not become mandatory or the best way to get loot. It should be more of wow a nice weapon for a monk dropped and I do not play a monk but my friend does and this might help him so I either give it to him and sometimes he might have an item that benefits my character.

It should not really get to the point where we see spamming all the time of I need Windforce or Skorn or I have Skorn looking for best offer.

These types of games are meant to be about killing monsters and looting for items to make the killing of monsters easier.

posted a message on wtf is going on with this game...
I think the longest time I went without a legendary was about three hours of playtime if that due to the 2 hour safety net for a Legendary drop if it has not. Your chance increases until one is dropped.

I find the drops should not be better on higher difficulties, otherwise it does not make them more difficult. Difficulty should only be used to find the way you like to play the game. Some people like to play at a higher difficulty and others want to find a pace that suits their needs.

If you liked creating a new character why don't you just do that again and then again. Quite often that is how I play ARPG's. I have made thousands of characters for DII and over a thousand for Torchlight II and that game is younger than DIII.

You can also try out Hardcore since creating a new character is likely to happen at some point.

posted a message on A way to share legendaries (Clan idea)
Like Bleu stated if the trading is to open with Clans than we are likely going to see a reduction in the drop rate for Legendaries and then players are going to complain that the drops are too low. That's what happened with the Auction House

Remember Mystics can do quite a bit to legendaries to make the item fit your needs more. RoS will be here in a few weeks. This patch and Loot 2.0 is more meant to work with RoS then without it.

posted a message on A way to share legendaries (Clan idea)
What if I feel like the current system is good?

To me Legendaries should be self found. The thing is that Rares should be able to compete with Legendaries if they roll well and then with the Mystic being able to be enhanced. I also feel Crafting should be able to compete as well as common Blue Magic Items. The Blue Items should have the highest roll on the affix if one is possible due to lack of affixes on items. If Rares, Crafts (Non Account Bound ones), and Magic items can compete with Legendaries then you can still trade if you want to.

The issue is that Blizzard wants to limit 3rd party trade sites and quite often shady practices people use when they think that they can money out of a game. We see this in DII on Closed Battle Net and to an extent we have seen it in DIII mostly with Bots.

I want to see that the game is not invested with too much bots/hacks and spammers peddling the wares and to go xyz site to get the best deals

There are quite a few places to get common debris it is just a matter of finding areas wear weapon/armor tacks are located. Also playing at a Master or lower difficulty with no MF can help with getting more white/grey items from monsters.
