Dialogue box is a bit too gimicky. I liked the simpler designs of Diablo 1 and 2.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the dialog box. I like the older designs as well.
Not that I dislike it. But this adds nothing to me and the idea of having to salvage items constantly is a chore I do not want to go through.
I don't think you're required to craft items, so that's something...
The game looks worse, too. Its me or the game's graphics are getting worse? As in, they're not Diablo like at all? I got Diablo vibes in the old videos, but here, I got Torchlight vibes... which was a game with an absolutely horrible feeling. And even the very small combat sequence had unsatisfying sound (no kidding).
It's odd, isn't it? The artisan's shop looks great, especially the leveled up versions. But the buildings around it look terrible in comparison. They have that Torchlight look you're talking about. It just doesn't blend well at all. It's the same problem I have with most of the outdoor areas they've shown. The hand drawn look of the 2D sprites with the more realistic 3D looks weird. I think they could do a much better job on blending everything together. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

So far I don't have many complaints about it. The helmet is a little funky, that's all. But, that's something that is judged better from the game play view, which is the way I think they should be revealing these armors.
So you know, it's not a green set. It's normal plate mail. At least that's what Scyber said in the reveal thread:
With that in mind, I think it's perfectly fine. But I'm not planning on playing a Wizard, so I don't care all that much. You'll probably see me make a fuss when they show something for the barbarian.

I think he meant that it's not artwork; it's (other than the Barbarian and UI) a real game. I think his comment was directed at kgydkgyd, who said that no PC could run that. That's why he brought up his PS3 running games that look twice as good as D3, including the game in that screenshot. Speaking on that, I don't think it's the fairest comparison to make. The PS3/360 are tailor made for games. A mid level PC will have more power, but it also has a bloated operating system. There's also a lot more low level coding done for PS3 games, and code and ideas are shared between development teams.
Anyway, I still think D3 could be knocked up a notch or two in visuals. Just a little more detail in certain things and I'd probably be content. The artisan's shop looks heavily detailed and great. The surrounding area... not so much. Needs a bit more polish.

Uh, no. Just no. No, no, no. How could anyone be so wrong about something so obvious? That's not to say it's a bad thing that Castlevania is taking its new game mechanics from God of War. I think it's great. Just like God of War took a lot from Devil May Cry.
I don't think it's hypocritical when the game is a better representation of Diablo's previous look than Diablo 3. If WoW looked like Diablo then no one would have a problem if Diablo 3 looked like WoW, right? Anyway...
If it were up to me, the debate of WoW's graphics compared to Diablo 3 would be bannable. It's a tired argument that detracts from real conversation on Diablo 3's graphics. I also think that most of the naysayers (I'm one of them, although I've never brought up WoW because I've never played it) dropped that shit a long time ago. I haven't heard it used in a while, yet it manages to make its way into every single topic on graphics. So, who's actually bringing it up most of the time? Well... just look at your own posts. Your entire post has almost nothing to do with any of the discussion in this thread. You say you don't get the whole comparison, yet you're the one bringing the comparison into this thread!
sigh...

I thought I was about to enter a thread where I'd agree with the OP, but then you criticized the Dark Cultists. The cultists are, in my opinion, the most diablo looking monsters in the game. Are you mad?
I don't like the art style either. Not much else to say about it now. Like you said, they can't exactly change it this far into the game.
That makes two of us.
I'm in the minority on health globes. I like them, and I prefer the original design.
I agree with what Bashiok said about levels, mostly...
I'm fine with the glowing shields. And, I REALLY like the excessive elemental effects on weapons. It's not too pretty for Diablo. Go back to Diablo 2 and throw on some paladin auras. They're pretty, aren't they? Shit, the first half of the first gameplay trailer is about the only thing I've liked so far.
I'd go with 5 characters a game and call it good. It doesn't bother me since I'll probably play single player, but I can understand why this upsets you guys.
Agree with Scyber on this.

Diablo 2 wasn't complete. The main reason Act IV is so short is because they wanted to release the game sooner, which they admit to in the interview. Maybe they genuinely believe this is the best thing for the game, but I don't agree. The best way to go about it is good story telling, not shortening the game length. Some games can definitely drag on too long but, in my opinion, Diablo 2 is not one of those games.
I've never read that. They have always said its length is comparable to Diablo 2.

I can't believe this shit. I mean, I remember how good it felt when I reached Act IV only to being completely underwhelmed by its length. They're cutting length on what will probably be the most interesting areas of the game... again. A game of this length isn't that hard to develop and they have had a lot of time to work on it. Now they pull this? How uncreative is their team? Diablo 2 is not by any means a long game. To anyone who thinks otherwise, please go play Diablo 2 again, excluding the expansion. It makes a big difference when there's no Act V. /rant

You attack him because of his age, call him a virgin, and lecture him on what his priorities in life should be... Try not to get so pussy hurt over one guy's opinion. You've made yourself out to be a much bigger douche than he has, good job.
By the way, his post would fit better in this thread. I don't understand why he made a new topic for this.

I have always assumed it is that way already.
