posted a message on Shock and Disappointment

While I definitely want more, it seems like barely anyone is actually paying attention to the news, just because the opening ceremony didn't have what they wanted.

People asked for them to monetize Diablo so that they could hire a dev team to make content - they're doing that.

But wah it's not an expansion - that's because you already got the expansion (well bits of it) for free and are continuing to get more bits.

"But the problem is not the new stuff we are getting, it's that old things won't change! It's just 1 class 2 maps!!"

Are people not reading the news at all? Inventory manager, great. Crafting manager AT LAST. GR adjustments (hey Blizz fix neph rifts to have proper density and scaling health and not set achieves on portalling to a turn in first...) and Challenge Rifts - where paragons ancients etc WONT DO ANYTHING which fixes the problem everyone has been complaining about.

Although then the problem will probably be that one class is better, or that it's not fair because fishing (and I really hate fishing) or.. something will become the new thing to cry about (mostly by people who laugh at game that died in 2013 they don't play, yet somehow they're still here posting.)

I think that late 2017 is WAY TOO SLOW for the necro to arrive to have much impact, but that they're dedicating to announcing content for all of 2017 and also talking about reworking sets once again (instead of only retrospectives) is way more positive a sign than anything we've had for almost a year now. Changes are trickling in. Moving to DLC means more classes and cosmetics can also come in later. It's a strategy they haven't done until now that people have been asking for. If it makes money, it gives them an incentive to make more. To adjust the balance even further (seriously fix the crappy class sets, pls.)

Do I think they could and should be doing more than they are? Yes. And WAY faster. But things are looking better than they were a week ago.

posted a message on Diablo IV: Who is going to GamesCom?

"Most toxic and hostile in all of gaming" isn't even close to true.

As a random example, when people got banned for cheating in D3 they all posted saying they didn't do anything. When they got banned from Overwatch for cheating, they said it wasn't a big deal that they cheated and were going to sue Blizzard and petition the gov against them and hack them (and did DDoS them) and that it was illegal for Blizz to close their accounts and...

And then there's CS throughout the years, WoW when people played it, LoL, DoTA... those console shooty games, etc.

They also don't choose what to develop based on how nice their customers are.

posted a message on Best class for t10-t13 speed clears this seasons

I'd rather play Arachyr too but I just can't make it do enough damage to do the top torments quickly :(

In torment levels having a bunch of crappy dogs just slows things down. At least the one big dog kills anything it does happen to find. Having to rely on pets for speed is an exercise in patience as is. No matter how carefully you position yourself and piranhados, they always find some way to ignore the nice big group I gather at some point. And then you get to a level that has breakable doors and wonder why there is no disabled access...

posted a message on How many stash tabs do you need to be "satisfied"

Poll lacks the option others have said: all we need is a personal stash. One personal tab can store all four sets and a range of legendaries specific to that character, with additional ones able to go into the usual shared tabs.

Right now I have every class and each one I'm not playing has a completely full inventory for their sets and special legendaries, and I have to keep one empty tab in stash to empty the inventory of the character I want to play into, and then do it all again if I want to play a different one. Just one personal tab would fix all of that.

posted a message on Which class for S6 start up ?

WD! There may be classes that are faster, but very few which are both so fast and so easy. I much prefer the smooth speed of WD to the jittery dashing of Monk, DH, and Wiz, and Barb Crusader tend to have much slower startups and melee annoys me.

For solo levelling 1-70, learn how to chain Haunt in Fields of Misery. 700+ kill combos give nice bonuses~

posted a message on SEASON 5 - What Class?
    Quote from Maimos»

I am multiboxing as I do at the start of every season, seems to be much more fun to me since I mostly play solo. Will go with 4 crusaders this season aiming for the bowmen/phalanx build. I think it will be very interesting having so many bowmen on my screen. Also gearing the main crusader for solo will be easier. I know some people consider this is something like cheating but trust me it is not faster to control and gear 4 toons. It just gives me more motivation to play the game for the duration of the whole season. If anyone has a suggestion for another team/composition it would be great to get some thoughts.

I would love to see the carnage (to enemies and lag) of 4 full pet doctors.

posted a message on Can we henceforth land on a max group vs solo xp level? - 15-20x the XP for group players is simply wrong.

It's fine that group play is better, but the amount by which it is better is absurd. I'd be interested it to see how many solo players there are and how many group players there are, I doubt that it's even worth it to worry about whether or not the game goes back to being a "solo game."

I play 99.9% solo because I simply find it more fun.
I enjoy it. The pace of progression of solo play does not disappoint me.
But I do have to make an effort not to pay attention to people who play predominantly group. Personally, I'm not sure about your 15-20x estimate - I actually suspect it would get close to 100x the progression speed once you also take into account the snowballing effect of getting better gear faster while playing in groups.
To get upset about it would be like playing Hardcore and then getting upset that Softcore players could keep playing and keep all their gear even if they died. Well of course they can. It's a completely different game.
I agree and I'm totally fine with it - until they start making required objectives that most solo players can't do (without getting insanely lucky at least.) Due to the nature of Paragon the solo objectives also become much easier for those players, but that's fine, too.
I don't measure the game based on what other people are doing, but on what I am able to achieve myself. When I see parts that are meant to be accessible blocked off unless I go group with strangers and pray a lot, the design is flawed.

Best thing to do is to check up on PTR ladderboards for successful duo-classes.

Last time i managed to get in to PTR, it was only Support barb / Wizard.

How close is DH/Crusader or say WD/DH?

Man, unless you plan on being in the top 10% on the leaderboard (aka 100 or higher) just do a comp that you think is fun.

Most comps are going to get into the GR 75 range, only time playing the meta should matter is if you yourself are trying to be in the top.

*This is not directed at you or anyone else here, but posting this just made me think and laugh at those players copy the meta with their class then come into a T6 rift with a Bane of the Stricken. Like seriously people, learn to think, why would you Bane of the Stricken when you are one shotting everything via speed runs? Moral of this, just think and have fun :)

ahaha the number of Torment-aimed Stricken builds I saw last season xD

Everyone's so ready to be told which class and which build they have to play and what the best possible setup is, when a. we don't know yet; it often changes during the season and b. if you need to ask, you aren't going to be a top player so who cares.

Here are a few examples about "what will be the best"

    - S4 PTR, Shenlong's fist is amazing, but it is nerfed and now deemed useless. Uliana's becomes king.

    - S4 one person tries something new with dual gen and suddenly Shenlong's is on top.

    - S5 PTR Invoker's damage is cut in half, Firebird's loses even more of its damage. They are both now dead.

    - Few days later Invoker's is back on top of every build and class and Firebird's still has uses.

I'd be willing to bet that the top combo won't be the one that is the best at the start of the season.
