You got to admit... this is a bit of a fail on Sam's part.

On topic: I agree with most of the things posted in the first comment. A new act, monsters, items but maybe most important of all a new class or two would be lovely in an expansion. I probably forgot a lot of important aspects that usually go in regular expansions here but whatever :P

Oh and if they add new classes for Diablo 3 in an expansion then maybe they should up the character limit a little bit? Because I think most people will actually have around 10 characters before an expansion is actually released and it would be a shame if you actually had to delete one of your characters or perhaps even worse buy another copy of Diablo 3 to actually be able to create any of the new classes ;)

Yeah, I would have to agree there. More character slots would be much appreciated.

For a different approach, why not some UI changes for expansions. If they are going to keep the UI, primarily in the main screen, seen in the beta on release then I hope they apply some updates making it look more polished. =)

Ooooh... how about a different log in screen per expansion, kind of like WoW - yeah I went there!!! =)

posted a message on Paul Sams' Blizzcon Interview
While searching the web, I ran into this little interesting interview...

    http://venturebeat.com/2011/10/22/blizzard-coo-paul-sams-talks-mobile-games-and-giving-away-diablo-iii-for-free/

What is particularly interesting, and Diablo related are these two points:

VentureBeat: The World of Warcraft Annual Pass was a big announcement. It’s an ambitious decision, especially to give away Diablo III. Does it tie back into reports from earlier this year of declining subscribers for World of Warcraft?

Paul Sams: Honestly, what it ties into [is that] we always are looking for ways to show an amount of, I guess … gratitude or what-have-you to our player base. We talk about, all the time, how can we do something cool for our players that’s going to benefit them, benefit us, and that they’ll feel is a give-back of sorts. That’s where this started. There’s a variety of benefits that come from it. Certainly the players get DIII, which is pretty exciting. That doesn’t mean they get the expansion sets, it means that they get DIII, right? So we get people excited about playing that … they get to touch it, feel it, experience it. And then from our perspective, it also is a situation where they aren’t necessarily going to leave WoW to play our own game. We don’t want to take players from our universe and shift them over from World of Warcraft. There’s a lot of players playing WoW that have huge amounts of friends and family that they play World of Warcraft with, so [giving Annual Pass subscribers Diablo III] says, enjoy both of them. You don’t have to pay any more than you already do for WoW.

VB: Is the potential profit that Blizzard stands to make from the real-money auction houses in Diablo III an incentive to try and get more people into Diablo, by giving away the base game?

PS: Yeah, I guess it could. That hasn’t been the primary focus, to be honest. We thought it would be a cool thing to have our players be able to experience that game without having to leave WoW. We really view it as a give-back to the players. Will that mean that there’s more people potentially playing DIII? Maybe. Does that mean more people might engage in the real-money auction house? Possibly. That could be very positive for the organization, and I think for the players.

I just hope that the 5 free listings every week are stack-able. So if you don't use them for one week, you get 5 free listings the next week on top of the 5 free listings you didn't use in the first week, and so on. But I doubt it =(.

There actually are short staffs that are wielded one-handed. One at a time. You don't dual-wield them, because most of their techniques involve grabbing them with the free hand, or grabbing your opponent.

The closest thing to what you're suggesting would be canes, and even then they're usually wielded one at a time the same way. What you're ultimately asking for is for a dedicated martial artist to slap demons with two sticks like a child.

They do need to fix the monk's animations too, as was mentioned. It makes fuck-all sense for him to wield any weapons at all while charging towards his enemies, then put the weapons away to punch them, and take the weapons back out. In the real world you could kill anyone by doing that, because they'd be stunned into a coma by the colossal idiocy of your assault.

I'm sorry, but I just need to inform you, sticks are a primary weapon used in shaolin martial arts, and a child shaolin monk can do some serious damage with them - look them up. =)

    Excuse me? $150? No.

The SC2 collector edition was $99 while the standart was $60. Diablo 3 will be the same.

I've no idea where you got those prices from.

Sorry my friend, do you live in Australia? No.

Diablo 3 collectors edition in Australia is $148 AU.

    Normal edition is $98 AU.

Just a simple question for any beta players and anyone with further knowledge:

Is there or will there be an indicator on the menu or stat page that tells you how many hours you have played the game for?

This rainbow is exactly like that South Park episode where Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman write that book "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs" - where everyone reads too much into the story and start coming up with these crazy meanings. I believe this is exactly what this rainbow represents - NOTHING! =)

I want my Druids, and I want Scosglen. That is all.

I would love to have a druid class in an expansion. But what I'd love even more is a different type of shape-shifter class taking inspiration from the druid and the minions of hell.

Demonologist: A class that can crank out some summons, but primarily is about shape-shifting into different types of demons - it would be even cooler if the demons it could shape-shift into were ones similar to some of the demons you fight in the game. =)
