posted a message on Would you buy an updated Diablo expansion/add-on for D3?
I'd rather have them focus on new content.

Would be nice if they made a sort of endless dungeon system like Torchlight had, especially if they could make some more amazing randomly generated "dungeons".

Client is the same, the serial key is what's different. (I'm 95% sure) I had my friend that bought the digital version just send me his installer.

    Make that a 100%.

The only difference there could be would be between the retail and digital versions, since the digital version may be slightly different (in terms of the installer and installation proces, nothing visibly different but behind the scenes stuff, and wouldn't affect anything of course)

posted a message on Battle.net Account
There is no Battle.net username, your "username" is your e-mail address.

For display names in character, profiles, etc.

Nothing is certain for Diablo 3, but how it is now is that you choose your name on the forum, this is likely subject to change to something a little more similar to SC2.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Collector's edition WoW pet added
Personally i think this is just put in because they were still expecting the release of Diablo 3 around now, they'll still do minor content patches, of which there'll probably be a few before D3 release, all of which could've contained the pet.

As far as WoW is concerned i wouldn't count out a "major" content patch before MoP either, they put together a "quick" minor patch, with a new raid back in WotLK, as well when ICC was begining to be a bit boring

Not really, they could simply go into production shortly after and be ready for when the testing concludes.

It means content like a self-made map hack.

No, they have policies for that covered in the exploit section, there's also another one, where as i said, it seems they've basically copied the SC2 policies:

    Interesting thought atleast.

posted a message on Player generated content?
Was just poking around the support site and found this page:

    Diablo III Copyright Infringement Policy

If player-generated content is found to be in violation of Copyright claims by another party, the content may be:

    Adjusted or removed
Additionally, the content publisher may be subject to:

    Be given a warning
    Have publishing abilities suspended/removed
Be temporarily suspended from the game
Be given a Final Warning; any further Terms of Use violations will result in permanent suspension
To report Copyright or Trademark infringement, please see the Copyright Infringement Notice page.

Does seem they might just have carbon copied the Starcraft 2 policies, but custom content could actually be insane, let players make their own custom dungeons :o

posted a message on Best Android Phone? Help plz.
You can't use the CPU frequencies for much, especially not when ICS finally introduces a fully hardware acellerated UI, and not all CPU's are equal, even when the frequencies are.

Not sure what CPU the Note uses, but i wouldn't say it's clearly better than the Nexus Galaxy, and it also looks like it is too big, 4.65" is already pushing it, even though they managed to only make it slightly bigger than 4,3" displays due to the bezel.

    That's actually the Galaxy Nexus

I usually message people, Im not much for talking in one and I never use videocall or MMS. Wifi is awesome, I use that alot.

And yeah, Im gonna wait a while. The Samsung seems cool, gotta do more research.

    Thanks for all comments!

Well you should wait until galaxy nexus is out in the market to see pricing and stuff like that
    (the phone is uber awesome)
But galaxy s2 is also really good and it's going to get even better when they upgrade it with google android's latest oS Ice Cream Sandwich(which is already installed on Galaxy Nexus)

Price here is currently around 605-640€ currently (16GB model as far as i know), i suspect it will be cheaper in the rest of europe due to our insane taxes :P

posted a message on How are servers doing?
They're already "stresstesting", you have to realize that the servers are not running at the capacity to allow many more testers, as they develop their infrastructure, more people will be invited, and you will continue to stress test, until they got the information they need, at which point they may have a huge wave of invites to ensure stress testing of the final equipment.

posted a message on Anyone else worried about Blizzard corruption in the RMHA?
    Quote from nukewarm

I think I might not have been clear when proposing my question(s) to this forum.

I understand that blizzard would never publicly do anything that would jeopardize their business. I'm wondering if they will go the extra mile to prohibit affiliates (with less to lose) from doing just that, such as lower level employees, employee family members, friends, etc. Will they police themselves in this regard, to ensure no one is tempted to take advantage of this situation?

Lower level employees won't have access to modify the game, and if they're just halfway a decent company they probably have developement tracking going on so everyone (With access to the developement that is) can follow what other developers are doing.

But it's a pointless discussion, i can never prove that it won't happen, and you can never prove that it will happen, i find it infinitely more plausible that even if they do try to work the RMAH like that, there will be other employees not willing to take part in it(and discover it).

Blizzard as a company certainly doesn't need the money.

    Quote from Fubar84

I thought one of the main purposes of the Beta was to test system compatibility? They say that public games are causing all sorts of trouble but why does that have to stop people getting into the beta and playing private games, thus testing compatibility, reporting bugs and achieving the main purpose of the beta. Surely they can disable Public games and the re-enable them again when they iron out all the creases?

Again i could be totally wrong in which case ill shut up :P

Private games themselves does not allow more people, server capacity does, technically speaking they're seeking to test both system compatibility and stresstesting the servers, but they don't open up for more invites until they feel they can handle it, at some point when they're done scaling up their infrastructure they might want to have a lot of people invited, probably hundreds of thousands, if not more.

    Quote from Zinki
I would agree with this(based on what info we have). While it is a beta, it doesnt seem like the typical beta Blizzard runs. Then again, they did state they want the game to be a surprise and that the beta is for testing purposes more so than anything.

What is a typical beta? All of the previous betas back until D2 were betas of multiplayer content, there has not been a beta of Blizzard's Singleplayer content since Diablo 2, and back then it was also just a limited act 1 you got to play, again because they didn't want/need the story spoiled.

I'm not entirely sure if the Starcraft betas were also just multiplayer/skirmish content, but it was back in the time where not a lot of people had any kind of non-dialup internet.

You may say that World of Warcraft has a storyline, and that's true, but i suspect that are more for logistical reasons, they can't really spend time blanking out all of the story content, that's not just feasible, they have tried keeping the bigger storyline quests secretive, until the very end though.

So i would say that this conforms with the "Typical Blizzard beta" if we actually take into consideration what kind of game we're dealing with.
