What about a build that focus on damage reduction? I have yet to see this.

    For example:
Crippling Wave with Concussion rune - enemies inflict 50% less damage for 9 seconds
Mantra of Conviction with Intimidation - enemies inflicts 45% less damage

By just stacking these one will receive an enormous damage reduction %. I think a good combination could be to focus on high damage reduction and high damage output.

Are you sure these two reductions will stack? Even if you do it multiplicatively it's a pretty massive reduction in damage. You can throw in some other easy reductions like the Barb's Threatening Shout and you're taking very little damage. That's before you even factor in resistance, armor, or the damage reduction from defense.

Same question for the stacking of damage increases by means of debuffing mobs. For example would

    stack with

Considering the eneimes will melt 20% faster and you'll be taking almost half damage to your entire party.

Forgive me if this is common knowledge...

Do we know how damage increases and reduction aura/buffs stack yet? There are so many massive damage increasing buffs and reduction debuffs for enemies that if they all stack I'm really wondering just how hard it could be in a group of 4. Does the game just pick the highest and goes with that or do they stack in someway?

posted a message on Diablo 3 Has Officially Been Pushed Back
Kind of an interesting post on the official forums:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/3229085559?page=17#335

It's a long post so I'll only quote the part I found interesting. Perhaps I'm just in the mood for a good conspiracy hunt, but I am curious as to what would be the source of this delay. I'm also unsure if I think this guy knows what he's talking about or is just making crap up to look better on the forums. Either way, it's an idea I haven't heard many people discuss.

    Thoughts?

I'll have to defer to Blue to make statements on that if they feel its appropriate. It's not something I should be discussing.

The only thing I will let you in on is this: Mike Morhaime is the guy who made the announcement. He only does that when something major happened. More often then not, its because of something someone higher then him did that made his company's job more difficult. As the respective leader of Blizzard, it's his job to act like a shield when something happens that effects a major asset or effected the company in a major way.

It's a small lesson for the community: When Mike Morhaime speaks, everyone should listen and consider why he's the one reporting this instead of one of the Community Managers. Mike Morhaime has only ever made three announcements like this ever (including this one).

    I'll leave it at that.

A sad, sad day. I wonder though, did they rethink this? The article has been removed now. Something seems off.

    Probably just wishful thinking.

I will admit I don't really understand why they would announce this now. It didn't need to be announced for quite some time and it comes when hype over the game has never been higher. Seems like a silly way and time to kill buzz for your game. Most people will still end up buying it, but still... what's the thinking behind announcing this now?

posted a message on Beta invites done for the day?
    Quote from BallisticTomato

i guess i won't hold my breath :( the numbers they are accepting seem pretty low and I have no doubt the number of people opted in for the beta are quite high... and i have never really been that lucky of a person :xD:

Probably a good idea not to get your hopes up regardless, but I wouldn't despair just yet either.

They said one of their goals was to ultimately stress test the new B.Net and their servers in general. I kinda doubt they have enough numbers to truly do that right now. Especially compared to the several million people who will likely be trying to access those servers the first week of release. Right now it stills seems like they are mostly looking for big bugs with the game and with Bnet/AH. When they move more into stress testing I would imagine the number of invites will increase quite a bit.

Another thought is that the events of the weekend (all the youtube media streaming) may have forced them to send out press invites sooner then expected. They simply decided to call it the start of closed beta instead of saying they just let press/media into F/F beta. They probably assumed people would have been happier about the start of closed beta then angry that only press/media got in.
