If I have a party going, how close does everyone have to be to each other to gain experience from the killing?

posted a message on Is her Barbarian stuck in Act II?
I have a 44 sorc. and I'm trying to level with my friend. She's a 17 or 18 Barbarian. In Act II I killed, for her, the monster in the Maggot Layer and Valley of Snakes (altar, not montser) and asked her to pick up the parts of the staff.

For some reason she didn't do what I said (she's not good at video games), and now she only has one part of the staff.

I keep going back in (with her creating a game) and going back to those areas, but the half of the staff she is missing is not dropping for her. Again, she created the game, and I joined.

Is her barbarian stuck in Act II? If she doesn't have both parts of the staff of kings how can she get to the boss?

    thanks for your help,
this is my second question in 24 hours

    cheers

Starting with nightmare, you take a hit to resistances, and anyone playing that difficulty with you will too.

wow, thanks a bunch! I so did not know that :)

Hi, yes I'm a noob! My noobie question today is, why does my Paladin have negative in all resistances? The other player who plays with me also suffers from -X to all resistances, when she is with me only. It is a level 40 Paladin, and I put points in Conviction, thorns, redemption, and salvation.

Is this a bug of some kind?

    thanks

If you mean skill level, no. It scales linearly, so each extra point adds the same value as the previous. If you mean difficulty or experience level, I'd say no there as well. Fanaticism will always grant you more damage than Might or Concentration. Fanaticism also grants you attack speed & attack rating, which neither of the other two will do for you.

The only caveat is that in a large enough party of physical damage dealers, you might be better off with Concentration since it grants everyone the same damage modifier, whereas Fanaticism benefits you a lot more than it does your party.

Actually, what I mean is when should you stop putting spell points into Conviction? My friend plays Pally, and I play Sorc. We never play with anyone else.

It only affects physical attacks. source

Note that even spells with a physical damage component such a druid wind spells won't benefit from it since they're still spells.

Thank you. Is there a level at which is loses its effectiveness?

    Hi,

Will the Paladin's skill Fanaticism effect the magic of a sorceress? If it does, is it better to put points into Fanaticism, or Conviction if only a Pally and Sorc. are together?

    -Thanks
