Interest was lost long ago. I mean come on blizz you announce it's reveal in 2008 only to deliver 4 years later in 2012, must be nice to work for a company that doesn't have any deadlines or schedules to meet, I really think we should have already been playing this like at least a year ago, if not earlier - sorry to say but it's already dated before it even hits store shelves, Blizzards great beta debacle pretty much sealed the deal for me FUCK YOU BLIZZARD (Wilson, bashiok, chef boyardee etc )
From casual reading of various D3 Beta forums I have concluded that the reason there aren't any mass waves of invites going out is because the Beta is riddled with bugs.
Must be nice to work on a project that doesn't have to meet deadlines or schedules and has the mission statement of "when it's done" at some point company execs have to put their foot down and light a fire under the devs team ass!
And I'm really over hearing about how Blizzard only releases fully polished quality products, Diablo 1 & 2 were great games, never saw the big deal about the starcraft and wow games, some of the old Warcraft games were ok but nothing earth shattering, and that's really about it.
I wish Blizzard north were still on the scene still because we would all probably be playing Diablo 5 now and not queuing up for a chance to try out a bug infested beta.

I just don't like the way they are doing things, back in the day I had no problem getting access to the diablo 2 beta - I'm pretty much sure everyone got a chance from the start to test it. Now all this family and friends & press beta crap, now all these bullshit beta key contests popping as well as another Blizzcon coming up so they can milk the D3 teet dry, I'm guessing the average Joe won't get a go on the beta until at least late November and that's being optimistic.
I hear ya! I'm pretty much over this game now, was so stoked back in 2008 when it was announced - thinking at tops we will at least see a beta by 2010 at the latest, my interest has waned considerably.
Surely they can open up the floodgates and open up the beta to everyone or at the very least to those who opted in, surely they have the infrastructure in place to handle the server stress, never have I seen any game so drawn out in my life and I've been gaming for 30 years. I'm really just getting annoyed now and just want to try the damn thing.

I'm not here to troll but can someone answer me why blizz can't release an open beta? I mean they announce the thing in 2008, release a closed beta in 2011 with a release at least 5 to 6 months away! Another highly anticipated game I'm waiting on is Battlefield 3, they know how to do things right, they announce the game roughly a year ago? And then bam open beta starts tomorrow with a release next month, surely Activision/Blizzard can get their shit together like EA/DICE.
