Time to make an appearance I would say!

What we have is a guild dedicated to multiple games, and on the forums, this works well. I know pretty much everyone here, and even if I don't straight reply to everything written, I see a lot of different opinions of individuals that contribute to SICK which indicate that people do spend time thinking about various subjects. I have not however, seen a lot of people on B.Net for D2. Are these people active in other games? Do they participate with the others that play in those same games?

My thoughts are not revolutionary, but would represent a flexible way to increase membership base to a certain extent. It really should not be this hard for a guild hosted on a site like this to amass one full game of D2. It should also be a lot easier to play on one realm of WoW to a little extent.

My ideas for D2 could be summarized as such:

• In game, seperated from the overall Roster, appearance and activity will be rewarded by getting more pitch in the decision making that would affect D2. I can understand that a person has an opinion, but if he or she does not play D2, then he should not be contributing on a large scale that could potentially tie up players who do play, or should that be different?

• Along the lines of the overall requirement to join SICK, it should be made easier for the person who wants to join as well as the person consulting him or her. A nice way of advertising SICK on D2 is to run Chaos, Baals or even to be nice to people who ask questions. When a desire sprouts to join SICK however, a lot of the time people are turned back by the stuff that needs to be done first. This ends up be contraproductive to expand the SICK presence on D2 at least, although I can picture similar effects on other games.

• The way to make it easier could be for example allowing people to join even ingame. What would set "New Members" apart from the "Established Members" is that they be tied to the lowest rank in SICK (below established members) until they have joined the guild on these forums. They would get no voice on matters affecting SICK as a whole, whereas ingame they are encouraged to become part of the team and feel comfortable being with us. Members who are truly enjoying the group on D2 will be reminded in healthy portions that we have forums, and the guild extends beyond what they see ingame. Curiosity and remembering that they enjoy the presence of other SICK members are more likely to make them sign up officially than going straight to them and telling them to create an account here and post a 100 times.

• We are not a group that hands out free items every chance we get, nor is it our responsibility to rush anyone who is SICK. An increased membership on D2 however could change this; rushes, competitions and even other form of rewards are more likely if we have more members to pull through with it. More importantly, it will come more natural and be fun even for those giving. We are however far from this situation with numbers as low as they are on D2.

Similar things can be done on WoW for sure, and probably a lot of other games as well. With more people playing games together, recruitment could snowball higher for a while, leading more people to this site and SICK than now. People could find out about this place without ever having intended on googeling Diablo3. Most importantly however, all of us will have yet another chance with each recruitee to find another ingame friend to help amplify the main reason for all of this: enjoy what you do and enjoy the people who are likeminded by bringing them together.

That would be a rough description of a few things I would seriously discuss and consider. Expand the ideas, point out flaws and ask questions as needed. At the very least, we need to come up with a way to allow for individual decisions made for individual games by those who play it while maintaining the integity of SICK.

The 2 Paragraphs i made RED above are great. I've always been open for ideas. I have no problem with Ferret Making the entry/guild req's. In game recruiting is prob the BEST way to recruit players because they are active in game, currently know the game economy, and know how to play the game already. As opposed to guild recruiting through the forums where anyone who has spent a few months on the forum and have met a post limit can join. These people may/may not be active in game and may not even have a solid understanding of the game.

My d2 time will be picking up again here as my work schedule is back to normal and my fiance is working again(giving me much more free time since we live together) I plan to be on most likely this weekend to be getting back into the swing of things after about a 2 month break.

I have no problem with Ferret leading the d2 us west softcore realm as he obviously is qualified and has the support for it. He is ranked highly in guild as well already. So then let it be done. I will take the HC posiition myself as when i start to play i usually pull 4-5 members my way into the realm of HC. I know 3 already who will come play hc west again.

All Softcore d2 members report to Ferret from now on.
Since Ferret already hold rank over the majority of the members this leaves is no paper work to be done for Elfen. Also Ferret You have been elected as Keeper of the rules. So over the next few days you can shoot ideas back and forth to members and officers for feedback and thoughts until you can come up with the final draft.

Basicly we have had alot of new memebers over the past 2 months join. Dont get me wrong this is a good thing and i am very pleased to see this. butttttt
alot of new members are joining one day flaming alot of our discussions and ideas and then never been seen from or heard from again whether it be from not wanting to be yelled at by the strong following of this site or just mere not wanting to come back to the site

either way it is their loss

anyways this is how the game works

3. Give me the way u would like them to be killed so we can plan an execution for all to bear witness

4. if u cant think of a proper death for them just type Darkjays method(involves axe much bigger than needs be and darkjay spending about 3 days with the live body and periodicly posting updates on what he's done to it)

It means that we do not support them permanently. Means they need to support themselves.

The points are all through this post and many others I have made. Darkjay, Goodguy and Siaynoq all have had posts trying to correct you when you are so obviously wrong.

You continue to post on here without any information. I have reported this thread and your responses as a troll post. I doubt anything will be done but maybe it will be the start of getting rid of you.

I've decided to oust my inner nerd by writing a fantasy novel. I've had a unique plot for about four years now, and now I'm finally putting it together. I hope to create five books - the original title of the series and the seperate books are likely to change:

The Halls of Valor:

Book Two: Return to Power
Book Three: Siege of the Forest
Book Four: The Fall of Hyton
Book Five: The Final March

Here is a sample, and I hope you guys give me some input to whether or not it is worth continuing:

The Halls of Valor : Day of Ashes
18 Chapters

Chapter One:

The small band of warriors continued north towards the once forgotten snow-capped mountains. Temperature fell steadily as they continued up the foothills and to the base of the peaks. The band showed no signs of halting or slowing their pace. They were loyal to Slaythe, commander and king of the Terronians from the kingdom of Terron. Slaythe’s mission for them was to investigate the regions surrounding the mountains. The band was so far from their homeland, but they did not care. Their lives and fate were in the hands of Slaythe, and they would die gladly for him.

The lands the band was now entering wreaked of war. The ground was composed of pebbles and sand, with the occasional larger stone. Most of the trees were stripped bare and black from the effects of fire. Many trees had ropes with nooses tied to the larger branches. The quarry of the ropes’ were likely decayed to the point of tearing loose. Either that, or something had retrieved the bodies.

The lands were filled with scattered bones and armor. Most bones were stripped of flesh and muscle, but some still remained on some, reminding the band that the battles here took place not that long ago – and they were likely the cause for some of the destruction here. There were old stone ruins, once buildings, that had the conditions of looking ancient, but they were far from it.

The sight was grisly to the once again visiting warriors, and the overcast sky seemed to match their moods. All except one.

Slaythe had no intention to see his band of warriors again, for they were only to protect his observer and oracle, Oscopus. Oscopus himself was a visibly evil man. He was long and stringy, as if he had not eaten for centuries. His skin was deathly pale, and his face looked older than it really was. He did not wear a helmet. Instead he let his thin, long, ragged hair drape over his shoulders and part of his back as if it were a makeshift cape. His eyes were always pressed narrow as if plotting murder, and they radiated evil. His eyes were black – even where the whites were supposed to be. Oscopus’s face was usually expressionless, except for the occasional snarling of his lip or the random twitches that terrorized him.

Oscopus seemed mentally unstable, yet that was a fortunate and false accusation. His twitches were involuntary. He noticed he was cursed with them after he was tortured and punished in Slaythe’s innermost chambers. The memories haunted Oscopus, and he swore never to upset and displease his lord ever again – otherwise torture and death would be received, as promised by Slaythe himself. The initial action that lead to Oscopus’s punishment was long forgotten due to pain and torment. It was best he forgot that anyway.

Fortunately, Oscopus felt that his newest task was a much easier one, and he would most likely not fail this one. Slaythe had sent him to the Forgotten Peaks in search of tribes or civilization. If life was to be found there, Slaythe wanted it vanquished. All the people of Terron unanimously agreed with that decision, as they always did. Slaythe was the king behind countless victories over unknown foes, much like his father, Slayto, who he was so eager to avenge. The people of Terron always enjoyed learning their forces were victorious time after time again. They never seemed tired of eliminating the innocent and likely harmless threats against their kingdom and people.

Slaythe had not sent a scouting party in a long time. Almost ten years it had been. He felt that the search would turn up something, since he was constantly bombarded with an unexplainable and seemingly realistic nightmare. He dreamt he led his entire army to the walls of an ancient city. Instead of leading his army, he departed and headed for the mountains, where he found an enigmatic dragon inside the darkest peak, which always roared, "Come to me, Slaythe".

Slaythe could not explain the dream, but he sent a band to the assumed region that he had dreamt of. His orders were to scout the area and return with reports. Refrain from entering the mountains, especially the darkest peak. Slaythe truly felt that the dragon was real, and a threat.

Oscopus reached the top of the hill that he sought after. As he and the band of fifteen elite Terronian warriors joined him, the wind picked up and swirled sand and dry snow at their feet. Oscopus looked down at the insignificant display, and then looked forward into the vast valley. He and the fifteen were awestruck.

In the valley was a lush coniferous forest stretching for miles towards the base of a dark peak. The same peak that Slaythe must have dreamt of. Oscopus recalled a glimmering light at the base of the peak. He focused his energies hard, and his vision became far more defined and zooming. He studied the glimmer and did not believe his eyes. His heart raced. He gazed further on it.

"What is it, Master Oscopus?", one of the guards mentioned eagerly. No word from Oscopus’s twitching maw.
"Master?"
"It looks to be a fortress!" exclaimed Oscopus. The warriors began talking amongst themselves as Oscopus kept his gaze.
"A heavily occupied one, at that!" The warriors began to cheer. They knew what Slaythe would order upon it. Destruction.
"Don’t get so excited just yet, you fools!" commanded the slender man.
"I sense they are not harmless. I feel that they contain some knowledge of battle."
"That makes it better to practice!" blurted one of the warriors. Oscopus swung around furiously and raised his open palm to the warrior. A sudden force sent the warrior backwards, falling hard on the solid ground.
"You imbecile! Have you no idea what this means? This civilization might have been here nearly as long as ours has! They may be cunning with magic or adept with combat! We can take no chances. We must report immediately to Slaythe. Our lord will be satisfied with our find!"

Hoping to regain his once heavily trusted allegiance to his master, Oscopus prayed that this find would erase all former mistakes created by him, thus delaying his someday imminent death from his lord. Slaythe will like this. He will love this. He will trust me again. Oscopus could only remain so enthused. It was something else to focus on besides his grisly tortures.

As the band turned their backs on the oasis-like valley, an expertly guided arrow whizzed just inches from Oscopus’s face. The band stopped in their tracks, and the fifteen warriors raised their glimmering shields in a dome-like structure. Inside, Oscopus was hidden from view.
"Who dares enters this kingdom with a band of elegant warriors?" erupted the well-armored archer atop the nearest great boulder.
"We are Terronians, from the kingdom of Terron, south of here by many days journey!" said Oscopus without hesitation.
"I am not familiar with the kingdom in which you speak, Terronian!"
"Nor am I with yours!" replied Oscopus, naturally.
The archer proudly announced, "This is the kingdom of Hostilia! Land of the great fortress of Barricus, the Pine Valley, the Black Spire, and the home to great and mighty king, Durad!"
"We are no harm to thee, young…?"
The archer again said proudly, "Gantus! And who are you, shielded by your divine guardians?"
Oscopus emerged from the protective dome, "I am Oscopus, the observer and oracle to our great and kind king Slaythe!" Oscopus gritted his teeth after falsely mentioning the king’s "kindness", especially to him.

But so far as I remember they won't have that, so we'll have to wait either for E3 or the german event whatever it's called.

in the movie, the army of sparta wasnt allowed to leave there because of bad predictions from the oracle. however he took 300 men, the finest of the army, and went on since he couldnt take the entire army. and so the three hundred were doing great until the goat pass was given to the persians. as far as that i think, it was accurate.

You guys have to remember that the movie was based off a graphic novel. That's why it could explain historical inaccuracies. I'm sorry to say I was a bit dissapointed. I think I expected way too much or I had bad seats. (Had to sneak in because I'm a minor with my friends, sat at wayyy front left) Good movie nonetheless. The beginning was pretty slow but the fighting scenes make up for everything else.

i really dont know i hope there are better chars then d2
