This could have worked if implemented before release.. I think quite a few players will be very displeased if MF was removed entirely..Quote from Karalius
I guess no one will ever read this post, but I had an idea of my own.
Remove Magic Find as a stat on gear.
Add Magic Find stat that you can acquire after you hit level 60.
For killing a set number of champ packs, you receive 1% to your Magic Find stat.
Permanently.
After 4 months of grinding, your character reaches a cap of 150% or 200% or whatever Magic Find on that character.
Congratulations, you just solved gear swapping by creating some "end-game" for players who liked to grind to level 99 in d2.
How much money/time/gold has been spent in search of MF gear? For many, maxing MF is END game.

I feel the focus should be less the interaction and playing of "the game" but more of how the rest of life continues around them (family/friends).
Call it "The Days ended."

I wanted to know what the actual profit margin would be on each type of transaction (Equip and Commodities)
So I made an excel sheet and ran the numbers.
Equipment at the minimum sale price of 1.25 comes out to just 21 cents profit
17% profit margin
at the maximum sale price of 250 you cash out with 211.65
85% profit margin
you will have a PM of 72% between 6.66 and 6.67 USD
Commodities on the other hand have a consistent 72% margin
1.25 minimum sale becomes 90 cents profit
250 max sale becomes 180.63
What does this mean?
If your items aren't worth 6.66 consider trading down for commodities as the Blizz rake won't hurt you as bad with fees..
On the other hand, if you have high end commodities > 6.66 consider trading for equipment then placing that on RMAH.
That my friends is the fulcrum. 6.66
EDIT: my table didn't display like in the preview. I'll make a Google doc later

I was only missing 3 class revives and 1 Blacksmith level to get overachiever. This was done during open beta only. Beta-maxed at 4/22/12 2:56 PM PDT
Edit: One more screenshot

Blizzard will release D3 expansion about 1 yr or more from 5/15/12
as for the logistics of inferno post-expansion.. level 60 will still allow you to get to acts 1-4 just as it was before.. Act 5 Inferno will be tuned for level 70 (which is probably also the level requirement to travel to A5 Inferno).
What will they do about D3 Classic? leave it alone. Once the expansion is out, they will want you to buy it.
Did any of you play D2 Classic then LOD? They made you convert your character to expansion.
You have a choice in all of this. You don't need to buy new content. You can just keep playing D3Classic.
Do I have facts for any of this? No... It is just a correlation from past events and past video game titles created by the company.. But then again we haven't even played past level 13.. so when D3 Beta gets its expansion.. (D3 Retail) we will see a new level cap, 3.5 new acts, 3 new difficulties, etc.....
Since Diablo 1 there has been an official expansion for each of the games. They have most likely already planned for this on their side. Also it isn't just Diablo.. Warcraft series (not just WoW) and Starcraft, have all had their expansions as well. It is Blizzard's way to create sustainable income..
The only thing "free" was the beta.
