posted a message on DiabloCast Ep32: Who Likes Diablo? - Podcast
cant watch these diablo casts anymore, kevin's constant whiny trollness and zero logic really ruins the entire thing despite force being entirely mature. you always see a "kevin needs to STFU" with a ton of likes on it on most of them. they need to replace him with someone infinitely more mature and actually has well thought out opinions and doesn't just QQ and rage about EVERYTHING.

    what happeneds in EVERY diablocast:

Force - "ya so kevin what do you think about this?"
Kevin - "well i just dont... well i cant... well i dont really... QQ rage rage QQ"
force - "alright kevin you weirdo... haha moving on..."
kevin - "*interupts force with more QQ throughout podcast*"

so this build should have near the highest constant survivability in the game. and i say constant because you wont need to waste passives to save your life like the one that reduces all dmg when below a certain point of health or makes you spirit walk and regens life, you'll never need it.

you'll basically have a constant 60% dmg reduction from all mobs(bad medicine passive + jungle fort). since mostly all of your damage is poison and AOE dmg at that. cloud from your gargantuan, aoe effect from your mother spider, and the actual Acid cloud.

your 4 dogs with 60% dmg reduction, 60% life increase, and mostly all of their dmg converted to life they SHOULD remain invincible even in later difficulties. and with them constantly healing you and taking the attention off of you, you wont need to worry much about getting hit at all and when you do it wont be for much and you have zombie wall to further block enemies.

id say the only flaw of this build would be mana, but since mana regens at a much higher rate then D2 mana, and with gear helping with that as well. as long as you arent spamming spells like a madman nonstop i dont see much issue.

posted a message on Book of Cain being released early
releasing a book early is far different then the game haha. i WISH it would be released early but its just not going to happen. they always announce release dates 8-12 weeks in advance. so until we hear a release date constantly assume its AT LEAST 10+ weeks in the future. :P

for my theory i suspect we will definitely hear a release date by the end of the facebook beta sweepstakes giveaway which goes until mid december.

I agree with you that spectral blade is a terrible skill to rely on for damage. But I've came up with a really good melee wizard build... most/all of the damage does NOT rely on right-clicking enemies.. but ALL the damage DOES rely on physical-type dmg.

Now this is a HC melee wizard build... so it is modified to be more defensive than I would make a SC one.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#hcQWiV!fWY!ZaZbcY

Some notes: I still melee attack.. this build is for weapon/sword ; melee attacks is what regenerates my mana

Basic damage: Put up diamond armor (on a 10sec cooldown), teleport in the middle, and spam explosive blast
Wave of Force + melee attack to regain mana

granted your build has nice survivability but its extremely low dmg output and almost no melee dmg makes it a bad build AND theres no way it can be considered even a 'battlemage' let alone a melee wizard. your only using melee to regen arcane power (not mana ^_^) which already regens at an insane rate, and since you have no spammable high arcane spending spells (explosive blast has a 1 second CD and wave of force 15 second CD) its pointless to use your melee attack to regen arcane power when you wont ever be spending enough of it to need to do that. lol

Aside from the offputting graphics/art I was pretty giddy for D3 until SC2 came out. Then I dialed my expectations way back. I expect to play it for a month or two and then not touch it again for a long time. Which is fine really, that's how most good games work. It's just not worth 4 years of hype. I have a feeling when it's all said and done the D2: Median mod will still be the best Diablo experience.

why is D3 only going to last for a month for you? and how would D2 give you a better "diablo" experience?

I am very excited for the new game. I think it will have some of the best aspects of D2 and all of the great newer technology / graphics. Can't wait!

As for WoW... quitting WoW was the best thing I ever did. That game sucks your life away and is truly like being addicted to a drug. I'm going to play D3 a lot, but hopefully I will be able to realize when I'm playing too much and moderate my playtime.

i think SOMEONE is in some serious denial.... :P

you'll play D3 just as much. as will i! :o

..people usualy dont realize that the changes in D3, are not because someone woke up one fine morning and said: "i want to make D3 to be so and so, because i am the sharpest knife on the table"... all these changes came after hours upon hours of brainstorming among the dev's, and they tried many different approaches for to optimize the game in the best possible way...
they came with this build probably because it ended up to be the most optimal... and personally i agree with the result... after seeing all the mechanics of how all this thing work, i dont believe that i can go back to play in the D2 game-style...

sadly no one cares HOW the changes came to be. just that there are changes

Completely agree with you. I hated in Diablo II having to spend skill points in abilities I wouldn't ever use just because it led to another ability I wanted, or because of the synergies. It always feels crappy to me to have to do that, and WoW did it too in their talent trees and it felt crappy there too.

I personally hated attribute points because I wasn't 100% sure if I was making the best decision on where to spend them. Sure, I could look it up and know that I should have a min of this or that and dump the rest in one stat, etc, but I didn't feel like I should have to go and look up stuff like that.

I think it's right to say that in most cases the people who are hating on Diablo III and certain aspects of it is because they don't know enough about it. It's a change, people hate change, but they don't know how it's changed, so they automatically hate it instead of learning more about it. Most of these people are still probably going to buy the game anyway, then they can decide if they like it or not, after they've actually played it.

precisely. i just reinstalled D2 and first 3 things i hated after 15 min of playing was constant potion spamming, skill points wasted, and using attribute points. just makes me all that much more excited for D3.

the 2 greatest changes IMO would be the no pots/healthglobe feature and most of all the generator skills. which technically is one big change to amount for the no pots feature. so you can ALWAYS be attacking. in D2 your constantly fleeing when you run out of mana with pretty much EVERY class. so annoying. and end-game you HAVE to have a merc with insight basically to constantly attack and then he dies. DOH fleeing again and paying 50k to res him. lol. so many flaws in D2 being fixed makes D3 the greatest ARPG by a million miles

MUCH MUCH better. very similar to the build i will be using for my first playthrough of the game to farm inferno for him and my other chars :)

the majority of people who thinks the changes in D3 arent good is because they dont UNDERSTAND them or just don't think.

they think "OMFG NO SKILL POINTS? FAIL FAIL FAIL" without realizing theres 2.4 trillion skill combo's and all the skills are actually useful VS D2 which had entire skill trees that were worthless. D2 had a total of 20-30 VIABLE end-game builds between ALL characters. each class in D3 will have HUNDREDS EACH. ive talked with many people and once i explain it like this they go "OHHHH...... sweet no skill points!" lol.

and same with attribute points, most people aggree it was an extremely flawed system in D2 and we are better off without them. but they see its removal and cry wolf without thinking about it at all.

and lastly the "pvp crowd" which humorously enough think they are the "majority" of diablo players and freak out about no pvp rankings or ladder in D3 and say "lolol this game will fail". yes because there was a vast majority of pvp options in D2 right? and EVERYONE played D2 for pvp right? i mean ya you dont see but <1% of games that are "D U E L Z" games between norm nm and hell combined but hey i'm sure that they are still the majority right? :P

did you change your build? because all 3 of your passives arent good. lol. you need zombie handler and 2 others that are not the ones you have. with all your pets tanking for you, you wont need to waste a passive that is strictly for survival.
