I play male characters because I like to feel somewhat immersed and connected to my character. I also like to have my character represent a little bit of myself (even if it only is my gender).
However there's nothing wrong with playing female characters. As mentioned earlier some of the best characters in video game history are female.
Lara Croft, Samus, Sarah Kerrigan, Sniper Wolf, and Meryl (The last two for my MGS bros out there.)
D3 first announced: Barb
Monk was announced: Monk
DH was announced: Monk
After hours of Beta: DH for sure.
I love a fast paced play-style. Evasive Fire with Tactical Advantage passive makes for some great evading and all around utility. Since I plan on PvPing a lot; it just feels fun and natural for me. Plus, I'll get to experiment with Rockets! WHO DOESN'T LOVE ROCKETS?!
If you're looking for people to play with, run through the game on normal in public games, it really doesn't matter if people are leeching here, it's relatively easy. You can friend people who are cool and/or pull their own weight. After running through on public for Normal and maybe even Nightmare, you should have a good group of people to get some serious shit done in the later difficulties.
And above all else... check out my Beta Buddies thread! Everyone from Dfans that I've played with so far has been pretty cool and knows how to play effectively. There's no reason not to enjoy the game with this community, hell, we've all been on here talking about it every day together.
(Assume all cooldowns and durations apply!)
For example: You couldn't pick Monk's serenity and become immortal indefinitely! However it could still protect you for 3 seconds on a 45 second cooldown.
Also... Picking Wizard's Teleport only teleports you 35 yards on a 16 second cooldown. (Not across the world on a 16 second cooldown.)
I think I would choose Monk's Breath of Heaven. Whenever someone becomes sick or injured, I could heal them. (Obviously including myself) Then I could drop out of my senior year of college and become a Doctor, and pretty much become rich as hell. =)
I like these ideas. But, we still need some form of going "hostile" in places other than just the pvp arenas. Dueling is great but surpise attacks really get your blood racing.
Thanks.
And I definitely agree. I think among the dedicated PvP modes they should definitely add hostility and the ability to start a duel with a friendly hero if both parties consent.
With the addition of "old style attributes," Barbarian is the only class that uses Strength as a primary attribute. I too, would love a heavy shield-using class.
I really hope there is a lot of rate scaling per level. If level 7 runes are dropping everywhere in Inferno, that would take all the fun out of finding them.

...and that's why I opted in and entered every damn contest until I finally won on the final week of the Twitter contest. =)

I always felt that this was the case for D3. Your play-style determines "customization."
Good read.
