The barbarian has always been my favorite class. The idead of getting into the messy part of the fight and melting faces with rapid swings and being the last man standing.
This build plays on three main aspects. Its a berserker build thats for sure. But it also attempts to play of increases in crit chance that will cause not only increase damage but also allow for more health globes and gear to drop. The theory is simply. As long as you got globes and good gear the rest of the build is about keeping you in the fight. The rune on Ancient spear is also following this approach; choosing the active healing option.
make no mistake this is a fighting build. Siesmic slam was added to the build to allow for some serious AoE damage. The rune modifier here making the AoE stick around a while as an after affect.
I'm really looking forward to trying this build out once the game is release.
I think some players have missed the point for the rune system revamp.
In Diablo 2 the runes were nothing more than weapon and armor modifications.
They added desirable stats to your items.. but that was it..
And even in this limited implementation.. the most desirable runes were coveted so much they became a form a currency in the game.
So now we fast forward to diablo 3 where runes no longer add stats but fundamentally change how abilities work..
What are the foreseeable reciprocations?
In order for them to feel special the drop rate would need to be fairly low. But if its too low then it might prevent many players from being able to play their characters they way they hoped or desired to...
Those who are fortunate to have extra runes they dont need will likely find they have an item worth more than many players than most other items in the game.
What blizzard did was return the game back to its roots. Gear.. not abilities are the rewards.. You will be able to play your character as you see fit.
