It is a very nice and interesting addition, but the game still has the sense of..."on rails". The skills, though buffed, will still seem very generic and bland. The loot, though boosted by MF, will still be very boring and the affixes lame.

Still will be neat to check out, though.

I think much of your message is being lost in your examples. I admit that I think they were a bit too far fetched but I understand what you're trying to communicate, and I do agree.

I am extremely bored with Diablo III. I'm also a bit heartbroken that it turned out to be so aggressively mediocre. Long story short, I haven't played in over two months. Outside of the boring item affixes, atrocious drop rates, punishing difficulty of Act 2+ (it isn't fun being one-shot, I'm not in the mood of rehashing the "get more resistance noob" argument.), I end up feeling absolutely no connection to my character.

I don't feel like there are "builds" in this game. It all feels like I've been handed a small subset of abilities that are a touch above viable and been told "go". The skill system is extremely wonky (something that's even reflected in the skills UI, which is an atrocity unto itself), and I feel like I'm not actually putting anything together I can call my own.

I wanted primary stats mostly decoupled from gear. I wanted affixes to be interesting. I wanted skill trees revamped and improved. I wanted respecs to be costly but available. I wanted level 99. I wanted to feel like I actually had some semblance of control over my characater. I wanted to feel powerful going up against all monsters.

Instead my hero just felt like it was trapped inside an empty shell of a game that was finished in 2009, and revamped to for a double-digit IQ.

Lvl 44 using Vision Quest and Dire Bats

Before Vision Quest I went Poison Dart + Zombie Charger Undeath and it was pretty awesome, tried Sacrifice but I found it better in co-op with an Exploding Palm monk

And I haven't any problem with pets unable to tank (Nightmare Act 3 for now)... try to keep your gear up to date (vit and armor principally)

So for clarity, if i gear for Vitality and Armor then my Pets will gain a % of that?

I thought it was just a flat increase per level?

    Yes, they scale with gear

Current Build (Hell lvl 53) http://eu.battle.net...URkT!bVU!aaZaYZ

doing really fine with spawns of rares, only had a tough moment with Plagued + Frost + Mortar combination

Edit : just tried Grasp of the Dead Rain of Corpse it's awesome... you keep the base spell (60% slow) but corpse fall down on a larger area and explode it's a nice boost of damage while kiting

Perma are you noticing Spirit Vessel not reducing the CD on either SH or SW? I'm at work right now so I can't check this again, but last night playing I'm pretty sure it wasn't.
    its just visual, time it

    Figured.

I encountered Treasure Vault in NM. I ran it once and died with about half the time left on the counter. After I rezzed I ran back in and found the Vault literally one second before the time ran out. Many cheevos were a'poppin.

I should so take a pic of my framed "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck"!!! Seriously my most prized possession... Oh and that's a lot of 007 btw :D:D

Oh yeah, the collection is great since it excludes Quantum of Solace. Plus I got it for 1/3 the price, so there's that.

That sounds right, about the jam pack thing. Mortal Kombat, I never played those very much. The controls weren't Capcom enough and I didn't adopt well to having a block button. I'm feeling so nostalgic now. You'll make me start downloading MAME.

I approve of this. I'll probably just pull the PS off my shelf, blow the dust off of it like some little kid opening a mythical tome and play some PaRappa ^_^

Puzzle Fighter! I spent hours on versus with an old high school friend a couple years ago. LOL! Yeh, Felicia is a very hard fight. How about.... Super Gem Fighter?

Mortal Kombat...Deception? Maybe that was it. They had a puzzle fighter game in one of their mini-game sections and it was bauss sauce, I'm such a sucker for crap like that. I just love it.

I *think* I had a demo of Super Gem Fighter on my PS possibly? That was back when demos came in Sony's "Jampack" and they would preview Sony Underground and give you like three minutes of a game each and one of them was Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and run on sentences and I feel ten years old again and DAMMIT.

And yeah! My Dreamcast is like a glorified dust-collector these days though. I have some copy of that dopey Shenmue game around somewhere, I really just bought it for Marvel vs. Capcom and to play with the memory card. Har har har.

My friend wired an SDHC card reader onto his Dreamcast...

    No shitting... Bastard...

We did all sorts of crazy things to our systems as we got older and more brazen. I have three PS2s still shelved away from projects we never saw through. The Slimline Silver was a great model, on a side note.

Marvel vs Capcom looked like a great game, but I never had it. My favorite Capcom tournament fighter is Darkstalkers. The succubus_queen title is actually a nod to Morrigan Aenslaed. :P

Rofl if you grew up watching over sexualized versions of Rogue and Storm in 90's X-Men TAS then you'd definitely be familiar with Marvel vs. Capcom. Morrigan made an appearance in it as well, but her true "talents" were best shown in Darkstalkers. What a game that was. I was pretty fond of Felicia, she was beastly in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo which was AMAZINGZOMG. Whew.

Just call around to your local shops, they'll let you know.

I don't know what it is I love so much about midnight releases (and I don't mean those kinds of releases). Maybe it's just huddling in front of the store with all my nerdy brethren.

Oh thanks! They really compliment the Dr. Doom and Vito Corleone bobblehead dolls. Rofl!

I have a shelf in my office at work, with assorted candles, a digital picture frame, and a clock. Plus..... a little plush parrot, a Pleo dinosaur, and a thermal detonator signed by Carrie Fisher. I'm all about random. :P

Edit! And my latest aquisition: NASA bear. Now I'm all set for serious high level meetings.

I don't think that would be quite as complete without that bear. I find him terribly necessary. We should just make this a Show Your Shelf, check this out Check This Outter:

From this you will see that bad interior design is rampant through the entire house, I can't manage cables properly, and I do have an Alucard statue complete with holy water, roast beef and a cross. Huzzah!

    (And bad taste in television).

Alucard! I love the SOTN soundtrack. And this is based on a very old memory, but, I think I see a Sega Dreamcast, which makes me think Panzer Dragoon and NIghts. LOL!

SoTN was a ridiculous game. Other than VII and Tactics I probably dumped my entire high school nightlife into playing it. I remember running some weird part over and over again to get this sword crissaegrim that was just stupid OP. The art direction and soundtrack were out of this world. I have the soundtrack floating around here somewhere. If ever an example of side-scrolling depth existed in a video game that was it.

anyways @ Flummox lol love the magneto figure, also a mad men fan i see, good man its a great show

First couple seasons weren't too bad, looking back I'm still not sure what compelled me to buy the show. I'm more partial to programs with strong leading men with character flaws outside of gross sexuality. I'm more drawn to shows and films from the 50's and 60's for this reason, even if it's ill-founded in some places.
