My wife will be cool with it. Because she is awesome in regards to gaming. She does not play- in my 4 years as a pretty HC WoW player she levelled a hunter to lvl 4!! That was the extent of her gaming experience...
My kids however! All 3 game- 2 are solidly into it. My son and I will buy CE's each and play from day 1. My wife was cool listening to enless WoW babble for years between the 4 of out at dinner time and more....
Tis not all one way tho- wifey and i enjoy movies, meals out, motor bike riding and more together.... Balance in life- MODERATION- but NOT in the first week or 2 :-)
If the wife is crapped majorly over a season of heavy gaming it may be indicative of other issues being flamed by the gaming. Include her in what u think is reasonable with D3 play and be flexible :-) For what it's worth....
Ok- Ive had the beta for months- played mostly HC from when it came out... didnt make much diff really as beta v easy...
Anyway
WD- I like him a bit better recently- I think the critter he gets at about lvl 19 in the reveal this week makes him look more interesting as time goes on- didint like toads n spiders in beta much- will play it up to 20 and see what happen- but not a main toon
Barb- love this one- tempted to make it a main- I love the rag doll effect of belting mobs across the screen and out of the park... a fully nuts class- will definately be my main HC at this stage
Monk- fun and surprised how much i liked him- i wonder how vital a monk may be end game and perhaps arena with his heals? I think my #2 HC and possibly even #2 norm. character
DH- i like it - it does feel a bit machine gun like - the traps and vaults r great for crowd control and looks to be a great class if u like kiting and owning- will play it but will probably be down my list
Wizz- was always gunna be my main in normal mode- played a sorcerer in D2 as main and am happy to have a tougher time in early game (or more likely mid game) to be the glass cannon in end game grps- I hope the teleport functionality (esp runed) is as enjoyable as D2 tho I realise it has been nerfed a bit.
Have always liked ranged dps. Wizz wins overall with Barb/Monk in HC Will muck about with DH & WD.
HHmm - interesting- and yet even the Blizz guys note that with all the potential variable in D2 and Wow there are builds that are gravitated to and found to be best - u spend time honing the build after reaching level max and it may vary slightly in different scenarios - eg vrs a boss or against mobs or against a certain enhanced elite mob pack and u will swap out for that fight....
I recon there will be fewer than 100 builds commonly used (with = or - rune differecnes) per class.
This may sound like its not much in the face of billions of choices BUT even if it was 10 per class it would be more than the apparent "freedom" of the old days skill tree approach- Blizzard have improved the build options with perhaps removing some of the sense of control u have as u level up. It was only a "sense" of control tho....
I have found the black mushroom twice- I had one and was able to move it around my toons vis the shared stash... last week i found the shroom patch again (in catherdral somewhere) and was unable to harvest it- I figured it was a bug.
I have thought this would be a good idea also- however- as the game progresses the chances of u being separated in progression groups is low- mostly its when u are OP for the current content and can afford to fan out and know u wont die... maybe this wont happen so much once we have the real game?
Lets see... I've been in the beta since pretty much the start... lots changed in the last patch (14) HOWEVER, I will still roll a Wizz for normal simply because I like ranged attack (yes and i can switch to a melee wizz if i wanted to) and in D2 my main was a Wizz/Sorcerer PLUS I have always like icy skilz (mainly for solo play)
I will roll a Barb HCore char. (which is the easiest class early on IMO) because he has some self heals and a shield if i want and they r all 'round cool
Then maybe a monk for grp play (as he can being heals and can be played strategically) - as I was a healer in WoW and i enjoy helping everyone live.
Well, levelled a barbarian to lvl ten the took off a couple sweet drops and placed them in the shared HC stash then let the big fella die.... was a bit conflicted as I started to grow attached ANYway... he is in the Halls of the Dead now looking all spooky! V Cool.
