For me diablo 4 should be like diablo 3 with some new stuff.

I think it would be nice to have other things to do other than having to do millions of rifts at the end just in the hope to get paragon and better items.

The look of diablo 3 is for me a lot more appealing than the one of diablo 2.

I don't get it why ppl want it to look like diablo 2.

Probably because when Diablo 3 released, most people absolutely hated it because it was considered to be very cartoonish in style and seemingly made for a younger audience than D2 fans were used to.
D2 (and D1 to a similar degree) was much darker and brutal in it's graphical style and gameplay, as well as it's cut scenes, etc

To compare, Diablo 3 would be considered probably a PG12 or maybe a 15 in certification, whereas D2 and D4 would most certainly be 18 or above.

Lastly, Diablo 4 has much more realistic graphics than D3 seems to have and this is even more noticable when you go back to play D3 again after the Server Slam, etc. Something just doesn't feel quite right with D3 and we are reminded of that after seeing D4 style.

posted a message on Just Another Excited Player Ready For Diablo 4 To Drop

    Hey all,

Just joined here after hearing about this forum elsewhere.
I'm Scorpy, been a hardcore Diablo fan since the original version I played back on a very old Windows 98 PC back in the day. (As I recall)

Really hyped about the release of the game coming up - I played during the Server Slam, and it definitely sold me enouhg to go ahead and buy the pre-order. Only regret is that I bought the standard version on Xbox and didnt realise that didnt include early access (and it was from a 3rd party seller, so they wont upgrade or refund which is a shame).

In any case, it's only a few extra days to wait, so looking forward to getting back into my Sorcerer and Druid classes as they definitely felt super-OP durig the playtest (in a good way).
Also loving the aesthetic of this game in comparison to D3 as it feels like it harkens back to the days of Diablo 2 where the game was much darker in style and nature and really gritty - as opposed to the more cartoonish feel that D3 has.
Don't get me wrong, I love D3 and always have, but it's refreshing to see the new direction of the upcoming version and I am really keen to see how that progresses.

There is a solid feel of D2 meets Path of Exiles to this version and it feels like (for once in a new game) they have taken most of the really good aspects of those games going forward.

With all these positives, there are still some minor negatives - a few bugs, some wonky control decisions, skills that feel a little lacklustre compared to others, but the negatives really are minor and certainly inconsequential enough not to take much away from how good the game is.

I am holding back on making a decision about the "open world" aspect of the game, as I can see plenty of benefits AND problems that could arise from it, and I feel like this is something that will need further play and testing before making a real decision on how good or bad it is.

Anyway - happy to meet y'all and looking forward to seeing some of you in New New New Tristram... XD
