posted a message on So do people here actually like the game?
I don't know what's worse, a fanatic, or a hater. I think, both are extreme cases, both wrong, both destructive. For what I've heard, the game suffers from the very same problems it has today, poor itemization and non rewarding loot hunt, time will tell, but, lowering the mob density to it's previous state..? really?... sigh.

From what I know so far, I'm not going to get the expansion, seems like it can prolong the life of the game so little.

Here, simple solution: (for the ones who say that I'm only bad news and negative comments)- highest possible quality white weapon + brimstone + some other not so easy to get crafts/items + considerable amount of money = legendary version of that white item. It not only makes white items interesting but also lets you hunt an specific legendary. Same rule could apply to blues, maybe the difference could be that the outcome legendary has stats that are related to the blue stats.Voila, new "generic runewords", that doesn't even need new content, it uses what is already in the game.
I like how that sounds. And I still do think we need a way to circumvent not being able to find a certain Legendary (and not being able to trade for one), because chances are people will get frustrated once they hear there's this awesome "build unlocking" item, or crazy gimmicky item, and they can't find it after dozens of hours farming. I do wonder how it would work for items that do not have a "white" version. Like Sources/Mojos, Rings and Amulets. That said, it's a bit sad that, while it's an idea that could probably be seriously discussed by the developers internally (because it's simple and objective), even turning out to be a new feature that many people would appreciate, it will likely not get enough attention or discussion and will get lost in time. (it's just how things are) Unless you can put some pretty photoshopped screenshots, post it on reddit, incgamers and the official forums, and gather a crapton of support. It's the number one problem that good ideas have, getting enough visibility.
Yeah, I don't really have the time for that right now, too busy with work + personal projects + life, D3 (games actually) is not part of any of those.

You missed the point, what I was talking about is about having some use for every item that currently drops for you. In the case you mentioned, notice that in my example the only difference would be that the blue one would somewhat force the legendary random attributes to not be so random, and more according to what stats the blue already has. So, if I just want a legendary I can gamble with a white item, no big deal, it wont be 100% of the time a better item if I put a blue there, just that the odds would probable be better.

Exactly, another example, in D2 according to how good was the white item, the runeword's quality was affected, reason why ethereal (cannot be repaired) weapons were very useful combined with runewords that had the indestructible affix.

Here, in D3, the weapons are "soul less", it means, it doesn't matter how good, rare the weapon/item is, it's all the same. Personally, I don't like that. I would like to hunt for a specific kind and quality of weapon.

I think there was something planned around the idea of different white items qualities, and it was just removed, like a lot of features that didn't make it into the game. After all, what's the reason for so many attributes (fine, solid, superior, etc) that items have?.

It just feels rushed and patched.

Here, simple solution: (for the ones who say that I'm only bad news and negative comments)

I don't understand this obsession with making whites and blues actually viable. They already serve a pretty good purpose; you'll use them leveling up, and you need their crafting materials for higher end crafting. I'm all for making runewords in the future, but the state they are in now is perfectly fine, and Blizzard doesn't need to waste any more resource time on them.
I never said that they should be viable, as in competing with Rares or Legendaries. I said that it would be cool if they serve a purpose, instead of being pinata stuff/craft material. Like, I don't know, find a perfect version of certain type of sword, to use it in a recipe, and you can find these special recipes all across the game.

Just curious, is Blizzard going to address this?, it would be cool if they serve some purpose, let alone runewords, but, I dont know, something maybe minor, who knows.

That together with 250ms of latency and a poor network coding making it a bad experience for me to play.

If only Blizzard could take some ideas from them and others RPG's out there...

I detect a high level of hate against the OP, I wonder where does it come from, maybe dedicated players have a serious amount of hate against botters.. still, if he said that the project never ran, why are you not believing him?, Blizzard could perfectly scan his HD and find certain files that are flagged as botish material. Who knows.

    Sorry son, you got NSA'd.

Well, technically speaking, if you didn't bot, what you do in your free time with harmless code is up to you, and they shouldn't assume that you are going to use that code for botting. It's like sending a man to prison because he was studying a gun, and he could probably use it to kill someone.

That is, if and only if you didn't use the bot, of course.

Why not use the toughness to make thorns more strong, the tankier you are, the stronger the thorns are.

I don't see why not, for example, killing a boss in Torchlight 2 is indeed rewarding, I have a reason to fight the boss, I want to kill him, I'm expecting some nice drops. Here is: "sigh... can you die already".
