When I feel the urge to smash some demons , I login , do a quick run and logout ... the whole story. Don't care what Blizzard is planning or not .
There is absolutely nothing else to be doing in Diablo 3 , nothing .
No trade games
Barely anyone in chat , lack of social aspect , totally .
You grind for Ah? then what? I want to play D3 not Ah 3.
Crafting? everything costs you gold , nothing like finding items and combining them (cube , d2 ). Just read how many things u can do with the cube .
Doing random magic find runs? oh , you can't .. you must fight the same path all over again looking for elites ..
Finding gear gives absolutely no satisfaction , no one to share/trade with .. just sell it for gold or real money <- not diablo game .
PVP - I dont care for pvp , but for those who do care.. there is no pvp yet and who knows when there will be.
My point is : game is dying and blizzard knows it ... that's why they are silent .
As for me , I don't whine ... I just wait for new Diablo 2 ladder :>
I myself have started with WD and then just quit D3 for several months , then came back and tried WW barb -> It was actually fun to play D3, for very the first time .
WD is just a boring necromancer ripoff character .
So you should try go WW barb , they are the best , not because they are OP but because they are truly fun to play .
But despite barbs being fun to play, D3 is just not as fun as D2 is. I've recently installed D2 , made a sorceress and felt how great the game is , its hard when you don't have the gear yet it's possible to play and progress if you know what you are doing , unlike in D3 , everything is 100% gear dependent.
Why would anyone buy singleplayer items with real money? And as for Gold Ah , ppl probably got tired of D3 overall , went playing other games like tl2 , pandas etc ...
Diablo 3 is not in a MMO designed game... the social / online aspects of D3 are the same as D2 with a new skin.
Chat channel? yep both games, trade channels? yep both games.. multiplayer games? yep both games... Multi-player with thousands? nope
The auction house, yeah lets see here.. how much selling for in game and real life currency happened in D2? just as much, difference is Blizzard provided you a simpler and safer means to do so...
Alrighty the story line.. well you claim it is so linear which would throw out the MMO aspect again which have to be more broad, or the lack of open world exploration again a ding against MMO aspect..
the whole "adding a BoA item is ruining the game"...yeah and the sky is falling too. They have repeatedly with each patch listened to the player base one what to add and change, when the game was released it was released on the player base demands and bitching and ranting and whining from Diablo 2 and beta...
You have yet to supply a single indication where this game is MMO'ish as you claim.

Huge cooldown on skills?
Time to cast town portal?
Time to identify items?
Time to craft? (gems/items)
Auction house? (killed the trade games which I loved in D2, it also helped me build my friend list) Also it killed the singleplayer experience for most players. Everyone seems to farm gear just to sell them on the AH.
Linking items? there is no more: "come I show u some cool item" . Dead social aspect .
Online only? Really? There was HUGE difference in D2 between singleplayer and battle.net .. huge , I feel NONE in D3.
Belial , wtf is that? huge boss , just like ALL mmos are .
This is not a Diablo game , it's a crap out of WoW developers .
Things that I loved about D2 and are greatly missing in D3:
Cube
Runes / Runewords - insight for merc , infinity etc
Stacking skill points (items: +x cold skill , for example) - Not everything based on weapon dmg
Crafting with the cube (Bugging eth shields / armors , unsocket items , roll charms , craft amulets , etc )
Open world , finding a waypoint actually ment something .
8 players , Party option , Open PvP , Town portals (instant) , using cain for quick Item ident.
Ingame trading !!!! yes , best thing in d2 if u ask me ... even with the scammers , it was actually fun to be careful as it was part of the game . It really added a lot of social aspect to the game .
Public games with names - For any reason , chill , help kill dat and dat , trading , PvP , Boost help - A lot of social thing here . I had like 50 ppl in friend list because of public games . I have 0 now . (d3)
Yes there are more , still I like diablo 3 , it has great engine and really fun physics . Also , Diablo 2 classic was boring until the expansion came up, so I still have my hopes high for the future plans .
I agree with one thing , they were so focused on Inferno that they forgot they have nightmare and hell , nightmare / hell .. way too easy , unlike in diablo 2.
I think you compare it with the wrong game , you talk about runes , ubers etc ... but you forget one important fact : Diablo 2 was released without diablo 2 LOD & Patches right away . So please , when you compare diablo 3 with diablo 2 , dont forget to add classic to it .
The only reason I used to play for years Diablo 2 , was Lod (expansion) . So I'm not worried about D3's future .
