The topic being that most players are stupid (Funny how I created the thread and you apparently know the topic better than me lolwut)? I believe that was established already, but sure, let's tie it in - Blizzard's statistics do not reflect the difficulty of the pre-Inferno difficulties accurately (My above calculations didn't even take into account people who played only Normal mode and quit), and it is my belief that reaching Inferno is actually extremely easy if you are dedicated. However, dedicated doesn't mean skilled at all, hence the most players are idiots part, resulting in countless whines across the board.

    Lol wow, people use that?

Remember, only 1.9 percent of people have touched inferno. Based off that percentage, I think it's safe to assume that a lot of people don't know what they are doing. Perhaps they are just following trend from their friends.

Those statistics are REALLY misleading. It says that 1.9% of CHARACTERS unlocked Inferno. My and my roommate both have 10 characters, and both have one Inferno-unlocked one. Does that mean 10% of us unlocked Inferno, or 100%?

However, looking at their 3 characters per account statistic tilts the statistics in their favor - if everyone has 3 characters on average, and 1.9% of characters unlocked inferno, it would mean that 0.6% of the player base is in Inferno. However, this is extremely muddy stuff, and Blizzard is either willfully not giving us the real numbers, or their statisticians are idiots (Guess which one is more likely).

Basically, it is very safe to assume that the vast vast majority of the player base is playing on a very casual schedule, as evident by their character level statistic. Now let's look at their estimated sales records - http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/diablo_iii_shatters_pc_sales_records_server_woes_postpone_real-money_auction_house_launch

6.3 million by the end of the first week is a big number, for the sake of simplicity let's assume that number went up to 6.5 by now, although chances are it's bigger... So, 6.5 million players, 3 characters per account, meaning that you have roughly 19.5 (Let's say 20 for the sake of simplicity) million characters... 80% of those are nowhere near the level range for Inferno, leaving you with 4 million characters in the 30-60 range. I'm gonna go out on a leg and say that the remaining 20 million characters have a Gaussian distribution of levels, but don't quote me on that one. With some rough calculations, you get that about 8% of those characters are level 60, or 1.6 million. Bring back the "3 characters per account" statistic and you get roughly 530k players with level 60 characters, which very roughly matches the 0.6% statistic for players. Note that I'm operating on preposterous assumptions and some very fishy guessing, but the point I want to illustrate is this - the statistic that Blizzard is not telling us is the play-time. You can safely assume that anyone who is progressing through Inferno at this point has put in on average 100 hours into the game by now. How many players with 100 hours of play time have reached Inferno, that's what I want to know.

In conclusion, I believe that the gigantic margin of players that simply aren't trying to reach Inferno is clouding the actual Inferno statistic, and that the number of people that reached it AMONG DEDICATED PLAYERS isn't that small at all.

So the class isn't broken, most players are just idiots. How surprising.

Well, you know, until today, you could have made this Wizard build that depended on low vitality. It added a lot of diversity and a very risky gameplay, but then stupid people bitched. :(

As I posted on the official forums. Might have been in a more diplomatic way but this is bullshit. Everyone thats going for world firsts is playing 4 player for a reason. Mobs don't scale damage and their hp doesn't increase compared to havign 4 times the dps. Also skill combos work in ur favor

I am perfectly aware of this, and Blizz is aware of this, but I am saying how it happened. I finished Act II in the meantime, half of it alone, the other half with 3 others, I still stand to my statement.

    (Repost from official forum: http://eu.battle.net...opic/4309851121)

Hoping to get some more feedback on this here, so here goes:

    I

    Is this behavior intended?

I'm gonna go into a bit of detail about our group just to make sure that all the bases are covered and we can skip over the obvious skill / gear counter-arguments.

    Our setup was:
    Wizard (15k health & 8k Damage in normal gear, 13k & 4.5k in 100% magic find gear)
Barbarian (25k health & 4.8k Damage in normal gear, 16k health & 3.7k damage in 100% magic find, dual wield)
Demon Hunter (20k health & 7k Damage in normal gear, 15k health & 5k damage in 100% magic find)
Monk (19k health & 4k Damage in normal gear, 12k health & 2.8k Damage in 160% magic find gear)

We breezed through nightmare, and most of act I on hell. However we hit a roadblock in act II - bosses and champions did insane damage, were taking forever to die, normal mobs would kill me (wizard) if I didn't have diamon skin ready... No matter what skill combo we'd use, we'd get similar results... Progress was slow and on tougher packs mostly consisted of just reviving until they eventually die. Note that story boss encounters were all easy, we were having issues only with the random spawns.

Now, fast forward a few hours and as we split up, one of us has the idea to try and solo... finding out to our astonishment 3 minutes later that we completely owned all the packs, mobs, everything. I one-shot normal mobs in my magic find gear, I simply facerolled through everything for 20 minutes.

So, is this behavior intended, or is this a sort of scaling issue?

Everyone here makes a good case, but I am still not buying it without a proper in-game explanation. I suppose we'll know tomorrow midnight (Yey for EU).

    Quote from SnowBro191

I think the angels look an awful lot like humans just with giant glowy wings. I mean take off those wings and how would you tell them apart?

By the fact that angels are made out of light and sound and have no faces. Humans are a tad fleshier.

    Quote from SnowBro191

Which part did Tyrael bleed like a human? I think I missed that part.

Sorry, that was me just being overly-dramatic. However, being mortal, one can assume that he bleeds.

    Quote from SnowBro191

What I don't understand, is that Tyrael became mortal when he took of his wings, yet he survives a giant fiery crash from heaven to sanctuary.

Which is the reason I hope they will properly explain this in the game.

    Quote from Tyrian

Humans are (degraded) offspring of Angels and Demons

Humans are closer to the original version of Anu than either Angels or Demons, in the sense that they encompass light and dark, good and evil, and the ability to be both and/or choose without being bound to one or the other. Think of it as a 're-evolution' if you will. :) One of the reasons the heavens and the hells both fear what humans could become.

With this in mind, I can only imagine Tyrael being a true human if he had the capacity for evil and to be corrupted.... (This doesnt mean he has to be evil or become corrupted - but he has to have the capacity for it). Because one cant simply 'be human' in the story sense unless you embodied the ability to be of good or of evil. Isnt that what the Nephalum were? The sum of Angels and demons, embodying both, with the power to be greater.

True, but angels do not simply "become" humans, regardless of their capacity for good or evil. If that were the case, Imperius would become human long ago, as he is clearly shown as the most corrupt angel. You are correct that the heavens and hells fear what humans could become, rightfully so. Why would they do so if they could simply become humans themselves, like Tyrael apparently did? Tyrael had no demon inside of him to "sum up", ergo he cannot become human.

I'm going to openly talk about the game cinematics found here. You have been warned.

So yeah, we see Tyrael willingly give up his place in Angiris council, and he falls down to Sanctuary becoming... human. How the eff does that work? Humans are (degraded) offspring of Angels and Demons, you can't just turn into one. In the cinematics Tyrael says that he is now "mortal", rather than "human", but that's just arguing semantics. He took on the form of a human, walks, talks and acts like a human, and most importantly, bleeds like a human. There is nothing human-like in angels, as we are made aware in the various novels and stories, so why then did this happen?

Obviously those are out-of-context cinematics, and I do hope this is explained further in the game. If not, then I will be extremely disappointed, Blizzard had nearly a decade to figure this out, and they can't be this lazy.
