Path of Exile. Action-RPG with just an absolutely insane amount of customization and build variety. It's F2P and in essentially open beta - myself and a few friends all received access within hours of requesting it on their main page. If you don't get it you can donate $10 to the small company and get access and a "Supporter" title.

The game is seriously cool. Feels like Diablo should have felt. Almost a mix between ARPG and MMO.

posted a message on Duping is rampant in USA servers now.
Why would Blizzard stop something that's earning them a pretty substantial profit? They do nothing about the small dupes (15 people of the millions playing) and continue to rake in money as that item continues to change hands in the RMAH->GAH flip, and then again when the Gold is sold on the RMAH.

If it were truly rampant, they'd do something. They have much better tracking technology, and if they felt it were worth their time something would be done.

Of course the AH is 90% of the game. Blizzard would have been stupid to implement something like the RMAH where they (and you) stand to make money, and then make it only semi-useful.

No conspiracy theory here. It's just business.

If I could make just a small tip:

You didn't actually get into the 'tips' until 1:55. That's a 2 minute introduction in a 4 minute video claiming to be "bite sized". Otherwise, great video series. Just trim the fat a bit and really make it bite sized. :P

I was under the impression they will be taking a cut of the RMAH sales.

Oh, they are. No doubt about that. And I don't see a problem. Anyone selling something is making money from Blizzard's intellectual property. In the real world, if you own the means of production, you get a cut of what was made on it.

That's an old copy of the FAQ, too. They have eliminated listing fees for RMAH. It's just $1.00 (for US) on sold items and some percentage on commodities sold. If it doesn't sell, no cost to the seller.

Yeah, I'm excited about the idea of it, but I have this sinking feeling that everyone is going to dump their crap on the AH and it's going to be just like the US housing market - too many sellers, non-existent buyers.

I was under the impression they will be taking a cut of the RMAH sales.

How is the transaction fee determined?

A nominal fixed transaction fee will be deducted from the seller for each item listed in the auction house. This fee consists of a fixed charge to list the item, which is assessed whether or not the item is successfully sold, and an additional fixed charge that is assessed only if the item is sold. Because the listing portion of the fee is charged even if the item doesn’t sell, it will be in the seller’s interest to list items he or she believes other players will be interested in, and to do so at a competitive price. Specific details related to the transaction fee for the currency-based auction house will vary by region and will be announced at a later date.
Please note that we plan to waive the listing portion of the fee for a limited number of transactions per account. In other words, for these transactions, the seller will only pay a transaction fee if the item is successfully sold, and that fee will not include the listing charge. We’ll have further details on this as well at a later date
    .

posted a message on Asinine Blue Post!?
People just like you are the problem. You sit here and bitch about how they're a company when you made them a company. For the longest time, developers were just gamers. They were your fellow nerd, but then kids made it so freaking miserable to try and interact with that only people making tons of money wanted anything to do with them.

I applaud their responses lately. The people they're responding to are giving them 0 respect and are generally acting like children who don't respond to professional remarks with anything other than ridicule. How do you communicate with the incommunicado? Talk to them in their own language.

The latest Blue posts remind me of how developers used to talk to the pains in the asses. That was back when games were really, really fun.

I don't blame anyone on a Guest Pass for walking away from it without buying it.

    Let's see:
    - 12+ hours of downtime in the first 24 hours of launch? Check.
    - Consistent disconnects when the servers were actually up making it more difficult to progress? Check.
    - Getting an achievement when you could play more than an hour without downtime, only for it to disappear? Check.

That's just the first couple days. I know that if I had been on a Guest Pass there's no way I'd have bought it. They just didn't have time to actually see that the game is loads of fun, pretty deep and re-playable as hell. Sad, really, but nature of the beast.

Disagree with you there. Sure, there were issues at the beginning. But we are talking about now, 2 weeks later. No more issues. If i didnt have the game, and was given a guest pass, I would absolutely purchase.

I agree. I was only going on the point he made about the abysmal launch. It's been super smooth for me for at least 9 or 10 days now.

just went to the gym because of the maintenance and will be catching up on Game of Thrones (have yet to watch the last 3 episodes), and River Monsters

Last night's Game of Thrones was AMAZING! One of the best episodes of the season so far. I'm jealous - you're in for a great 3 hours.

really? is there actually some action instead of talking and ugly women showing ugly boobs?

Haha, yeah. There's nice boobs too, though.

You'll have a much different view on the Lannister's after last night's too

Awesome video. I play DH and the girl that sort of sat there mid-zerg reminds me of my Barb friend the first time I pulled a pack and started kiting. If only those were Waller/Mortar/Desecration chickens.

    Vilaby?

On topic - You're not geared or you're playing poorly. There wasn't some massive oversight on Blizzard's behalf that left an entire class incapable of defeating Inferno.
