D3 isnt fun.... ive farmed for weeks and havent gotten shit ive could use except for a pair of gloves

and if you want a good bow u gotta cough up like 100 million wich is absolutley idiotic.

This really wasn't the topic of discussion for my post, but yes it does take a long time to find "best in slot" gear for your characters. That is how the whole Diablo franchise was made since the beginning. Nothing new.

I mean I have a friend that played half of what I have (I have about 160 Hours) and he already found a set piece while I have never seen one yet. Bad luck I guess... but it turns around sooner or later.

Since the new patch I have been trying to find a good balance for my DH. Since my 2 handed bow got its DPS nerfed because of the halved attack speed (and having no gold to upgrade at the moment), I had to look for a way to beef up my DH in other departments. I love trying new builds that I often see on these forums, and some are actually pretty fun to play. Since Blizzard is always really big on “build diversity” I thought to myself, “There has got to be more than just stacking DEX, speed and DPS while constantly getting hit one-shot because you have under 15k HP.”

So I tinkered around with different DH skills and thought about creating a DH completely opposite of current popular damage builds. The inspiration came from the massive movement away from Smoke Screen towards Shadow Power wih Gloom rune. This is a very underestimated (and underutilized) DH skill. Three seconds of life steal and -65% damage reduction is a huge help. Synergize that with the life steal of Nethertentacles and the native life steal and/or life on hit from your weapons and gear – crazy. The core of the build is Elemental arrow with nethertentacles, Shadow Power with gloom, and Preparation with back-up plan.

    Reasoning for other skills:
Sentry Turret (Guardian Turret)– Set it down to help you AND allied by giving them additional damage reduction. The turret's attack also heals you with Shadow Power active.
Hungering arrow (Devouring Arrow)– Nice optional damage when you run out of hatred
Chakram (Shuriken Cloud) – A spell that costs only 10 hatred to cast and lasts 3 minutes dealing 4-6k damage to ALL enemies around you. Not only is it very efficient (Damage per hatred) but it also synergizes very well with Shadow power for life steal.

I found this build to be very fun as well as a nice change from kiting everything hoping to god nothing even sneezes on you. With below average gear for inferno, I am currently able to face tank almost all elites in Act 1 (I found a pack of fast, desecration, molten, immune minion frogs things(?) that I couldn’t kill without wasting 3 deaths on). With this build, even reflect damage elites won’t be a problem. Instead of finding items with high DEX only, I try to look for items that also have VIT, resist all and +armor. My weapon is some crap 2 handed cross bow with 1180DPS; I would prefer to have something with VIT, speed, and life on hit or life steal.

    My DH has:
    88k DPS with Sharpshooter
    ~21k HP
Good amount of resist (don’t know the exact number off the top of my head)

Hope someone enjoys it as much as I do! Good luck have fun!

I see it being between 1.5 to 2.5 million.

It is valuable because of the socket, but then having no AS and low damage keeps it from being really valuable.

posted a message on LoH vs LS
I was thinking today about building some different gear set-ups for LoH (Life on hit) and/or LS (life steal). From reading the posts, it seems that DH's have gotten a little "tankier" which sparked some thoughts on new builds I had in mind.

I cant go testing yet so I wanted to ask the community...

Does LS and LoH only apply to weapon hits? For example, if I lay a caltrop down that does damage will I still be gaining LoH or LS without actually using my bow?

No one wants to have a Diablo character in full yellow gear, they want them in full Legendary/Set gear.
I think you guys should have been around for the forum discussions prior to Diablo 3 coming out. There were a lot of people asking to not repeat D2 dominance of uniques, sets, and especially runewords. They asked for rares to be the best possible gear. I know you may not agree with this, but there are many players who are happy with rares being the best. I'm perfectly happy with it. I really disliked the runewords crush all other items era of D2, as everyone was wearing the same gear, and there was no viable way to farm runes except through botting.

I've found 4 sets/legendaries so far. I sold them for 2.5m, 2m, 1.2m and 200k. There is demand for legendaries because many offer affixes not otherwise found in that slot. Just look up prices, and you'll find many that are going for millions of gold. This isn't stupid people posting for ridiculous prices, but actual supply and demand at work that is setting the price. They will be soon be more valuable when buffed.

I think it's also a silly comment to say all uniques and sets in D2 were upgrades. Go to Arreat Summit webpage and actually look at the lists of uniques again, and you'll realize there were a bunch that simply got vendored when they dropped (ex. Windhammer).

I myself have found numerous upgrades in Act 1 Inferno. Weapons of course are inferior, but I have found many armor pieces that were upgrades. I usually find one upgrade each day, or at the very least a rare i can sell for 1m+. This is all from farming Act 1 Inferno. I also think people have the mentality that Inferno should be on farm already for everyone, after only 4 weeks. It was meant to be difficult and a slow progression; that's what players asked for. You would all be complaining twice as hard if you had it on farm easy mode and had nothing else to do only 4 weeks from game launch.

Much like politics, you can never make EVERYONE happy lol.

    Erm.....

I find usable gear upgrades all the time......

And they are directly buffing drop rates in Inferno next patch. Then they are buffing Sets/Legendarys right after.
I dont see the issue? I have yet to go a single day without finding something decent.

Don't make stuff up. Everyone playing in late inferno are using almost exclusively gear they've bought from AH.

The only thing I bought off auction house (no lie)

    1x rare xbow at 825 damage @ 80k gold
1x magic bow (RMAH) at 1025 damage @ 4.33 USD
