It is not required to have 4 set, but without it you'l need more resist all and vit. 4 set just makes it like a joke, it lets you use smoke screen on top of shadow power.
I have around 500 resist all, 4500 (or more cant remember) armor and around 35k HP on my demon hunter... I used to get ass kicked anyway before 1.0.3,but now, i can face tank elites in Act II and do fairly good in later acts. Though I sacrificed a lot of DPS for that, I will consider lowering resist a bit for damage.
Nice video, but I personally think that natalya's set bonus will get nerfed. 2 d/sec is just too much. Enjoy it while it lasts! (I might be wrong, but it seems too powerful set bonus compared to relative power of other sets).
With the damage nerf to monster damage it's viable to tank mobs by just sustaining shadow power (gloom rune), given you have a decent amount of resist and vit. Demon hunter tank is less gear dependent than any other class atm, as long as you can sustain shadow power.
This build focuses around chaining shadow power with the gloom rune (reduces damage taken by 65% and 20% life leech). This requires heavy discipline usage, and this build is designed to sustain it. When sustained, extra discipline can be dumped into smoke screens to prevent taking additional incoming damage while leeching back to full hp.
More resistance to all elements and vitality on gear can make tanking much easier and can avoid the use of smoke screen completely. In my kill video I had only 144 resist all and 18k life, so the use of smoke screen is still needed.
